Current Map of Dawn is in the N3 core book-- the one with all the background. Not the rulebook.
Army V has the new Janissary profiles. Missile Launcher and, Lol, A new BSG profile with a tinbot.
I like signage too, adds flavor and makes it feel a bit more lived in.
There are a few sets floating around online, you can also just use a little photoshop (or paint if you prefer) magic to trim up pretty much any scifi thing you like to fit to the bilboards once printed.

Have couple of questions;
1. What books have the Sectorial Armies?
2. I keep hearing about a map of Dawn, where is it?
Thanks in advance.
The book "Human Sphere" has the sectorial armies, however the N3 reprint of HS is....within a year I think. However the N2 HS book will have what you need to know. The map of dawn is in the fluff half of the N3 rule book.
Whatever happened with the infinity wiki?
It would be nice to have that back up and running.
At this point it might be better if CB held off and coordinated the final release of HS with the wiki coming online.

Sorry, "Hardfoam" is what they refer to it as. Sounds like some sort of foamcore type material to me.
Oh, no, those will be one piece, solid buildings then. Not sure exactly what their 'hardfoam' is, but it's some sort of hard resin type material...very durable, I've seen some of their existing pieces using the product and it's decent.
Foamcore would be the card-foam-card board that people use for scratch building terrain.

I think we will find out when HS will be coming next week, BoW just said in their backstage vlog that the stuff they filmed with Carlos is being aired all next week. That filming was about USAriadna (we heard him shouting USA USA in thew background of another video) so I suspect more information will be out during this next infinity week.

Some terrain companies do use foamcore, I can't remember the company name now but the Bourak terrain is foamcore.

The rules for Sectoral Armies and their Linked Teams are in Human Sphere, while the while the lists that tell you how the Sectoral Armies change your awa/unit availabilty are in the back of N3 Unit Profiles book, both of which are available as free PDFs from infunity's site.
Antenocity Workshop has some nice billboards, Hero. They are even official. They also offer display screens en masse. http://www.antenocitisworkshop.com/
The MAS buildings, nice, but I prefer the Warmill ones more. They offer more versatility and are better to play with. They MAS buidlings are a combination of hardfoam and mdf. At least that´s the way they usually do them.
HS should be published closer to the end of this year.
I'm waiting for re-sculpted Joan, non LE release. They'll probably move unto MO after they finish with NCA. Although I'd strongly like to see some Acontecimento projects after NCA. We all know Acontecimento is the only real PanO army until Varuna release.

Still nope. Foamcore is an inner layer of PVC foam with outer layers of paper or cardboard. The foam makes the core.
Plastcraft, who make the Bourak terrain, used 'foamed PVC', or closed cell PVC.
Foamed PVC is called "foamcore" as well. At least in plumbing circles. It's drain pipe with layers of solid PVC over a foamed PVC core. Lighter than solid core pipe but not for pressure.
In case anyone cares...lol
So...do we have any other releases for June not shown?
as opposed to a middle finger to almost everybody who plays the game and can't get to gencon?
Stores that really care can pick them up online either as a service to their customers or to resell at whatever they think fair when they're no longer available
I was under the impression that the exclusives were just alternate sculpts, not a new model with exclusive rules? How does that screw over independent stockists?

Bear in mind that I'm not saying it's a bad thing they do the "GenCon exclusive models", but that's not all they do at GenCon(or other conventions).
They also do a limited release of a big kit, which won't be available to those independents until December/January. This year it looks to be the USAriadna starter set.
Given that the limited releases also tend to be things that nobody would want multiples of but already have existing rules, it becomes a case of flipping off the independents.
Sinful Hero wrote:I was under the impression that the exclusives were just alternate sculpts, not a new model with exclusive rules? How does that screw over independent stockists?
See above.
Also? As of now, the Tabitha Bolt is still the only way for a player to get a "Drop Bear" equipment marker, which would be like if they sold a webstore exclusive Interventor with Fast Panda and then the Interventor box hadn't included the Fast Panda.

Coonskin hat, of course. But cowboy hats? I see them almost daily in my part of the South. Granted I am in a very rural area.
Coonskin hats went out in the '50's, guys. Baseball caps are much more American than anything else these days. Who doesn't own at least one?
That army pack is made of all new minis. Probably the USAriadna starter, the bike, and the werewolf(ves) When it goes to general sale, it looks as if will be three boxes of stuff. My guess. And it will all be available after GenCon, just delayed by some months.
Kanluwen wrote: It's really not. I have lived in the South since I was born, and I have yet to see anyone over the age of 6 wearing a coonskin hat or a cowboy hat.
Clearly you are capable of living in ALL of the south
Kidding aside, I live in Maine, the North Most State in the 48 and my fething neighbors mow their lawns wearing Cowboyhats. They are a thing

