New to 3D printing, and first thought is wow the reaver is a lot of separate parts to print. May have to do various sections in bulk.

Edit: Skipped the test cube, first print attempt is a block of 9 of the carapace guns. Omnissiah bless the Photon Mono, please!

Depending on the size of the print bed/plate you can fit a bunch of parts on each plate, think of like sprue, so for example you could potentially get all or most of the weapons on one plate, body parts on another and so on.

Every since I first came across them in a small blurb in the old Titan Legions rulebook back in the...90's (?)...I've wanted to paint up some Legio Destructor Titans.

But, while we know what the Legion badge looks like, we have never been shown their color scheme - and to the best of my knowledge, it hasn't been described anywhere either.

Any takes on what it should look like?

The are the "Steel Beasts", and have become somewhat "Orky" over time, so maybe something metallic and...green?

Also, how would you suggest running them with the 'create your own legion' rules?

Something favoring melee, shorter range and high rate of fire weapons?

Any and all thoughts appreciated!

A full Precept maniple on the right, a full axiom on the left, and a base Myrmadon in the center. Plus what looks to be 2 full households. Very nice.

Edit: @Alpharius it looks like the Legio Metalica rules will be in the Loyalist Compendium, since they are on the cover and it includes a number of legios sufficient to cover all the current Loyalist Legios with rules plus one extra.

Good point - I'd forgotten that we're getting two new books soon - a loyalist and a chaos one!...

Maybe Legio Destructor will be in there too?

The Iron Skulls are a classic, of course, but I'm holding out hope for the Beasts of Steel too!

I was happy about that with legio venator (no known paint scheme) and the second I chose them they get rules lol and a paint scheme

The custom legio rules from ryza are pretty great and very flexible, you could def mix a couple traits and a couple pieces of choice wargear to make something close range with a high rate of fire.

Tiger Eyes vs Iron Spiders 1800pts. Very fun game, my buddy painted up Iben Faruk and he did not disappoint, his squadron took my warlord. For the firs time ever we saw some terrible luck see a titan lose its voids entirely turn one, it didn't end well for that reaver. The other tiger eyes reaver however, the dual close combat monster ended up taking out 3 of my titans over the course of the game. Both our banners of knights were just absolutely obliterated, his from a single lucky plasma blastgun shot and mine also died to a plasma blastgun one shotting them. One of my reavers ended up having to kick his way through the train to get to the objective and luckily didn't suffer any damage in doing so. In the end the tiger eyes won it, having tabled me entirely and holding 2 objectives, one of which was vital. Iben Faruk thankfully didn't survive.

People have been asking about the train, there are some on ebay now https://www.ebay.ca/itm/GDT-Heresy-Train-Terrain-for-8-10mm-Games-like-Titanicus-or-Epic-3d-Printed/353373983648?hash=item5246bb13a0:g:30YAAOSw6K1gGNS~

I believe the file has supports, could be wrong. the nice thing about assembly is the body and legs comprise fewer parts than you'd think. Was easier than building a reaver that's for sure.

Just received the alternate Acastus weapons from Vanguard, beautifully cast resin. Assembly is going to be... complicated, since it's going to require cutting the existing weaponry to fit (I was hoping this would replace some of the parts in the Acastus kit, not require cutting).

So here is the news (sorry for the bad picture quality):

I assembled a second set of Acastus, with the alternate weapons by Vanguard. I magnetized them, but I've not yet magnetized the parts I removed (I suspect I have enough default configuration Acastus Porphoryons already).

I also started printing the Grimdark Terrain Heresy Train. First print was a mess, probably due to bad settings on my side. The second one worked like a charm. More wagons + tracks coming soon!

Next on the assembly line are the various Cerastus-class knights.

Nice, a lot of the grimdark terrain pairs up really well with the gw stuff. I wanna try doing a partially elevated platform for the train but magnetize the bridge sections. Probably just have the train like hanging off a broken section. The acastus are looking cool, maybe just field one at first

Most of my terrain has been primed grey and will end up in various grey shades, so I was thinking to have a more vibrant color for the engine of the train (the wagons will probably stay metallic), perhaps dark red.

Some transfers always help make it pop.

Got another aquarium castle, wanted to make use of some of the bits I had left over. Pretty happy with how it turned out, I've always like the retrofit look and this is basically knight world terrain more or less. Still gotta get it primed. I put some random guns on it to make it match with the previous conversions, also put a vulcan megabolter turret for good meassure. The bridge part sort of stopped abruptly so I put something that would look like a crane. Also there was a gap in the bottom so installed a gate of sorts so it looks like foot access to the fortress.

For printing ? I increased exposure time since I changed resin and the new one has a longer recommended exposure time (my fault, didn't read the side of the bottle), and I installed an electric heater in the basement room where I print (it was a bit cold and the printer warned me).

My buddy's warlord "the king in yellow"

Took a frame from the end of the movie enemy mine and photoshoped in some titans.

We've been anxiously awaiting corrupted/chaos titan rules but as they have yet to come out we plan on running a psi-titan vs psi-titan battle where one of them is basically counting as a corrupted titan, in this case my buddy's warlord. Fluff I wrote has it basically striding out of the sea and attacking coastal imperial outposts in a form of ritual slaughter, always returning into the sea and stalked by thousands of birds who conceal of from air attack and fly in the pattern of a chaos rune.

This is more of an origin picture, prelude to a chaos cults ritual sacrifice before the corrupted titan's princeps embarks to war.

This week was quite productive for me, as I managed to assemble 16 Cerastus Knights, and print a good amount of Heresy Train rails & wagons (tchoo tchoo!).

Next stop are the Cerastus Acheron & Castigator (12 of each), which will probably take me a couple of weeks. For printing, I may be going for the defense bunker system of GrimDarkTerrain, and do the city walls later. Decisions, decisions...

Lucius reaver is magnetized and ready for priming. This thing is amazing, had a friend print up 2 of most arm weapons too for as much versatility loadout wise. Stoked that it will be easier to tell my reavers apart on the battleflied now. I love the more angular and armoured look, matches well with my either lucius pattern titans.

Not bad, the print is well done, the model looks nice. But I feel there's still something missing on that design. The blocky versions Warhound and Warlord have something very distinct about them, they look like there's more going on then simply the a blocky carapace placed over the same skeleton. This Reaver design however feels just like the regular Reaver, but with a slightly different carapace.

