An Introduction to Animosity… (playing in Mansfield @Slayer Gaming, East Midlands UK)

I won't win, but at least I'll look good losing.
- Sar Mikael, upon detatchment to the Emperor's Children

Victory and defeat are a matter of definition.
- from the Axioms of War, Tactica Imperialis

Look out for ewoks... they'll make a drum kit from your helmet before you know they taken your head off.
- from Inquisitor Pengadilan's personal notes, The Discordia Campaign

Once more into the fray. Into the last good fight I'll ever know. Live and die on this day. Live and die on this day.
- John Ottway, The Grey

Vade nutrientibus in gladium novacula - Go suck a chainsword.
- Roses and Boltshells

Animosity Events aim to bring together the Warhammer 40,000 gaming community for exciting, narrative based gaming events. The objectives of Animosity Events is to allow players to play in non-competitive story driven encounters, in which the power of the narrative is more important than the power of the army build. Gamers with all levels of experience are welcome to join us at the events, and we hope that all players that attend can enjoy the campaigns. Whilst there are obvious elements of winning and losing, we are not running tournaments, we hope that players will play the miniatures they want to use because they want to use them, not because they want to win. Some of our most memorable moments in war-gaming have been mid-annihilation, when a standalone hero dies hard and makes that game, the game in which we took a beating, more memorable than any of our victories. Sportsmanship is preferable to gamesmanship, and whether winning or losing please remember, even in defeat, at a narrative campaign your story is not over and from the jaws of defeat you can snatch the cake of victory!

The Venerable Dread aka geordie09 aka Scott

We're extending an invitation to gamers from across UK to join us for some action in the 41st Millenium (and earlier). The plan is simple. Hopefully we'll have 30+ people (the more the better) who would like to attend the campaign weekends with us. We hope to make the weekends something for gamers to remember, and enjoy (hopefully). What we don't want to do is host a tournament. So if you would like to attend please come with an open mind and bear in mind that your opponents want to have a good time at a narrative campaign. If they wanted to go to a tournament and play in uber-competitive mode, they would.

If you would like to attend the events feel free to email me at venerabledread@hotmail.co.uk

Important stuff... It will cost £20 each to attend. This covers the cost of the venue, a prize pot and the production costs for the campaign pack. Remember, there will be further details added in due course so keep an eye on this thread to find out more, or email me at venerabledread@hotmail.co.uk

See you at the gaming tables,

geordie09 aka Venerable Dread

UPDATE -

If anybodys out there...

We'll be running a campaign painting competition over the weekend, hopefully we'll be able to come up with a prize for the winner. It will be voted for by the attendees via ballot vote.

Don't worry, you don't need to paint your apocalypse force to mega standards to win, the competition will be judged using a single unit selected by you to represent your force. Any unit, will do as long as it is not a super heavy of any kind.

It's early days, but anybody who would like to attend just drop a message to the email above or leave a post.

Until the next update... see ya

- additional - The Campaign Pack has been updated for anybody who wishes to see it. It's available at the bottom of the opening post. Thanks to those who downloaded the first version, I hope the second provides more enlightenment.

UPDATE -

I am pleased to announce that Bitz Box have generously agreed to provide us with a prize for a Conversion Competition.

If you plan to attend please download the Campaign Pack at the bottom of the first post where you can find details to enter the competitions.

So far we have...

BITZ BOX Conversion Competition
ANIMOSITY Painting Competition

I hope to be able to establish one final competition for players to participate in during the weekend. December may seem like a long way away but genius take patience... or so I'm told!

Anybody who is blessed by the chaos gods will be able to take the Daemon Primarchs, Angron, Fulgrim, Magnus or Mortarion. You can use them in the Apocalypse game and find their rules at Tempus Fugitives...

Age of the Emperor Expansion, p 124. Check them out!

http://www.tempusfugitives.co.uk/downloads

They'll be 350 points each to field...

(They can be used because they still exist in 40k, other primarchs can not)

Hey, I've got a mate that wants to join in on this campaign. He's not registered on dakka so I said I'd vouch for him on here, is this ok? He said he'd like to bring a word bearers host to the assorted chaos fleet. So that'll be 3 for the fallen and only 2 loyalist. Anybody out there fancy joining in on this?

Yes!

Oh Lord. I am going to be diving back into the tabletop when 6th Edition launches this summer. I s'pose it would be OK for a relative 'rookie' to attend? I live literally 200 metres away from Maelstrom. The staff are a blast, the store is well-stocked and the gaming area//bar//restaurant is most wonderful!