And I've in Southern California, South Carolina and Massachusetts - and I've traveled all over the USA - and I've rarely seen "Cowboy Hats" anywhere outside of horse ranches.
If for some reason anyone feels the need to continue the great "Cowboy Hat Debate" they should probably do it somewhere else, and not in this thread!
Nocturnus wrote: Hopefully the new MAS buildings go together better than the old ones. Maybe they'll include proper instructions this time...
Yeah I bought 2 similar kits on different occasions. One snapped together no problem.
The second one, none of the slots fit properly. Had to trim so many joints down to get everything to fit and the laser cutting or whatever didn't go through on so many pieces. Had to go back by hand and cut many out of the sprues.
I've had a bit of a mixed bag with MAS, had one kit that seemed to be a lot of work but others that were fine (say this as the owner of four of their apartment buildings and numerous other bits and pieces!)
In quality terms I found them easier to put together than Sarissa, not as good as 4Ground which are absolute quality kits across their range. Haven't got any of the Warmill stuff yet so couldn't comment on that, although heard that their's is very good as well.
4Ground and Warmill share the same level of quality. I do have buildings from both companies. I do not own any MAS, but friends of mine do and quality does not reach the level of aforementioned companies. Sometimes it is good, sometimes not so good.
It took the e.g. quite some time to realize that the Tau-buildings they offer did not fit together, i.e. the hardfoam part and the wood part were of quite different size and no sanding would have solved the problem.
I dunno where I'd find the funds to buy this upcoming Ariadna pack but... dag... getting pretty interested, maybe as a group holiday gift, people never know what to get my eccentric gamer self anyway.
Werewolves, giant wolves, dirt bike/motorcycles... still gotta see the rest but they're interesting me more than a lot of recent releases.

I was more satisfied with the warsenal buildings. The cum garage, Comanche bunker, and catwalks were much more interesting projects than blocky apartment buildings

They look pretty good. They have that almost high-tech look to them by today's IRL standards, but lower tech than other factions. The bike's bulky engine is especially satisfying.
Dismounted Maverick is an awesome bonus that's relevant to the starter yet not essential.
No not at all cheesy, they look fantastic. That Bike has a great retro thing going for it. I suppose we get better photos soon enough, but, these will do for now. Just had to post something that was not a part of the feeding frenzy about the Age of Sigmar.
My disinterest in getting a USAriadna force evaporated instantly when I saw this. Well done CB. I guess the book has all the sectorial information too, so nobody needs to wait for HSN3.
I think pre-orders are supposed to start 6 July? Wondering what it will cost.
The look of the miniatures is generally fine, but the poses are really uninspired for the most part. Either at ease or general gun pointing. Only the Foxtrot changes it up with being at ease and speaking into a walkie-talkie.
The tall standing Devil Dog... I don't know what's up with his head, but it just doesn't look right. It might be the bulky collar around his head which makes his head look small. The other one is fine. I am guessing one of them is a Dog Warrior and the other an Antipodes, and they work as a combined unit, with the Dog Warrior probably being the controller of the Antipodes.
The bike is good (not super futuristic, thank goodness), but a bit lower to the ground than I would like. I am thinking a razor saw could improve that a fair bit. The bike itself looks a fair bit heavier than something you'd want to go offroad with, so I am guessing it's just more of a highway patrol unit.
Why do the two male grunts get heavy amounts of body armour, and the female gets a slightly sexy pose and what looks to be a sweater with a backpack strap under her boobs? Sigh.
Things which are good about this - LONG SLEEVES! Thank goodness they are finally putting long sleeves back on the Ariadna guys. Was getting annoyed with the increasing amount of bicep bulge which was being sculpted onto even their most regular dudes.
Also the fact that they seem to be toning down the size of the guns, which is great. Still cheesed at the increase in scale of the miniatures though, as these dudes are going to look much larger by comparison.
Was there no individual photo of the Foxtrot Ranger? Hrmmm.
For me, I can't decide whether or not I will pick these up. They do fit in with the current aesthetic, but not with the existing miniatures I already own. And I own pretty much all of them except for some sculpts I think are dingo-ugly (the old Minute Man sculpt for example). And I don't really want to have a force of which looks weird side by side, and I am dead set against buying newer models to replace perfectly fine ones I already have. A lot of these are new units though, so there's that. But I also have access to good proxy miniatures, so I am not hurting for choice.
A nice release though, and glad to see them all come out at the one time as an army deal. Good on CB for putting something like this together.
Well dammit CB, I'm gonna have to order this, aren't I? I don't see a single thing in there that I don't like. I love that the Dog Warrior does indeed have heavy armor. I love that the Devil Dogs are a literal K9 team. I love that the Minutemen don't look stupid anymore. I love that these look like proper soldiers. And I love that there's not a single cowboy hat or six shooter to be seen.
The beasts of war weekender said that the first video of infinity week on monday is an unboxing of this pack. I suspect they will be giving a few away as normal as well.
Yeah, dunno when I'll get it, but I think I probably eventually will.
It looks almost just like Icestorm, except 10 models instead of 15 (though the wolf dudes and bike are larger models) so we ought to expect at least a hundred bucks MSRP right?
With all the unpainted Infinity minis I've got, I probably won't buy it for myself but yeah... it's definitely going on my gift wishlist. I think the imperial raider and select x-wing wave 7 will be getting pushed down a couple of pegs...
I dunno the werewolf's (sorry not up to date on the whole antipode/dogface/dogwarrior/whatever, anyone care to explain the specifics?) revolver is giving me a very Hellboy vibe and I can't see myself disliking it. I mean, don't some people favor revolvers even in this day and age for the mechanical simplicity (no potential to have a bullet jam coming out of the magazine or whatever).
Is foxtrot the guy with the suave utility/fishing hat? I like that guy, especially for his headgear.
Yeah I redacted my comment on that, I was hallucinating people calling the fishing/utility hat a cowboy hat I think. Hardcase 100% has a cowboy hat but he's also got a bow. In the space/future. I'm gonna call him Daryl.
Is that what you call those fishing/utility hats? Boonie hats? Huh. Been wearing one version or another for work for *years* and never realized they had a name.