I think the biggest deviation from the other two lucius pattern titans is the lower leg armour. The file originally was complete but was changed to just be the armour I believe. This is the complete one.

I think if the lower legs matched the lucius warlord a bit better it would sorta tie the knot on linking them all together. It's tough because you lose a lot of detail of the pistons if you go with a big blocky lower leg.

It's lacking the thigh armor panels, and the carapace weapon being inset to the carapace means there is no room for the two little void shield ridges on the fw version. Def a lucius refit rather than a direct lucius version. May see if I can get a print going for mine.

Wrote some fluff to better flesh things out, tl;dr a princeps convinces local savages to sacrifice themselves, promising them eternal access to the "palace of the gods". He's tricking them into a chaos ritual that will corrupt him and his warlord titan.

Spoiler:
++++++

“The palace of the gods awaits the faithful”

The princeps declared in high gothic, a self assured smile broke as the chorus of chanting built to fever pitch.
The assembled council of tribal elders greeted the princeps with a bow, five of them, their black sheer masks concealing their ritually tattoo’d faces.

The savages of Humardu we’re a deeply spiritual people, reverence for the gods and all manner of rituals worship taking up much of their society and daily lives. Their inability to distinguish technology from magic had been historically exploited for recruitment and replenishment of labour by the machanicum and imperium. Humardu’s hardy populace made ideal stock for soldiering or manufacturing.

Their gods were not his gods. The princeps didn’t care, their blood would soon fill the sea and the prophecy would be fulfilled. Their destruction would birth something new.
Deception was not unknown to him, but the legio’s combat doctrine was as direct and aggressive as their princeps and this subterfuge and attention to ritual was always a tiring affair, some part of the manifold in him stirred with impatience. He reassured himself he had not fully concealed the truth from these poor souls as they may yet still find themselves in the palace of some god, just not one of their own.

A guttural series of deep throat singing and distant unseen drumming grew steadily in intensity, the princeps could sense it would not be much longer, even across the vast sunlit bay the stars began to pulsate, the void quaked in recognition of what was to come. A strange sense he had been here before fell over the princeps as if remembering some half forgotten dream.

All five elders reached their arms to the heavens, the throat singing ceasing and the unseen drummers falling silent. They reached for a small pouch on in their robes containing a flask of sacred oils. In unison they emptied the small flask of yellow liquid over their heads and proceeded to prostrate themselves before the princeps.

A small robed figure strode out from the mass of bodies and presented the princeps with a torch, the head of which had been fashioned to resemble the skull of some local predator. The robed figure spoke, it’s voice was young, sounding like a child.

“Ashgkar! Feysho! Kah-nashi ermasa otosh!”

“They impend, you must light the fire.”

The princeps had understood the tribal utterances, but pointed all the same to the prostrate and oil soaked elders arrayed before him and looked back to the short robed figure, as if unsure of his part in all of this.
The princeps stepped forward, his ceremonial white body glove backlit by the setting sun and he touched the torch to the oil at their feet.

“The palace of the gods” He declared mockingly as the he lit the last of the elders aflame.

The five men made no sound as their flesh burned. The princeps was genuinely impressed by this display, the pain must have been unimaginable he thought.
He lost himself in the flame, the elders bodies toppled over, he hadn’t even noticed crowd assembled around him had produced ceremonial blades and had slit their wrists. He only wrenched himself back into the moment when the masked crowd turned from their gaze on the pyre to look back towards the coast.

They had followed the specifications he had passed on to them perfectly, the edifice they stood on was built with a purpose and the blood running down from their wrists collected into the super structure and streamed down stone channels directly disgorging into the sea.
The water in the bay turned crimson, steadily reaching the the feet of the princeps warlord titan, the “King in Yellow” which stood like a silent guardian in the middle of the bay.

The princeps began to weep, the smile never leaving his face as he proceeded down the steps of the vast stone temple. Looking out at the bay he could see the silhouette of his engine, it’s white helm’s targeting optics were glowing with an unnatural red hue. He could somehow commune with the engine and this connection grew stronger.

The moment the princeps stepped into the frothing crimson sea, the king in yellow let out an ear splitting bellow of its war horns sending thousands of local avians flying into the air from coastal tree tops. The princeps strode out through the shallow water, his white bodyglove now thoroughly stained red. He reached out for the great engine, placing his hand firmly on its cold ceramite hull. The princeps could see the first of the crane ships coming in along the coast. In amazement, some of the cultists were still standing in their seemingly endless observance of the king in yellow.

He could see one of the crane ships securing its fasteners around a reaver titan back on land. The princeps personal shuttle now crept down the shoreline, halting in front of him and extended its boarding ramp into the water. A familiar face greeted him from the head of the ramp. It pointed to the princeps and back to the water.

“The prophecy said total immersion; I won’t remind you of the importance of this.”

The princeps rolled his eyes at the scolding and immersed himself entirely in the sea of red frothing liquid. Emerging once more totally stained he walked up the ramp the end of which was already beginning to retract.

“Is it done?”

He walked past the familiar face without making eye contact. A noticeable silence was his reply.

“Well?” The princeps inquired again.

The scolding voice canted something in binary and plugged an unseen mechandrite from its robe into a port on the wall.

“The pattern is incomplete, pict data shows one star remains” It replied.

The princeps barked back “I’ve seen them with my own eyes, they’re pulsating, I can feel the king’s machine spirit from here, like I could interface with the manifold without hard plugs”

“That’s impossible!” The voice shrieked back.

The last cultist looked on in amazement as the vast crane ship swept in and started to cradle the warlord in its rigging. Its aspect being lifted out of the water and into the heavens was the last thing his eyes would ever see. A single tear ran down the cultists tattooed face, his frame toppling over on to the bodies a level below, his blade still firmly clutched in his hand.

The shape of a coffin ship was now visible on the horizon through the shuttle's main viewport. The princeps glanced back at the source of the scolding voice as if to predict the words it was about to speak.

“The last star is pulsating, the ritual is complete.”

The king in yellow’s war horns began to blare again as it was swallowed by the vast hold of the coffin ship.

The princeps turned and looked at the crane ship ahead of him disappear into the cavernous gantry of the coffin ships open hold, an excited grin filling his face.