If I do [and can] attend, I'll be attending with my Emperor's Children, Chaos aligned, Taskforce Renegade Blood. The only problem is that I wouldn't be able to field 5,000 points worth for the Apoc game on Sunday. Nor would either of my friends [whom may be able to attend with Renegade Chaos Militia] Is the 5k Apoc game mandatory?

Players who cannot field 5000 pts in the apocalypse game may choose to use the mercenaries available for the campaign weekend or use the apocalypse rules for additional strategies according to the deficiency. If you cannot field a minimum of 4000 pts on the day please let us know and we can make arrangements to make sure you still get involved without being outnumbered!

Nevermind, just found this passage in the campaign file.

Eirikr, I've added you to the Renegade Blood Task Force but if you would like to join the Perfect Host, which is Slaanesh (+ a bit Tzeentchy) specific that would be great, or you can stay where you are... not a problem.

I've played at Maelstrom and agree, its a great venue. Wish I lived within walking distance of anywhere with a gaming table...

As you found, the Apoc game is necessary but the points are variable. Anybody who can't field the necessary points will be aided by myself, the mercenaries availalbe on the day and the Apocalypse rule books strategy's which are designed for deficiences with points totals anyway.

I'm also thinking of permitting Chaos or Renegade forces to ally with Daemons for the purposes of the Apocalypse game in order to help people out...

Just drop another post if you have any questions or PM me. If your friend is available let me know as soon as and I'll add him too.

Thank you.

Having confirmed the details with Maelstrom this weekend I can now confirm the Campaign will cost £18 pound each to attend. The break down is as follows,

Saturday buffet £8
Sunday buffet £8
Prize Fund £2

I had thought there may be a nominal fee but the buffet price is per head. The additional £2 is to go towards the campaign competitions which are not already supported.

Bitz Box and Maelstrom are both offering prizes for the competitions which feature their names but the painting competition will be funded by the £2 that everybody pays in.

I've also decided that the Eldar and Dark Eldar should probably be in seperate Task Forces...

I hope this financial aspect does not deter potential participants, and as always, if you want to know anything, pm me or drop a post!

I'll be using the address to send messages that aren't relevant to the dakka thread and maybe some important info in the summer.

So if you can email me with your dakka name and confimration of you allegiance/race that would be sweet!

We are planning four games for day one. It may seem like alot but Maelstrom is open into the evening and the first game will be a short skirmish game. The second game will involve planetstrike, games three and four will use standard 40k rules one of which will encorporate a doubles game with a task force ally. Sunday will see the Apocalypse... whether this is an all in game, good vs not so good, or a number of task force apocalypse games running simultaneously will be arranged at a later date depending upon numbers.

Am I correct to assume that we will need to bring along copies of the various Apocalypse/Planetstrike/Imperial Armour books as needed. If so I will have to get myself some copies and have a good read, especially as I've never played planet strike before

Hey dude. Certainly for Planetstrike as whilst its not complicated it does have a lot of variations for game play. apocalypse has a number of strategy's and variations that you'd need familiartity with but Imperial Armour will only be required if you are using forces that are detailed within.

There is still a lot of time to go but a few practise games of planetstrike would probably help you to get to grips with the subtleties of attacking and defending!

Well it's certainly interesting, bit of a drive at just under an hour and a half but still tempting, and it least it's through the pretty Peak District right! Would probably have missed the thread if it weren't for mentioning it on the Manchester one.

I'll have to keep an eye on it and see if I can finish a force before then, the plague tower already fills in a good 700 points so that's a start once it's done

I'll keep you up to date with PM's once I've got the new house sorted, if I do manage to pull it together might be able to get a tau slot if there's one left from the other half and an imperial guard from my mate in Lancaster if I can convince him! Mine will be chaos of some form, probably nurgle themed, or possible khorne depending on if the new chaos dex really does show up by then. Anyway I'll stop the wishlisting until I can give you a more solid conformation, unless people start stealing all the slots I want of course

Hello Ignatius. Yeah just drop me a PM with any queries or if you can confirm at a later date.

I've only allocated one Tau slot, with the Eldar, purely because it was the one faction I wasn't sure would get much love. Should that slot be taken before you can confirm I'll be able to create a Tau Task Force on that basis in which your other half can participate.

Just give me a shout when your in a position to book your spaces.

At the moment it is just a nominated role for each task force. In reality it is simply to make sure only one person from each task force approaches the desk when its time to call for mercenaries or reinforcements. Nothing stressful and nothing that will take anything from the weekends experience.

kitch102 wrote:Can I double check what the ruling is on mercs? What can each race take? Could I theoretically take Eldar Pathfinders? It fits fluffwise, I think, though they're not part of my codex...?