You just mistook the conversation for including the contents of the box.

It actually has an interesting history, from what I saw after on a whim hitting it up on Wikipedia.
I've always known they're called "boonie hats" but never knew why!
The boonie hat was introduced to the United States Armed Forces during the Vietnam War, when U.S. Army Green Berets began wearing them in the field, along with Australian and Army of the Republic of Vietnam units. These leopard spot or tigerstripe boonie hats were locally procured, the camo cloth was usually salvaged from other uniform items or with the former from a parachute or made up by the tailor. The name is derived from "boonie", the abbreviated form of boondocks (itself originally American military slang derived from Tagalog bundok, "mountain", during the Philippine-American War).
In 1967, the U.S. Army began issuing boonie hats, as the "Hat, Jungle, with Insect Net", made of cotton and wind-resistant poplin, in olive drab, tigerstripe, and ERDL pattern. It was meant to supplement and replace the patrol and baseball caps that had been in service since World War II. As the U.S. military evolved away from a garrison mentality, the boonie hat found a permanent place as part of the uniform of all services. The boonie hat has changed little through the decades since the Vietnam War and was used in the Iraq War and still in the War in Afghanistan as an alternative to the patrol cap. The U.S. military boonie hat has come in a variety of camouflage patterns; the current assortment includes Woodland, three-color desert, UCP, MultiCam, and both desert and woodland versions of MARPAT, as well as the Air Force ABU pattern. The boonie hat is often worn with the wearer's rank insignia pinned to the front, above the branch loops.
Mmmmm... I do believe the pre-order runs from Monday the 6th until GenCon ends.
Man, gonna have to pull the money outta thin air for this one. Seeing as today is my Birthday and all, I think I shall treat myself after having had such a crappy year.
Now... FLGS or Online...
And I love all the models. I cannot wait to see the rules for them. I think Koni or Carlos said the profiles will be shown this week during the BoW Infinity week.
cincydooley wrote: Why do people have such a problem with the cowboy hats and revolvers?

It's not a question of "having a problem with the cowboy hats and revolvers", but rather it's a question of having a problem with the idea of the entire Sectorial being defined by cowboy hats and revolvers.
A large number of European posters on the official forums when it was announced that USAriadna was coming wanted the whole Sectorial to be guys wearing dusters, with cowboy hats, six-shooters and things like that.

Ahhh...
Yeah, I wouldn't want the whole sectorial to be like that, no more than I'd want the whole french sectorial to be standing around with their hands up.

I'm all for that. CB just needs to fund the alternate take on USARIADNA on the kickstarter.
I'm luvin' the Dog Soldier with the big knife and revolver.
Yeah, this set pretty much screams USA Stereotype. Not that it's a bad thing, but if they continue, then they need a guy wearing a wife beater, cigarette in his mouth, can of beer in one hand, and a shotgun in the other. Oh, and he needs a pot belly.
What else? Umm... Rambo! Where's the guy in a black tank top, black pants and boots, with a huge HMG firing it one handed? Oh, and he needs a huge knife and a tactical bow.
I concur that they need at least one guy wearing a baseball cap.
Its an argument to flesh out on another thread. And I'm sure there are many of them.
In short...
It was pretty clear to me. From Carlos in the BoW videos:
1: Preorder O:I and you get the CSU lady.
This information was clearly conveyed. You're missing the problem that occurred after it was known that pre-orders are greater than initial printed copies. New and interested people frequently asked on forums and no official feedback* was given, if they'll be able to receive LE along with their pre-order. Carlos later stated that people will receive LE with their pre-order, however he didn't say they're going to print more of them.
However, who here would NOT buy it because they were so very disappointed with Operation: Icestorm?
I hope you won't take silence as answer to your question. Those that considered it a catastrophic failure are probably doing other interests. If you are forgiving to their time delays, it's rather unreasonable to expect all others would be too.
* to my knowledge and this only applies to international forum.
So is anyone still so disappointed with the release of Icestorm that they won't preorder this?
Who am I kidding we'll all lap this up like hungry dog soldiers and ask for more. Only those of us dead set against starting an new ariadna collection won't touch it.
It's the same amount of product in a new box, just not meant for 2 players.
I wonder if we'll see more of these in the coming years for each new sectorial? Or if this was a one time effort to cash in on the explosion of the American player base?

Still don't get where you see all disappointment with O:IS. We were pointing out a 2 player starter wasn't likely or needed to grow the game right now. Not that O:IS didn't sell like hotcakes, we all know how great it sold.