“The Warmaster will be pleased.”

+++++

My project for this week was I just sourced AT starters from Italy and cancelled the order from Germany that's been outstanding for 2 months.

While I haven't printed that model (which is fantastic by the way), it is possible to make something similar using just plastic parts if you have some kicking around

In other fun fact news, Eldar Wraithguard fit really well in Titanicus scale for those thinking of trying out a new army...

Hey, has anyone done anything cool with custom decals?

The usually-OOP legio decals have bits shaped to go straight on Warlord shins and such, does any 3rd party sell them precut like that? Or did anyone make a stencil for cutting sheets of checkers into that shape?

Not custom but the old guard decal sheet, the kind the cadians may still come with, has a tonne of really useful tiny decals, it's all white however but there's a lot of tiny skulls to show engine kill markings.

You can just go over a white decal with a colour to make it look how you want. Contrasts are particularly effective:
Spoiler:

The left shoulder is obvious but you can also just make out the numeral on the right.

Ya true, good point.

1650pts game, 4 objectives, Engine war scenario ( https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/60/787202.page#10920502 ). We didn't play with legio rules because it was a friends first game so we wanted to keep it simple. Both side still chose a maniple and princeps seniores/trait.

Wonderful, thanks for the pictures!

Automatically Appended Next Post:
And it's time for the weekly progress pictures.
So this week I did:

- 8 Cerastus Atrapos (I hate resin)
- 9 Questoris
- printed a lot of walls from GrimDark Terrain

And the full shelf:

Upcoming: more Cerastus (27 left + 8 Styrix and Magaera), probably more 3D printing.

Time for this week's progress report.
Managed to finish 18 Questoris Knights this week:

Also printed some stuff, which I'm not too happy about (lots of warped parts).

And the shelf:

Upcoming:
Remaining Questoris (9 + 3 to redo for magnets), Styrix and Magaera.
After that, there are some weapons left to build for all sizes of Titans.

Legio Atarus is coming along! I'm almost done with a Dominus Battleline Maniple.

Starting to play with the GrimDark Terrain walls kits for my use. Slow going in getting enough prints together for what I have planned...

Not sure whether to base this sort of set up for scatter on a mousepad mat (5mm MDF base is what I normally use) or make terrain tiles.

Terrain tiles look loads better but cause storage headaches and need more maintenance as the sand/glue always gets chipped off the corners... Hmmm... choices.

I find it's better to keep it loose on the mat instead of basing it. The primary reason is you can make things destructible.

Obviously that's a lot of parts, I guess glue everything but wall section so you can remove them as needed.

Setup time would be the biggest factor for some, I find. Do you enjoy fiddling with the table during play and aren't bothered by an extra hour or two? Go loose. Do you want it to just snap together with mild positional variations? Put it on tiles.

Now me, I love me some loose detail everywhere. If only the house was big enough for a dedicated game room with a stable table

Can't you just put holes in the stl to accept magnets? Would solve problems while giving you that "installed" look & some resistance to knocking apart.

I hope when I get my printer I have half as much fun as y'all. Terrain is my jam and 3d printing is the toast!

Trivial to put in magnet holes, but then you probably have to resupport everything.

Has anyone tried printing the chunkier parts (walls) in FDM?

I'd like to see some wrecked portions so you can have section be destructible a bit like medieval total war's walls during a siege.

A bit late for the weekly progress, sorry about that!

I finally finished assembling/magnetizing all my basic Questoris Knights:

Here is the shelf this week (I had to remove the train to fit all Knights):

I also took advantage of the beautiful weather and spent a couple Leadbelcher sprays to prime most of the Knights.
Now onto the Styrix and Magaeara Questoris, last straight road for assembly unless of course GW decides to release something this week (oh, wait)!

Time for the weekly progress report!
This week is important to me, because I finished assembling all of my Knights with the Magaera/Styrix Questoris variants:

This means all my chassis for Knights and Titans are done (at least until I receive the 2 Warmasters I just pre-ordered)

After this, I started cleaning things up and finished the Warlord weapons:

Here is the shelf:

Now onto the Reaver weaponry (10 sprues left + a couple of FW Carapace weapons), and the Warhounds Claws.

Everyone in this thread is and also

Quick question: Does GW have the Warbringer Nemesis command terminal as a downloadable PDF somewhere? I can only find the 2019 file with the three basic Titans plus the Questoris and Cerastus.

I know there's one in the box, but I had a mad thought about a proxy/converted model for the Warbringer (something something Necron Doomstalker something something Martian tripod...) and would need to get a terminal from elsewhere.

Thanks for the tip about there being one in the 5-pack now. I'll have to think of a way to do the weapon cards too...

Angel on shoulder: No Zen, you should spend your limited cash on something sensible, like a box of Civitas buildings. You don't even have any of those yet.

I use bigger MDF buildings for Titanicus, from an Aussie site called BPLaser.

The GW Civitas ones don't look like they give enough height to block LOS without buying heaps. Reckon they'd work better for Epic. Same with the Spires and industrial GW kits (which I do have).

I mainly want the Civitas kit for panel detailing bits rather than freestanding buildings. Which is unfortunately not as compelling to my hobby urge as a ridiculous Martian tripod conversion.

Don't forget the Nuka-Cola sign!

Reminds me of that old optional rule in Epic 40K where an angry farmer would take potshots at your troops if you moved them too close to the homestead. Although that would be a little trickier to make believable in AT. "Get off my land, yer gargantuan mechaniculated varmint!"

Yeah those plastic kits are awesome! They are going to make up the bulk of my terrain when I finally have the space to break them all out of storage. I particularly recommend the ruined city set, it lets you get a huge amount of board covereage and also works really well as bits to decorate a base with.

The arms have pre cut 6×2mm holes in the same place you’d find them on a Warlord. The missile launcher literally just drops in, no need for a magnet, though you could add one if you wanted.
The AA guns/mortars are all pre-cut for 3×1mm magnets as well, and you get four of each in the set for maximum customisation.
The shoulder/bicep guns don’t have pre cut holes at all. I drilled the mounts out to 4mm but you could just as easily make 3mm fit and put 2mm in the actual weapons.
If you want to make the knee guns swappable, you’ll need to find a way to make the shin plate detachable too, because the lascannon are a through-mount from the back of the plate.
The other point defence weapons don’t have any options so I didn’t even think about those.