First off, because of the limited DE options i'm happy for you to include any Eldar forces as allies in your apocalypse force, provided they are not psykers/avatars/phoenix lords/named characters/wraithguard or wraithlords.

If you wish to include Pathfinders in your other campaign forces I'd suggest canvasing opinions with other participants first and we'll go with a majority vote.

Mercenaries on the other hand are a totally different kettle of fish. Basically when you complete secret missions you will gain bonus points. These bonus points can then be exchanged for Mercs prior to the next game, or saved and used a few games down the line. They are not available for the Apocalypse game though. The Mercenaries are a bonus. They are a unit paid for by bonus points which is added to your 1500 pts force. Prime example is an Eversor Assassin which I own but will not be using on the weekend. The miniature will be provided and obtained at the Merc Desk. The bonus points will be exchanged by a task force commander (a human task force) and the miniature used by a selected member of the task force. I will also be providing a few units for other races which I will detail at a later date.

I hope this help Kitch?

Holy crap... well, as long as there are still SOME Dark Eldar in your force...

I'm still unsure what to do with the mercs as I have countless Imperial/Chaos and Daemons that I can provide for use but my own personal supply of Eldar/DE/Tau/Necron forces is non-existant!

As with terrain, I think you should have people bring their own. Maybe yiu could tie that in with the bitz box competition! All mercs need to be converts or some such.

Rule wise it'd have to be obvious which rule set they represent (ie, if they're flyers, they have wings) or count as using, otherwise you'll have all kinds of mismatched models that are difficult to remember what they do.

It'd be cool if bitz box gave out tokens or tickets too, that way they can see which conversion was made with parts bought from them. That's just a stub with every order placed, then you get advertising too!

Sorry I just realised how much of a tangent I've gone off on...!

ANIMOSITY - APOCALYPTICON UK, November 7th, 8th + 9th 2014 @ 2012/04/23 18:25:38

Post by: geordie09

Just a bit.

The Mercs will have a copy of the relevant rules from their codex to be used when they are in play so that won't be a problem.

If people want to volunteer spare units for Mercs I'm quite happy with that but they'll have to be legitimate units with codex/imperial armour rules etc.

Our generous sponsors Bitz Box are a busy bunch so I won't be asking them to do anything else.

You need'nt bring terrain though either, Maelstrom gaming tables provide the terrain. The only exception will be for the Planetstrike games in which players who are selected as defenders will need to bring bastions or landing pads and stuff. Players will be selected as defenders/attackers at a later date too as part of the narrative!

I'm working on some Eldar terrain as well, I'll bring it along. I'm happy to volunteer any spare Eldar I'm not using to the merc pile. I've got some chaos/khorneas well some I'll bring them along if I've got some space.

That would be appreciated thanks.

What I'm looking to do is make five or six units available per race.

For example, the Imperial Forces will be able to call upon:

- Eversor Assassin
- Guardsman Marbo
- Deathwatch Sternguard Unit (5 Marines)
- Deathwatch Vanguard Unit (5 Marines)
- Legion of the Damned (5 Marines)

So each of these would be purchased using Bonus Points and allocated as the task force feels is necessary. I've selected these units in particular because they strike me as the most pliable for the role of mercenary/reinforcement type of characteristics.

Other races will have other units. Tyranids may have a unit of Ymgarl Stealers or Deathleaper available, Eldar maybe Pathfinders or harlequins.

So the kind of unit that may just turn up randomly fluff wise too. Hopefully folks get the idea anyway. I wouldn't want to serve up anything as basic as a unit of guardsman but if somebody was to offer to volunteer Schaffers Last Chancers then that sort of thing would work.

As it stands Imperial Forces, Chaos and Orks are pretty much covered. Eldar will be pretty much sorted once I've discussed the details with Sar Mikael and the Farseer so if anybody has anything out there that they'd be willing to bring to the Merc Table for the campaign that would be cool.

Hi Geordie...

No room in the Imperial Inn for some 'Scar's bikes & jetbikes?

Nah, no way Mark and I could come down to Mansfield in December.
Pity, as, like you I've not been able to get to any TF events this year (except March).
I was really looking fwd to September, but Mark is working at RAF Leuchar's last Battle of Britain airshow that weekend.
(last one before this idiot gov. shuts the base down!)

You event sounds great, and we would love to be there but no way will my betterhalf let us gallivante to England in Dec..

Hope to see you at a TF event in 2013!

Shame dude, cos Jim (Raven) may be attending and Nick (also WE when we played) has his name down for Chaos. The next AOTE is in May so maybe we'll see you there.