His post is dealing with the issues that cropped up in regards to Icestorm and preordering, not the fact that this wasn't a 2 player starter...
I don't see where there are really any stereotypes of the US in the box set.
It's a futuristic infantry force, for sure. Werewolves, indiginouse wolf people, and slightly higher tech infantry, but no stereotypes.
You'd need to include the aforementioned wifebeater shirt, baseball hat wearing drunkard with a beer in one hand and a shotgun in the other to reach that.
You'd also need a small audio device like in audio birthday cards that has something loud and obnoxious, like "Hold my beer, and watch this!" to scream stereotype.
I really don't get where some of you reach to pull objections from.
Zatsuku wrote: So will we be seeing a box like this for more factions?
God, I hope not. For those of us with the compulsion to "catch 'em all," these make things very expensive. I like to spread my purchases out over a period of time, cherry picking what I want. If the're determined to do boxes like these, I just hope they spread them out to be every other year at least, rather than doing one every year.

Antipodes are the dog alien creatures, dog faces are the guys who turn into werewolves, and dog warriors are the same guys when they are changed into werewolves.
That Motorcycle is AWFUL. Look at the controls for feths sake, then she has a pump shot gun for some odd reason.
The rest are great, if a bit uninspired. I kind of would have liked a bit more flair personally, more scarfs and beards and a few more customized weapons but oh well, still nice.

First of all, sir, the controls are custom and have very sensitive high performance non-linear steering compensators to ensure accrurate, reliable, and responsive handling under combat conditions.
And secondly, sir, there is nothing wrong with the choice of weapon. Many notable All-American soldiers have given absolutely glowing testimony with demonstrable results on the effectiveness of pump-action shotguns for mounted vehicular warfare. In fact, a former American governor has attributed much of his military success to such a pairing.
that's a lever action, Dentry, but A for effort...
i am really liking the look of some of these new models...
that Grunt stalking forward with his gun raised is the pick of the lot, for me...
i love the striding poses...
the motorcycle looks cool to me...
i like that there are now a few very distinct types of bike...
CB just keeps turning up the awesome another notch every year, and they had already sold me from the very first Infinity release a decade ago...
it's like the gift that keeps on giving!!!
Wow, still really difficult to find some decent res shots of these (I will keep an eye out on Angel's FB site)
The style of motorbike is actually suited to what would be needed (although perhaps with some more nobbly tyres!) Look at some of the big adventure/tourer bikes on the market from KTM and BMW, they look very similar.
Like that it's a slightly more sci-fi concept of something already on the market, kind of like Penthiselia's/Yojimbos machine.
Red Corsair wrote: That Motorcycle is AWFUL. Look at the controls for feths sake, then she has a pump shot gun for some odd reason.
That odd reason would be a beautiful +6 modifier in the first 8" of range for the weapon. Boarding shotguns are awesome, but you really need to get close to the enemy, and a high mobility unit like motorbikes are perfect for this. Also I wouldn't be that sure it's a pump action, there are a fistful of semi - automatic models IRL, it could be the case.
I don't care that much about Chain Rifles now,so I was expecting Light or Boarding shotguns. I think I'm gonna like USAriadna, I'll better try to save some money...
If it was a pump action shotgun I rather doubt the grip would be that far back on the slide while the operator is already (apparently) pointing it at something/someone. To my limited knowledge, that looks more like a fixed grip on what could very well be a semi-auto shotty.
I like almost all of the sculpts. The Minuteman is kinda wonky.. that breastplate and rigid armor look a little impractical, but whatever. It 's a new sculpt and I'll take it I wish the female Grunt had a chest rig on like her buddies. I understand though, they have to give some greater visual clue to differences in sexes on models for tabletop.
Now.. lets speculate on when we think these will drop? Pre-orders are probably going to go from Monday the 6th until the end of Gencon (August 2nd). So, do we see these shipping in August? Or more likely September?
This is absolutely their GenCon bundle. I wonder if anything else will be added though? (Icestorm last year and the cosplay bolt and bootleg Penny-- thankfully not Bootyleg Penny.)
I suspect shipping will be as it was with Icestorm-- so September. Assuming of course-- a silly thing to do, I know-- that CB correctly estimates demand and produces accordingly. They have a history of wildly underestimating demand... a short history anyway
An Army box for next year? I'd say very likely. The pattern is release something impressive at GenCon, and then the books at Christmas, so some sort of Sectorial Box ( ooh, maybe the Caliphate or Svalarheim, also ) next Gencon and Acheron Falls at Christmas 2016. Pure Speculation on my part.
If nothing else, I'll get the Maverick to use as a Kum biker. I want my biker gang to have different style bikes. I'm not that impressed with the Nazarovas. :S

I have a feeling this won't sell as wildly as Icestorm did. People were really itching for an infinity starter and a first taste of N3. Not to mention that Icestorm included the most popular factions with a vanilla assortment of units.
While I want this box, it seems unlikely that I'll pick it up. It's just not practical for me to start collecting USAriadna when I've already got too much for Yu Jing, Nomads, a smattering of PanO and a box of Galwegians I haven't even opened yet.
I'm just glad it isn't a Tohaa box. Lord knows I couldn't afford to pick it up right now.
I want to say that the set turned out better than I expected, but honestly, I wasn't actually expecting CB to screw this one up. Everything looks, on the whole, very nice. I really like the dismounted motorcycle chick, but I probably won't be able to track her down for a reasonable price.