There's rules for some beasts in the doom of molech book, I think they're part of a scenario for knights but easy to port. I think they say like aprox 40mm base size so they may not be a big threat to titans even if you change the rules and have them attack titans too. There's a scenario in crucible of retribution where you place a bunch of beast nests that attack people who get to close, in the molech one I think they come out of the nests if stirred by knights and just b-line towards the closest unit.

Me and my buddy whipped this up a while back, basically 6 random types of beasties from not to scary to really scary. Basic idea is you put down whatever model feels appropriate for what you roll. Could plonk down a necron thing or a little ork stompa on a 40-50mm.

Been messing around with a 3D printer the last week or so, really opens up a whole lot of possibilities for this game!

Still ironing out the kinks and all the tricks to get the perfect print but fortunately any little miscasts on the titan can just be painted up as some battle damage.

Now all I need is some rules for a three legged titan...

If you can't find one that you like, you can always make your own custom legio rules from the ryza book. That or just make up your own scheme and just play as an existing legio. I'd actually recommend checking out the wargear section at the back, reason being its one of the biggest changes in the book, before you could only by wargear available to your legio, now there's universal wargear any legio good or bad can take in addition to some loyalist only wargear still available to all loyalist factions. Before that it was tough because some legios didn't even have special wargear, just a stratagem that might work in a similar fashion to wargear (assign it to titan turn one generally).

An idea I toyed with recently--because it took me so long to settle on a Legio--was to paint the models in a camouflage scheme, e.g. for ash wastes or desert world, like they did in the Epic 40K days. Then one shoulder pad or plate could bear the Legio's specific colours, like the shoulder pad of a Techmarine or Librarian showing his Chapter. You could paint several plates and swap them whenever you wanted to try a new Legio.

It would be a little tricky to arrange for the Warhounds though...

The trouble with AT (#firstworldproblems ahoy) is that there are so many Legios that you might not find the one that really suits your playstyle until you've tried lots of games.

Yeah that's why the custom legio rules are so great, you can really make a legion with a playstyle you like.

Bah, didn’t arrive yesterday.

Still, we’ve got a long weekend here in the U.K., so I’ve certainly got time to be hobbying.

The old depression has also been rearing its head, so hopefully some hobby will distract the weasels long enough. Also got the Silent King to paint, which was a Christmas present from my girlfriend. Haven’t been able to crack on due to lack of Grey Seer spray, which has now been rectified.

Oh joy, oh rapture!!!

Shall dig out the blutak later, as a stand-in for magnets until I find them or reorder.

Also, going over the data terminal and book entry for the Warmaster, it seems the shoulder weapons needn’t be a matched pair?

So I could, for example, have a Turbo Laser for hitting Titans, and an Inferno Cannon to get Knights off my back?

I see your fancy 3D-printed train sets and raise you a cheap windup Chinese toy!

Found mine in a discount variety shop for $5 AUD. (For comparison, just one base for a Reaver Titan costs $7 AUD from GW.) Came with enough track to make an oval layout. The engine is nicely chunky and AdMechy--just needs the cow-catcher removed and the big wheels concealed with side plates. I'll put side plates on the cars as well.

NB: This toy does indeed have a 'Wide Range of Selection'. There are about a dozen different packaging versions online, with various types of cars. I got one with a flatbed ore carriage and a fuel tank. The cars are just snap-fit and can be easily taken apart if you want to add your own freight.

Also found some cylindrical plastic dropper bottles in the same shop--silos!--plus packs of thin wooden rectangles ideal for basing industrial terrain. Walked out with enough to make a decent little refinery complex for peanuts. And it cost peanuts, too. (I'm here all week folks.)

Raah, progress!

Flagellum Dei, the Scourge of God, joins the ranks of the Ashen Gods this day.

Nomen est omen and so on, the tasty irony in the naming being that though the Great Crusade was a secular endeavour, Legio Favilla was most often unleashed only after peaceful negotiations had been rebuffed and a complete eradication of opposing civilizations was requested. Thus, like a divine retribution of whatever deities they might have bowed to, did the resisting planets bring on themselves their doom until only ashes remained.

A bit of freehand training this time, couldn't find suitable transfers so I just painted the whip then

As ever, click 'em bigger.

Been building my Warmaster Titan. And he is a proper choncc!

Overall, a very satisfying build. They’ve certainly put more thought into the construction of the legs, as unless you’re going for reposing, it’s pretty much impossible to go wrong. And reposing shouldn’t require a whole lot of work either.

Looking at the construction of the armpit weapons, I don’t think I’m going to worry about magnetising, as good old blutak will do the same job for an absolute fraction of the bother. Should just be clipping off the peg, and putting the blutak into the slot.

The Chaos Warhound and Reaver would be ideal candidates for a Traitor Legios book, as they are already available as 40K Forgeworld kits. Both would be bestsellers with Chaos players - even those who don't play Titanicus...

That said, we might be looking at a new kit for knights. We're still missing the Asterius after all, and knight armies could do with a counter measure to the Warmaster...

Decided to get back into AT a little while between projects, little bit of extra work done to this Reaver. Pretty happy with it, although I'm still wondering if it'd be worth getting a Warmaster or 2 Nemesis' next.

What's everyone's overall thoughts on the Warmaster? To me it seems too many points, perhaps that and a couple of Warhounds and you're close to maxed out already.

Assuming one is playing a small game like that, it's probably too expensive to be of much use while being eaten alive. That's intentional and good.

Now, in bigger games where you aren't outmaneuvered every single moment...

The Warmaster is too high in points, size and power to include in small games( 750-1,500 points ). But thats fine because its designed for large scale games anyway.

I suppose if you don't fancy assembling a load of Warlords, then the 'Master is a good alternative.

Little clip video, I painted my legio before the official paint job was released by gw so it doesn't exactly match. Legio Venator's got their cognomen from the giant arachnid megafauna they hunted to extinction on their forge world of arachnus, and thus they became the "Iron Spiders". The custom legio rules from ryza are worth a look, would allow you to try a few things out before comfiting to any one legion. One sorta trap is loving a legio's scheme but no their rules. But that's the good thing about custom legio rules, you can have your cake and eat it too so to speak. U thinking loyalist or traitor? There's also blackshield factions now. Tritonis is one of them.

Thanks mate - I'll be honest I primarily bought the set to use the Titans in Epic. The 2 Reavers and 2 Warhounds should be a pretty good spread for a fairly large Epic army, and it worked out much cheaper than buying them separately.

I will hope to get to AT games eventually when I've got some suitable terrain built up. I had thought of 'Warped Dogs' as I loved the brief bit of background about them in the old Adeptus Titanicus game about the entire Legion being destroyed by Terra's defence lasers during the final assault. Are those about in AT now? Otherwise I would probably go for Legio Metalica as I love the classic Epic colour scheme and also they have the coolest/least pretentious-sounding latin name!

Finally put the finishing touches on the Punisher Titan, it ended up looking pretty good in the end despite my painting skills being incredibly rusty. I didn't go too crazy on the detailing but I managed to completely hide any little areas that had printed badly as battle damage and the overall design now looks pretty badass!

Now all I need to do is procure (or print) a base that will fit this monster. i was planning on using a Warlord sized one but it turned out to be waaay too small. There should be plenty of empty space though so I will have to get creative and build a whole mini diorama under its feet...

Got the acastus knight asterius painted. I only planned on doing one so I figuered I'd give it a unique paint job more in line with the mechanicum. The gun kit is from vanguard. Gave it a inquisition symbol because I had one left in etched brass, maybe a bit early for that but I figuer it goes on secrete missions for malcador. I like the shot of it next to the ordinatus crawler, you can really see how big the ordinatus is.

I made a part to fill that gap in Fusion 360 and I'm currently printing the parts that I need to make that work for me.

Yeah, I want all six options interchangeable and didn't want to blue-tac the weapons into the mounts. So I made myself more mounts, ready with recesses for magnets.
That opens the door for me to just have magnets left and right and pop in whatever weapon I want for WYSIWYG.

Looks pretty cool, not sure how much of it will translate to like 6-8mm but I could see enough stacked together would look like cool, the fruit and bottles stand out most obviously because of the colour. If you could do the pieces in themed basing sets like "urban, desert village, alien world" ect it'd be cool. What is lacking a lot for AT is nice little trees/cactus/shrubs/plans at that scale, also stuff like wounded/dead bodies or wrecked civilian vehicles.

The crates with fruit were kinda meant for a market place like setting. The gun and ammo crates are more easily used on bases/dioramas with soldiers.

As for themes, I was thinking of a theme like 'logistic bits' which would contain various types of crates, barrels, suitcases, etc. They would of course be supported by civilians, basically servants who are designated to carry luggage:

Regarding the plants, how about some potted plants?

Cool, they'd be great for making custom objective markers with a bit of character.

It's a bit dark but bodies in varies poses or various kind of bodies (civilian and military) possibly even in or partially under rubble would be good for titan bases. Even just wounded troops or civies would be cool cuz there are some cool medic models out here. Dead servitor or mechanicum looking models would be cool for basing too.

I really like the idea of stand alone huts/shops very middle eastern bazaar style.

It always impresses tp see the final product painted, renders never do justice. Also on the stl side it shows how clean they print ect.

It's a tangent but, one thing the game could really use is some more counters. For starters, something to indicate which titan the princeps seniores are in, perhaps counters to place next to titans to indicate their void shields are down, a counter for titans affected by quake, with the new universal wargear, I find myself taking bastion shields a lot, they're one use only so a counter that would sit on the terminals as a reminder would be cool. No one's really done custom opus titanica's or objective markers for AT, not to mention I've seen very few alternate files for the little terminals pips.

One thing grimdark terrain includes every month is a new shield for titans with legio symbol, june was legio mortis. If these are secret surprises not shown in any commercial promotion you're likely fine, also gw and fw have never bothered to to any legio specific sets for armour or symbols. But anyway, stuff that skirts the ip line but always couched as a bonus could help on the patreon front. Also good for word of mouth.

I feel like you probably want one person, for consistency. The good thing is you don't necessarily have to trust them with the stl's if you already have a printer and can just send the models. I always like when vanguard show's stuff painted, makes a big difference.

When you do get around to doing a release would it be possible for you to put them on a print service like Shapeways as well?

I'm working on a terrain project in Titanicus scale but haven't been able to find a public use printer near me and my apartment is too small to work with resin unfortunately.

What I've noticed several Patreon's do is that one of their subscription tiers allows for Print on Demand services to sell the printed versions of the models. I might go for something like that.

As for Shapeways, personally I'm not too fond of it. I used to have a shop on there back in the day, but their constantly changing pricing policies and generally rather inferior quality really bugged me off.

Perfectly reasonable. I don't have much experience with Shapeways so I didn't know that.

If you were able to offer a print on demand option I'd greatly appreciate it.

After a lot of head scratching I've ordered a pair of Armiger Warglaives, with the intention of using them as alternative melta-chainfist reavers until new AT titans are announced. They fit the bill as quick to assemble & paint and something different to look at.

That and they look badass!

Still need the right bases tho for reavers, as the armigers are on like 80-100mm circular bases I believe.

A good point but we have that covered, although it will require creating custom plasticard firing-arc templates. Take the one for the warhound and place it on top of the reaver firing arc. Line up the bottom corners and the solution presents itself...

However, this is not adviseable for tournament play as even if they do accept the highly unorthodox custom arc template, the Armigers are sadly taller which will lead to problems with line of sight. But for practice games at a club its sound enough.

The 105mmx70mm bases are available separately, might also be third party ones cheap on ebay. They ship fast cuz they fit through the mailslot.

There is always the option of pegs on the feet for swapping out bases, I suppose.

The Armigers arrived in the post today and oh my they were worth the £35 I paid for them. Very large dudes indeed!

Some grand Titanicus slam tonight!

1750 points of Favilla's hyper-aggressive Ferrox pain-train took on a two-player Krytos / Fureans alliance, facing off on a desert world tainted by a foul, toxic atmosphere (which could worsen critical damage over time) and wracked by a painful, daemonic presence (which made machine spirits even more unruly than usual). Both sides were trying to break deeply into the other's lines.