Yeah she's a great mini and could be repurposed for many other profiles.
Do people ever use dismounted models in real games? While many bikers are impetuous (aren't they all impetuous actually?), couldn't you dismount a biker unit to get into cover? Use them to rush forward to a key position and lock it down by dismounting and taking cover? Certainly would be a more reliable method than relying on AD...

Only this model and Yojimbo have dismounted models. I'd certainly consider having my Aragotos hop off their bikes if it weren't for the expense of buying a second box set and a load of Zanshi to convert them up.
Me too. I am secretly hoping they have joined forces with Dark Horse to let them do comics for them and this is a bit of a hint.
I would prefer that to some rookie with no concept of IP just pinching something they found on the net and flipping it.
Marauders are shaping up pretty dang nice. Haris L1 as an option? Heck yeah!
The Mavericks unit entry is all in Spanish; I think that might just be an issue with the mock-up.
The AVA is all for vanilla there, but in this picture you can see the breakdown...
We get names for two new units, "Blackjacks" 10th Battalion of Heavy Rangers and "Desperadoes"(someone found the fluff bit about them--it's angry werewolf hunting bikers...).
We get the name of a new character, "The Unknown Ranger".
What saddens me is that CB still has that problem with mixing up spanish and English in the profiles (as seen in the Maverick profile in the picture Kan posted)
For half a second I wondered if that actually was a 20" move.
Silly me.

Because that's the only thing they've been advertising as exclusive to this box right now...
In any case, the Maverick in this box can be fielded as the 0 SWC 21 point variant only if you're wanting to play WYSIWYG.
Maverick loadout options are:
Molotok for 2 SWC and 29 points
Boarding Shotgun for 0 SWC and 21 points
SMG and Light Rocket Launcher for 0.5 SWC and 22 points
Forward Observer profile with a Rifle for 0.5 SWC and 19 points
They definitely said the mounted one was exclusive to the box, and the dismounted one is a preorder exclusive. So I'm guessing the mounted one is the Father Knight /Reverand Healer of the box and the dismounted one is the CSU.

Yep, I watched it...hence the facepalm.
You were doing SO WELL with this CB! SO WELL!
Advantage is I guess I can sell the Maverick on if I want...

Yeah haha sorry you'd posted that while I was typing mine. It is a bit annoying. I'm not sure whether to order it because I really like the Maverick but I really don't like the Devil Dog...

It seems like SMG and light Rocket Launcher (Lanzacohetes lg)!
Now I may obviously be wrong about this but I was under the impression that the dogface soldiers start out in human form and turn werewolf when wounded. Is that still the case with the devil dog for USariadna or do they start out in wolf form? If they start in wolf form, did they gain a wound or do they lose the ablative human wound the normal dogface soldiers get?

They normally do, but this could be building upon what we've seen with McMurrough now--he's permanently "trapped" in Dogface form because of a viral weapon that a Hassassin Lasiq deployed against him.

Thanks for the answers. On a mobile device, I can't make out the stats... is that loss of the ablative wound reflected in the points cost as compared with normal dogwarriors? If not, is it made up by other special abilities then?
Cool, thanks; I just peeked (and didn't realize the scottish ones didn't have "human" forms) and they're 4pts cheaper. I guess we'll see when they update the army list site.
Looking at it from a Sectorial standpoint?
You can toss in another Grunt for anywhere from 10(basic profile) to 11(Forward Observer profile) to 12 points(Paramedic)--or ditch the Minuteman Lieutenant for a Grunt Lieutenant at 10 points and 1 SWC(possibly becoming 0 SWC in the Sectorial).
Yes, they are going to have copies of the box set at GenCon. Expect them to completely sell out on the first day unless they take 300 boxes or so.
When I can sell some plasma, I'll be pre-ordering this box. If I had enough moolah, I'd be getting 2 of them.
3 Link team options, up to 11 bikes, paratroopers for VZ, a friggin MSV 1 3 armor MI with HRL, linkable. up to 3 Devil Dog teams, mmmmm I smell me some FREEDOM™.
I don't have anything to rush in for on Thursday morning that I'm worried will sell out, so it'll be straight to the infinity booth, followed by the CMoN booth for me.
ski2060 wrote: Yes, they are going to have copies of the box set at GenCon. Expect them to completely sell out on the first day unless they take 300 boxes or so.
Excellent! I'm not too worried about them selling out since I'll have an Exhibitors badge so can usually be lined up early if I haven't already picked it up through exhibitor trades.
Since I don't care that much about the bike, the question arises, do I go all in and get the whole box so I have the wolves and the extras, or do I keep going the cheapskate route and just get tje starter? Tough choice, but it'll probably depend on whether the Warstore's preorder is still open by the time I get home.

Well you could wait and get the starter and the wolves, if you're not that bothered about the bike or the extras. But then I'm not sure how much cheaper just the starter and wolves would be, if it's not much it might be worth just getting the whole thing...
I'm in agreement with ImAGeek. The whole package just seems to be a better deal unless you're only really interested in specific miniatures and not the terrain and literature included.
Also, went ahead and got my Warstore pre-order in. Just a ~$10 difference which is fine considering the deferred payment. I'll just consider it the cost for the Maverick girl.
Well the Foxtrot is also sporting some glasses, potentially for protection as well as the Grunt so Kan may have been confused by your erroneous mentioning that there was only one with "eye pro" as you call it.
Kanluwen wrote: "Airborne Rangers" listed in there, along with a preview of the Desperadoes loadouts.
Well van zant previously only had the para-commando of the MRRF to group up with before so they needed a fully 'Murican AD choice.
I know we're all excited for this USAriadna box, but will there be any other faction releases this month? Or can we just tune out if we have no interest in Ariadna?
Eh, most of the information goes past me. I'll be more interested when it's time for the glorious kazaks. The sectorial seems stupidly mobile, and with Haris too. I do hope Humans sphere update will update all sectorials on this level.
Ah well, I'll just wait to buy the Maverick biker separately.
There's a non limited one coming too, with the axe, I posted a blurry picture of it earlier. And Van Zant doesn't come in the box. He comes free in the bundles with the rulebook and this USAriadna box, or the rulebook and O:I, or this box and O:I.
Well, I suppose I'm a sucker. CB got me good with this boxed set. Went ahead and ordered it from Warstore. I suspect most of the figures will probably be doing double duty in The Others: 7 Sins in the future.
Kan posted screens, but I did not see anyone post the video from today.
I am liking those Marauders, Adv Deploy, Stealth, and Dogged.
Also noticed in the pictures the Minuteman has a medpack on his back, could just be a cool detail, but he currently does not have a paramedic or doctor profile.
-Loki- wrote: I thought the dismounted Maverick was the freebie?
The dismounted Maverick is the extra in the box for preorders only.
The Van Zant is the GenCon exclusive, but there will be an alternate one released later.
Carlos: "Don't worry Yu Jing players you will have awesome stuff in the future. Believe me."
I'm gonna hold you to that. No more underwhelming Bao troops, bland imperial agents, and a paucity of TAGs

Someone on the official forums pointed out that it likely is just because they looked at photos of modern US/Western infantry who tend to have a "personal" medikit for medics to be able to pull from.

That was my thought as well, surprised if they went that route though and did not (so far) include it on the other troops that actually do have paramedic profiles. Who knows either way good on them for the research or we are getting a new profile, I wont complain either way.
Ah well, I'll just wait to buy the Maverick biker separately.
So...I ... Uh....don't want to be that guy... but I think that particular biker is a box exclusive.....
Yup.
Just to clear some stuff up:
The Devil Dog team? That's going to get a "general release" later. Hopefully in a box with the other variant Devil Dog as well(Heavy Shotgun) getting his own K-9 Antipode.
The Maverick on Bike? That's 'exclusive' to this box. We'll get a Maverick biker box--at some point--but it will not include her.
The dismounted Maverick? She's 'exclusive' to preordering this box.
The new Van Zant with rifle sculpt we've been showing is a GenCon/Webstore exclusive. There will be a general release Van Zant later, holding his pistol up in the air and holding a giant honking axe loosely in his other hand.
I put a call out on the official Infinity forums for someone to photoshop the Devil Dog with his knife down or held at an angle rather than the Crocodile Dundee appearance he had.
User "Borthcollective" came through!
So anyone not too happy with the look of the Devil Dog? Here's a possible fix!
I don't think it's the pose I don't like once that's swapped round, but I can't put my finger on what it is. Maybe the face? It's a little underwhelming next to the Kazak dog warriors.
can't see since I am at work, but yeah it would be a simple conversion based on your description.
I am also debating doing something about the Maruders face, not a fan of the screaming. Thinking of removing the goggles and placing them over his eyes and doing a baklava(skimask) under it. This may wait till the starter box releases in case I mess him up, I can snag a replacement from Shae.
So are the devil dogs ava 2 or 1? Or is there a catch between the two that I'm not getting like the 1 is for vanilla ariadna and the 2 is for US?
3 Devil Dog Teams in the Sectorial, but only 1 for Vanilla. Also there can only be 2 Dog Warrior Units per vanilla army, So a Devil Dog Team would count as one and and the other one would be a 2nd Irregular Cameronians/Dog-Warrior
Thanks, and yes 3 not 2... typo on my part. Interesting. I like the antipode sculpt but I'm not a fan of the dog warrior though but it is nice to see that you can take more.

IIRC characters don't count for that kind of limitations. I think the Devil Dogs will, but McMurrough and Duroc don't, AFAIK.
How limited is the USAriadna box? It's not up on my preferred retailer yet and I don't get paid til Friday, I'll still be able to get it then though right?

Quite right! I forgot that 'Aside from Charters' blip on Note 3. So just the Irregular Cameronians and the Dog Warriors then.
Just a random observation, but those bikes are -just- Impetuous, not Extremely Impetuous. They can choose whether they're impetuous or not. That's awesome!

From what I gather not limited in quantity, just limited sale July 6th-Gencon(PreOrder), not sure how long after. Then I assume much like Icestorm it well sell as long as a store still has any inventory left, once that is gone then it is done.