A perfect display of Titanicus as a game: first turn was agressive maneuvering, followed by a wild firestrom, third turn nuclear annihilation and a fourth turn mop-up of those still standing. My Ashen Gods took the field by Full Striding through the line on the first turn while the opposition dillydallied in their corner, losing the momentum and then getting slaughtered with their backs to the wall. While the result was a blowout 35-7 points and 6-2 casualties for Favilla's favour, the game was hugely fun for all involved and a rematch shall surely follow in time. All the beautifully painted and visually distinctive armies don't hurt, either

My favourite moment was at the end, as my teleporting Clawlord finally got a Charge on the opposing Deus Victrix and tore his reactor heart out in one neat display of four Critical Hits to the body. Fists for days!

Not often enough, given the difference between the kills it would have been somewhat gauche of me to do so everytime a chainfist uppercut ripped another machine in half in one while my poor doggos still clung to life though shot into criticals on pretty much every location

Hounds just wouldn't die today, but the Hound of the match would still be Cineres Immensi. Our twinferno barbeque master redlined through the table and singlehandedly immobilized a Reaver in place before kicking it to death next turn.

Wish me luck everyone, I printed up an Imperator and now have to actually paint the thing to a decent standard. Any suggestions on how to support it so the weight of the torso doesn't make it constantly want to break at the waist and leg sections? I'm guessing pinning and some gorilla glue might be my best bet...

I really like the subdued orange colour on those titans, looks simple but very striking!

Looks like I have a race to get my Emperor titan finished first now as well! I prefer the bastion legs on that one to the pieces I printed, is it from a different file or did you (or your opponent) just tweak the files afterwards?

I think he's mixing and matching from different files or remixes of files which is why the scale is so big, I'm impressed he managed to get it to fit on the warlord base

With these Forge-Fanes I hope to have enough interesting terrain pieces to equip my own table for good looking terrain sized for AT. The buildings are constructed with building blocks from Grimdark Terrain. I have a handful of GW plastic buildings and will build some rocks/hills as needed from XPS foam. Together with a red-desert game-mat this should be a fair representation of a battle fought in some less busy corner on the Forge-World Mars.

I have finally finished my first of the new AT Titans. I have to say what a cracking kit, really shows how far the miniatures have come along over the years.
I've tried to copy the classic colour scheme (Legion Metalica/Iron Skulls).
Initially it's going to be used in Epic in support of Great Crusade-era World Eaters, but I have the AT Starter Set (as well as a very kind birthday gift of a Warmaster) so will hopefully get those painted up and have a go at AT at some point.

Behold, Castigator Rex !

Battle reports, ahoy!

Last weekend saw some titanic action as the green line of Krytos and Solaria thundered forwards against the Ashen Gods of Favilla. On this wartorn industrial world, lightning and artillery bombarded the area incessantly as the comms lit up: the Very Important Ultramarines (in their Land Raiders, objective markers) must be extracted from the clutches of Death Guard before it is too late.

We had a bit of fun in a four player setup, giving control of the main flow of command to the players who had full maniples on the field while one lad wanted to test his Warmaster out as support and I played my Psi-Titan and some knights in support of the new player trying out a Corsair trio of my Reavers. We used a smaller hand of custom stratagems for expediency.

Both sides quickly sped forwards to claim one of the Land Raiders, before everything went to hell for the alliance.

Before the second Krytos Hound got a chance to vaporize the knights who came to claim the Raider, they executed a daring dash backwards and sped into safety, though one of their number was soon blown apart by a Basilisk battery.
The Hound in question, though, was utterly atomised by the arcane contraption in Aetheris-Anathema's hand as if its shields were not even there. A dark blast of unreality shot forwards and in an unnervingly silent moment, the inner parts of the Warhound ceased to exist this side of the Veil as the charred outer remains crumbled into wreckage on the ground.

At the green corner, the Ultramarines were being escorted into relative safety while the titans turned their guns against the incoming sneaky Cerastoi.

One did make it through the rain of plasma undeterred, though, and charged in. Slamming its lance through the heart of the other Warhound, they tangled together in death as the Hound exploded like a miniature sun.

In the other direction, the two big chonkers had been firing away at the incoming Reavers, of which Flagellum Dei got blasted apart in a radiation cloud as its tortured shields could take no more and huge balls of roaring plasma ripped through its structure. This, however, did nothing to prevent the horror that was the Psi-Titan from ravaging the Warmaster from afar. First shot tore through its sides, coolant leaking in torrents from the wound as it backed behind the large office building in vain hope of gaining cover. This was not to be, however, as the second beam of nightmares vaporized said office block in contempt and smashed into the god-machine behind. There was a screech of dying metal, followed by a blinding explosion as the remains blew sky high, unleashing the caged power of the plasma reactors within.

Alarmed and struck in the legs by the debris cloud, the Krytos Warlord Deus Invictrix blinked for a moment too long and allowed one of the Reavers, Ruina Superborum, to close in and grip it by the cojones with its fists. The wounded giant was soon toppled, smashed into the ground and screaming its last as it was sawn apart.

They day belonged to the Ashen Gods.

It was kinda funny having the two biggest beasts on the table, but the circumstances conspired to show how the Psi-Titan is the perfect counter to a Warmaster. It has range to touch whatever it sees, pin it in place with psionic Quake shots and then rip it in half with automatic hits that bypass shields, rendering the formidable defences of the Warmaster obsolete in face of such reckless hate while the bigger fella is out of effective counterattack range.

Naturally, it is only a Warlord chassis with all associated weaknesses and some extras, but if left to its own devices on a large board, it's living its best life. Leave one unharried at your own peril.

New kits out!

Smallscale speaker boxes

These speaker boxes are great for those who'd love to kitbash in smallscale (6mm / 8mm). Whilst originally designed for 6mm / 8mm scales, these might also work for bigger ones. You might want to check the details when going bigger than 15mm scale.

This set contains the following parts:
- 3 types of individual speakers
- 10 individual handing speakers
- 4 types of racked hanging speakers
- 9 combinations of stacked speakers
- bonus worker

https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/game/smallscale-speaker-boxes

Smallscale graveyard

Bring out your dead! This kit will allow you to easily build cemeteries in 6mm / 8mm scales. The necropolis structure and graves are modular, allowing for many different combinations to be made.

This kit contains the following parts:
- modular necropolis (crypts with terminal, crypts, roof)
- modular graves (4 graves, 4 gravestones)
- 3 caskets
- 6 dead bodies*
- 9 bundles of candles

Please do not share of sell these files without my written permission!