The exclusive Van Zant is also only available during the preorder period. You can only get him if you buy one of the bundles or on his own.
I know it's just a simple battle report for gaks n giggles, but I would have liked to see Carlos hang back on turn one and bring all the grunts into play. Didn't get much table control for all the units sacrificed early on so the PanO just sat still around the one building picking guys off one by one.
The next one has more potential with 300 pts and doing nomads vs Ariadna instead.
He played it right. USA seems to be designed to relay on forward deploying units, with impetuous units laying down the smoke and covering their advance. Grunts are there to mop up the leftovers or reinforce the weak flank.
The loss of camouflage unit was costly, although I did miss more suppressive fires. If the opponent is being passive, it's quite right to pick better position. It's mostly demo report... though Carlos's sudden decision to use command tokens wasn't cool at all. Two less orders on his side at the start make a difference when combat group is small. I hope they don't use a TAG next game.
It's going to be interesting to see what Allied units the Sectorial will get availability to. Might be able to sneak a TAG in there from another faction somewhere...

Yes the preorder window only goes until August 2nd.
That table is so tiny though, same issue I had with icestorm. It's great to learn the basics on but certain units/factions struggle on a mat that small, I think PanO shines on the smaller mat since all their units are higher armor/multi wound with better weapons.

Well yeah, it is 3x2 and Infinity is designed to play on 4x4. They are more for for demo games so everybody is on top of each other making rolls and see how everything interacts ands of course a start on the large amount of terrain the game needs. Plus it give a good idea on how much terrain a full table should have on it.
The PERFECT Demo Board is the Icestorm set.
Looks fine everywhere (because it does not require to be painted).
Any Warcor can make a decent demo game with it and if the new player likes the stuff, Icestorm is the best way to begin with this game.
Anyway, all these scenery packs, with that price... That is a move from CB to put an end to all the "This game is so terrain dependant" thing.
Apart from the HDF buildings from all the partners, the cardboard MotoTronica Packs are the solution for the "problem". Since this was released even tournaments are easier to organize.
Even the printed nature of the cardboard seems like it.. 'fits'... with Infinity's manga aesthetic. Somehow. Especially since it's so clean and high tech. OFC the ariadna bits didn't look quite like that.
I too found Icestorm's Mat to be a little too small. Isn't Infinity usually played on something like a 4'x4' table? I still wish they'd include a mousepad style mat instead of a flimsy paper one.
Yes, normally a 4'x4' table,. 2 Icestorm mats would make a 4'x3' table. You would need some 6" on either side or have a very narrow deployment zone. Mousepad style mats are very nice, but fairly expensive, like ~$55 to $60 for a 4x4.
FYI, Miniature Market has the Neoterra starter box on its daily deal.

The force that is more mobile and has the initiative will be better off. Having templates is also a great advantage on a table like this. PanO player was lucky with his Fusilier armour (value of 1) saves and who knows how it would otherwise turn out, if that Fusilier wouldn't lived to assist the Father Knight.
USA is looking scary, a team of Marauders with Foxtrots can nicely deny some vital objectives and still have enough pressure through motorcycles and AD to stall my advance.

Yeah that move with the Fusilier was ballsy and rather misguided, but it worked... *Shrug* fortune favors the bold

Thanks for the updates.
UGGGGH I almost pulled the trigger on that purchase. As cool as PanO is, the last thing I need is to start a 3rd Infinity faction.
While NCA doesn't have lots of shiny TAGs to play with, everything in that box could be used effectively in a Vanilla PanO list.
Those Operation: Icestorm PanO dudes are just sitting on my desk calling to me to buy them reinforcements.
Carlos promised exciting new stuff for Yu Jing. He better not disappoint me!
There's no way you could get a padded mat into a starter box - it just wouldn't fold up small enough.
On the other hand, Micro Art Studio make a few, including one that matches the Operation:Icestorm mat. I expect to see one for Hepaestus and the USAriadna set.
Mind you, the small mats really tech you to make use of cover and check your LOF.

Why not? Deadzone manages just fine, with plastic terrain and 3-times as many miniatures, and curiously enough the whole box ends up much cheaper too.
While I love the rubber/fabric mouse mat style play mats, the paper stuff allows them to keep the price point down, and to use a smaller box--for what that's worth.
And hooray that I caved last time that neoterra was on sale at MM and so now I don't have to!
GrimDork wrote: While I love the rubber/fabric mouse mat style play mats, the paper stuff allows them to keep the price point down, and to use a smaller box--for what that's worth.
Except .. ya know ... they aren't keeping the price point down. They've topped even Icestorm, which was 14 models for 75 quid or so RRP, to now 9 models for 75 quid RRP or so. Essentially a box of 10 mono-pose metal Cadians for the price of a Space Hulk boxed set or 1.5 Deadzone boxed games.
Wayland has it at 74 before discount. Could be a Wayland-trick though (is that legal?). Haven't seen it for 65 RRP, but even so. 10 metal minis? Really? Anything above 20 RRP, maybe 25, is a joke.
ImAGeek wrote: It's €90 on CBs site, which is ~£65. RRP on Wargaming Trader is £70. I don't know why Wayland has it at £75.
And cmon, £25 is asking for something ridiculous for this.
Why? Execution force for 75 quid had almost 3 times as many models, hard-plastic to boot, and really thick cardboard to play on, rather than paper. and is widely accepted to be horribly overpriced (rightly so IMO).
1/3rd the miniatures without the costs of molds for hard plastic and paper instead of card-board would be as bad as Execution Force. probably worse, at 1/3rd the price of Execution Force (25 quid). But it actually costs almost the same as Execution Force? And the fanboys are still defending this? C'mon.