*one of the corpses might have an orientation issue on the faces, the software are contradicting one another. Which is why I've included two versions of it. Please let me know if there are any issues!

https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/game/smallscale-cemetery-kit

Smallscale cacti

These cacti will allow you to decorate your smallscale terrain and bases. Whilst originally designed for 6mm or 8mm scale, they should also work for larger scales if resized.

The kit contains the following bits:
- 28 potted cacti
- 13 unpotted cacti
- 8 empty pots

Smallscale vending machines

Even in the grimdark future one might need a quick drink or snack! These vending machines are suitable for many smallscale (6mm or 8mm) projects, but could also be resized for bigger stuff. I wouldn't recommend going bigger than 15mm without redoing the details.

This set contains the following bits:
- 10 different vending machines
- 3 drunk workers

- ventilated shipping container
- long shipping container (39.5mm long x 13.5mm tall x 11mm wide)
- 6 types of standard containers converted into market stands
- 8 types of container hatches

Count as knight styrix's. Tried my best to fill out the bases to give them a bit more height, didn't quite get them as tall as I would have liked except for the one on the coil. Took some shots next to the count as cerastus which are about the right height and you can see they're mostly a bit too short, ah well. Going to run them as having dual hekaton siege claws, basically just imagining it as a short ranged cutting laser shot from their eyes.

Preparing for our upcoming Titanicus mega-battle at the club, might have to actually paint at least one new titan before it

First I've got to write the special stratagem deck and get it printed though...

It'll be awesome with dozens of titans on the field at once!

We had nine players, each with a maniple, so the loyalists had 26 titans vs. the traitors' 21. I gave each traitor player one banner of knights (Acastus or Cerastus) as support to even it out a bit.

We could have had much more on the table, but this setup was sensibly playable and only took eight hours to complete

Battle of the Sundered Dreams, 16.10.2021

---

Once, we shared a dream. Of unity, of purpose and kinship. With the fury of a thousand suns such notions are shattered in bitter struggle as camaraderie turns into hate and poisons the hands that once clasped as one. Words turn to anger, posturing into ground-shaking tread of titans and blame into action.

The first trigger was pulled and a world forever thus doomed.

----

Nine players, 47 God-Machines and 12 Knights, let's goooooo!
(could have had more engines, but we settled for one maniple + support per player to get this played in one day)

I wrote a custom mission, seen in previous posts, emphasizing both sides' needs to advance towards the six points of interest (3 progressive Victory Point areas, three others for in-game advantages). Players could roll for reserves every round, bringing dead engines once more unto the field.

On the allegedly loyalist side, we had two Astorum maniples (Regia and Corsair), Ignatum (Precept supported by a psi-titan), Gryphonicus (Axiom) and Solaria (Mandatum supported by a Warmaster).

Facing this wall of steel was the wrongly accused Peoples' Heroes line consisting of Fureans (Venator), Krytos (Regia) and Favilla (Ferrox and Extermigus supported by a psi-titan), supported by four Banners of indentured Knights (8 Cerastoi and 4 Acastoi). Given the loyalists were up one player and five titans, I gave one of my knight Banners for each of the traitor commanders to even things a bit.

Given how I usually run extremely mobile danger close attacks with Ferroxes, it was a nice change of pace to lead a no holds barred super-heavy detachment as our anchor in the middle objective. The city center and the Fellblade depot were solidly in Favilla's hands.

The enemy left the middle rather uncontested, with only one Astorum maniple setting up against it.

The loyalists concentrated on their left flank, with three maniples and their psi-titan lording it over that side. Against them, the Ferrox and Venator groups were somewhat outweight'd even with their Cerastus allies.

At the traitors' left, Krytos faced the War Griffons who were boldly claiming targets left and right from the moment it all started, but soon had their plans trashed as over-eager Astorum engines jumped on their turf to escape the line of Favilla's Warlords in the middle.

While the first shots rang through the cool evening air, at the right flank traitors surged forwards and claimed the Death Guard's artillery battery for their aid and took positions along the road.

In the middle, Favilla marches through an anomalous gravity field to force the Astorum forces turn back and fight them while the first ENGINE KILL is sounded after Aetheris-Anathema, the psionic monster, has ravaged the lonely Ignatum warhounds looking for opportunities there. A beam of howling blackness rakes their hulls, bursting shield bubbles and opening targets for the other Warlords to kill. Another Hound and Reaver soon join the burning pile.

The Warbringer Contemptus Mundi has a rowdy spirit, which accidentally pushes it to step on one of the Fellblades, crushing it heedlessly.

The other tanks are swiftly shouted into action, led by Aurora Terribilis against the Astorum.

On the right, the loyalists are taking positions to swamp their protectorate with so much metal it's pretty much un-assailable for the rest of the battle. Sorcerous beams and massed fire start to take their toll on the light traitor forces, who lose multiple Warhounds and Knights in short order.

On the left side, after Krytos had spent inordinate effort in bringing down the shields of Astorum's Warlord Apparator and its supporting Hounds, for the time it seemed like the Gryphons had stormed the objective area long enough that the arrival of Solaria's Warmaster would all but seal its control for the loyalists. However, this was not to be due to the Peoples' Heroes enthusiastic allies. While the continuous rain of fire from the artillery had done its part, a dramatic air charge took place at the target as two Thunderhawks of the XIV screamed down by the ground.

Where there were loyalists, there soon lay three dead or burning Warhounds in the fliers' wake.

If only the Krytos' forces weren't currently wrestling with Gryphonicus Reavers nearby, they way would be open right this instant. As an amusing sidenote, the Apparator, Astorum Warlord that had resisted death for too long, died in glorius ignomity: a Krytos Warbringer shot it in the face with a Quake cannon, failing to cause any significant damage, but pushing it backwards against the Warhound Eclipsor who had been hiding behind it as a void shield battery. In the resulting series of collisions, the Warlord lost any remaining integrity it had in its bombed-out legs and fell on top of Eclipsor, burying it alive and silenced under the body of its giant sibling to the cheers of the artillerymen.

In the middle city, Favilla's uncontested reign was momentarily disturbed by a single Warhound, Dagon, who had been hiding behind one of the megastructures until this moment.

It sprinted behind Contemptus Mundi's shields and nearly melted its feet off before Iudex Ultionis stepped in from behind to kick it to the curb, but the plucky hound wasn't done yet. As the Warlord's foot crushed the brave little machine, its princeps smashed the red button to disengage all safeties. Raging against the dying of the light, its Lucius-forged reactor heart exploded like a miniature sun (automatic Meltdown with +5 to Scale). Their player then managed to consistently roll like 5 Str 12 hits bypassing shields all over the place, which managed to kill and further explode the injured Warbringer nearby while savaging both Iudex and Aetheris-Anathema near death's door.

The psionic monstrosity started regenerating immediately, twisted steel warping back to shape, but the position was suddenly a lot more precarious as Astorum's reserve Warlords started pouring in.

At right flank, while the loyalists held the numerical advantage, they had been effectively stopped in their tracks by the furious light maniples controlling some of the choke points in the area. While the incoming fire was heavy, Favilla's speartip managed to push through and Flagellum Dei charged like a thunderbolt. Unfazed by the storm of gatling fire peppering its armour, it crashed against the Astorum Reaver blocking its way. Disruption fields flickered and burst to life as its power fist tore through adamantium and punched out the heart of its victim, sending its silenced body flying headlong against the other Reaver behind it.

The rest was a blur. At left, Krytos held the ground against the Warmaster best as they could while their engines vaporized. At right, the loyalist advance was kept in check and no further gains could be had. In the middle, while Delictor Profectuum was lost to psi-fire and Ignatum's long range bombing, the renewed Astorum offensive could not finish off the wounded engines as much as they tried, the Ashen Gods seemingly watched over by some darker forces this day as the center burned around them.

By the battle's end, no clear victor had risen from the struggle while bleeding and burning engines of all colours littered the field here and there. VP's stood somewhere between 370-390, with the Peoples' Heroes edging a 25 point lead. With less than 10 % difference in the scores, a bitter tie would be a fine description for this grave of men and machines.

I was there and saw with eyes then young, how the Dream was torn asunder.

Thanks for reading, happy wargaming.

Grimdark Terrain Quality is awesome. The designs are great thematically, work well as building blocks for your designs,
AND! they print exceptionally well, since he test prints all of them prior to release and makes adjustments as needed.

Built some hawk wargames cityscape buildings. They're 10mm but seem to work pretty well for AT. Took some shots with the 4 main titan sizes for scale. There's still another 8 buildings but they're so big and tall I don't even see the point in using them for AT, The buildings are little glossy but the colours are nice.

Thanks dude

I dunno, if I'm honest I trust them to make models but I don't trust them to implement xenos into AT too well. I don't trust GW to balance them,, but as an exercise in conversion and count as I'm all for it xenos forces. I could definitely see count as orks working with a mix of gargants (titans) and stompas as knights. Eldar I think it a bit tougher to implement, maybe with the new mutations or with custom legios someone could whip something up. As cool as the models are, my fear of them in game if it were GW is they'd all be flying around manga style and sorta make a mockery of the core game in terms of maneuvering and initiative.

Christopher Parry does some amazing eldar titans. He's posts them in a few of the AT/epic groups on facebook.

It's not for lack of wanting to see eldar titans on the board, it's just we couldn't trust gw not to mess up volkites or an entire new titan release. How they wouldn't mess up eldar seem impossible. Hell, even with AT, the joke is calling it knightanicus because its seems gw got a good game from a good designer then immediately moved away from its core concepts as soon as they possibly could. They'd totally f eldar up if they even attempted it.

Gotta say, away from the News thread...really gutted about the Armigers not being plastic. I want to hope that they'll be £15, but FW is just silly on their prices.

Still, at least their 40K counterparts are incredibly good for their price, working out at £22.50 per armiger. I've got next week off and looking forward to finishing this chap and doing more on his sibling...

...and maybe use a proper camera and lighting, while I'm at it. Might consider a pair of Helverins if the AT Armigers are too expensive...or maybe even an even larger knight? Maybe a Dominus just to REALLY annoy other players? Mwhahahaha!

Ah dear...

Nice colour choices, I like the face. It will funny to see what the cost per little armiger is compared to a 28mm one

The litle necron warriors I ordered from vanguard came in, so I started putting them on all the necron titan and knight bases.

Spoiler:

Cheers. I was aiming for something that wouldn't look out of place in a Thousand Sons army.

Your Necrons are rather awesome. The BSF Drones and Scarabs alone make for a decent game of Horizon Wars, as P1 Mechs and Heavy Infantry.

I tell ya', if it werent for that game I'd totally lose my rag with titanicus...

I would do a corrupted titan if they actually had a proper plastic kit of some description.

Here's a thought; using Blackshield rules and Ork Aeronautica kits for a bit of kitbashing, one could probably do a nice Ork-themed Knight House. Looted Questoris and all that jazz.

Knight houses are no fun to play against sadly. I'm fine with a list with a lot of knight but without titans, so many parts of the game just sorta fall of. I feel like orks are do-able but gotta be big ass gargants/mega gargants that count as titans. Then just take whatever custom legio/mutations that work. Some of the khorn sounding cc oriented mutations could work well for orks, they're a bunch of hot heads anyway so it'd make sense they'd go running off lookin to punch stuff.

Triple volcano you say?

My second Warbringer!

Had a game the other night. First time out for my original Warbringer as part of an Arcus maniple and my opponent brought his Warbringer out for the first time as well, part of a precept maniple. Bad case of new model syndrome for both of us! We used the Open Engine War cards and generated pitch black (can't shoot anyone outside of 12") and shattered world (randonly determined section of the board is annihilated along with any models in that section). Well, his Warbringer ended up chasing one of my Warhounds around for most of the game and on the last turn, finally, it got to shoot just two weapons at it and knocked a single shield off my Warhound. As for my Warbringer, well, on the first turn it used a Warhound spotter to annihilate three Cerastus Knights and then had the board he was standing in gets shattered so was removed from play. You can see him standing forlornly to the side of the table in one photo. Poor thing

The wabringer looks glorious, damn shame about the scenario. One of the things that's good about the cards is you can pull some of the crazier ones, wasn't a fan of the shattered world one, felt like affected the game too much. One of the ones I remember that was cool, I think the whole battlefield was like in low water so when you vented plasma it kicked up steam and made the titan -1 to hit but all its shooting was also -1 cuz it was like in a cloud of vapor.