Calling anyone who defends this a fanboy?
I get the feeling you just want to start something.
To answer your argument though, this box set includes terrain, rules/mini campaign, playmat, and the miniatures. The biker, wolf, and antipodes are all good chunks of metal. Disregarding all the extras in the box, ~$10/mini is a little high for the smaller figures, but a great deal on the larger ones. I'd say it's fairly priced for what you get- highly detailed metal miniatures. It's not like we're talking about PVC minis.
I hate having to remind some of this, but.........
This is not the place to be bickering/complaining/whining/concerned about the price of CBs products. Also this is MOST DEFINITELY not (or anywhere on Dakka for that matter) the place to start insulting/name calling.
One can take the pricing concerns down to the proper Infinity Forums, the name calling would be best stopped.

(and you do always seem to be me to it too! )
You have more forums to patrol, I am just interested in Infinity these days so I practically live in the 3 forums and this 1 thread dedicated to it
I still haven't finished painting my O:I stuff (6 down though, and the others are base coated!).
Then CB drop this box of awesome. Lovely stuff, I'll get a box as a treat for finishing my other things

Except .. ya know ... they aren't keeping the price point down. They've topped even Icestorm, which was 14 models for 75 quid or so RRP, to now 9 models for 75 quid RRP or so. Essentially a box of 10 mono-pose metal Cadians for the price of a Space Hulk boxed set or 1.5 Deadzone boxed games.
You keep mentioning other, better (iyo) lines/minis when discussing Infinity, but they're also monopose*!
You don't like them, that's fine, but must you clog up CB based threads/discussions with the same thing, over and over?
*The DZ minis are atrociously sculpted and cast in that crappy Restic nonsense. SH - I'm just bitter I haven't got a copy yet
So, the next thing for USAriadna after the USAriadna Army Box is the Grunts box. Bostria was suggesting that they'll show it at GenCon.
The video has a showcase of the new Airborne Ranger design at 3:46.
Desperado at 9:47.
The Desperadoes look awesome, specially the 2nd one.
But the Airborne ranger steals the show for me. That design has the potential for a great miniature.
C'mon.
CB has repeatedly said they will not convert their range to plastic or resin. It keeps the price up, but metal is by far the best medium to work with for miniature games.
It's a matter of quality over quantity. Infinity miniatures are hands down superior to nearly all the competition. Certainly better than anything GW is pushing, and better detail than you can get with plastics. What do I like about metal minis? You can buy them second hand or take your very first paint job and strip the paint off and redo them without any loss of detail. Plastics, not so much.
Remember as well you don't need a thousand guys to play. Anything that you get in a GW box would be a tiny fraction of what you'd need for a complete army list. A dozen or so models is a complete 300 pts list for most infinity factions.
Pacific wrote: Surely someone comparing the USArianda miniatures to the GW Cadian miniatures should carry some kind of mandatory ban?
That's the most obvious piece of trolling I have seen in some time
Outrageous isn't it? Cadians, and really all IG infantry, are some of the worst miniatures in recent memory. I doesn't matter that they're modular for posing when you need to field dozens and dozens of them. Eventually all semblance of variety is lost.
The only reason to convert CB miniatures is to get the load-out you want. But really who has ever complained if you proxy a chain rifle for a boarding shotgun? They're much better now about releasing one sculpt for each possible unit profile. Otherwise if you don't like the pose, don't buy the model.

New sectorial army. Matter of semantics, but they're effectively a new army.

Don't do that... do not even get into the exhausting "CB is better GW is better" discussion...
I must admit that GW plastic has super fine quality. But many other plastic/resin products that I've seen (Zombiecide, Warmachine, Mantic...) had been very dissapointing.
I do not want even to consider of CB switching to plastics, loosing their 10/10 quality. They have the best Metal product in the industry. Let the others ruin their stuff by tring to go plastic achieving 6/10 results. If someone is not going to get into Infinity because metal, that's fine.
I'm sure that if CB tries to go plastic they will have to go through a process that can damage the quality of their products. Rackham style.
Infinity is not made for becoming mainstream. This is "gourmet" stuff, really, not Pepsi.
They were comparing the RELEASES that they're planning to Tohaa.
Effectively, as Bladerunner mentioned, USAriadna doesn't exist in model terms. So they're talking about having a lengthy period where any Ariadna release is guaranteed to be a USAriadna release to get the feet under the Sectorial.
That Desperado bike has a confederate-flag-looking pattern on it. This truly and utterly offends me and everyone in my hugbox. I demand that all Desperadoes be banned in all tournaments alongside USAriadna, Corvus Belli products, and Spain itself. Anyone that doesn't give in is a racist.

Have you seen the Kingdom Death plastics? They could definitely capture the proportions and style of Infinity in plastic.
Heck, they even have cheesecake poses and cleavage. I'm not a fan of the 70's porn meets 80's horror movie designs of the minis but the quality and detail are unmistakeably there.