So the threads been running for over a month now and we've got 15 Players across the Task Forces.

There are a few other players lurking on the fringes of the Discordia System who I'm hoping will throw their dice onto the board and they will hopefully encourage other players to attend.

Still shy of Necron and Tyranid players so far... so if your out there "jump in"

Spread the word people, the more players who attend the more varied, entertaining and enjoyable the campaign will be!

Don't forget to post pictures of your projects and link to your threads...

Its been brought to my attention that the potential scale of the Apocalypse game may be affecting recruitment for the weekend.

So I have a number of suggestions that I want to put forward to see which options you lot think will help make the awkward clunky apocalypse game more feasible for the campaign.

1 - If we get a large number of players the Apocalypse game will be spread across a number of different tables running simultaneously (in essence this means multiple games rather than one big one)

2 - We could reduce the points level to 4k, minimum 3k with strategem assistance.

3 - We could set a time limit for each turn to make sure the game is completed, which I think I was going to do anyway!

Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated, but bare in mind that there will be an Apocalypse game so suggesting to drop it is not an option.

Bonzer.

Though what kind of time limits are we talking about? And how would you work it, as I can see certain armies (namely Orcs) that have a crap load of dice to roll needing more time than, say *insert name of army with least amount of dice rolls* - was going to say GK... feared being laughed at lol

I don't think there are enough people watching the thread to illicit laughter...

Sorry, excuse my negative attitude, its been one of those weeks!

I'm thinking an apocalypse game will take at least four turns, we'll have maybe 8 hours after deployment so that would make it one hour per player turn which will be plenty. It may mean it will have to be a running buffet on the sunday, ha!

Basically the timer will restart at the beginning of each go ensuring that if a turn only takes 45 minutes then the 15 spare minutes aren't wasted. This way we should be able to squeeze an extra turn in later and the turns should in essence be shorter towards the end of the day anyway!

I hope that makes sense...

Hows your project progressing?

Don't worry about it bud, had a pretty naff week myself - pm me if you need someone to bitch at.

Finding someone to build it for me has been a pain in the ass (£3000? No thanks.), though I've found a company that supplies modelling / scratchbuilding parts for MUCH cheaper than I thought I would, so reckon I'll do it myself. Just spoke to them on Thursday and am waiting on a parts list of suggested items from them.

I'm getting screwed over financially by so many different companies at the moment it's untrue though, so it could be a short while before I can get the whole thing underway.

I can't even fathom a game large enough to take 1 hour PER TURN! That's just nuts! Looking forward to it though, it's gonna be a lot of fun!

Heres hoping...

Yeah, £3000 would make me think twice. Scratchbuilding will probably feel much more of an achievement too. Whatever happens hopefully the changes will make your life easier with regards to assembling your force.

mm, I don't enjoy their rending claws tearing through my pretty yellow armor though!

This brings me to a delightful tale of a Tournament I attended. My friend and I went to the 40K doubles last year with his Dark Angels and my Imp Fists. When we were confronted by a Tyranid Swarm i felt that the Genestealers were going to cause much harm. After reducing my Devastators to erm, a sergeant rather quickly, imagine my surprise when he managed to kill all ten Genestealers in the next four turns. It was epic.

Sar Mikael was there, and my Sergeant received an paint job as a reward, I named his chainsword Tyrant, placed a Stealer skull at his feet and he now goes by the name John McClain... Die Hard!

Why am I telling you this... because its stories like this, the greatest tales of against the odds heroic blood and guts bravery that will win somebody the Maelstrom Man of the Match Award.

Tickets are now £20 and not £18 as previously advertised. hopefully this does not deter anybody from attending.

The campaign pack has altered slightly to reflect a few minor changes including the price increase.

Thanks everybody. The support from those already involved has been invaluable for helping progress to this stage.

Got some info from Maelstrom regarding accomodation in the area!

The closest hotel to the venue is the Pine Lodge Hotel: http://www.pinelodge-hotel.co.uk/

It is a very comfortable and intimate hotel, and one which we have been recommending since we opened the venue back in October 2009. There have been no complaints AFAIK and everyone seems more than happy with the service they provide. They offer a discount to players, please mention "Maelstrom Games" when you make your booking to receive the preferential rate.

Next up, Travelodge Mansfield: http://www2.travelodge.co.uk/

These guys offer rooms from £19 per night, but you need to book at least 21 days in advance. if you do that, not only can you get the cheapest deals, but you can also make the room 'flexible'. That means that if you need to cancel or change the booking for any reason, you can do so up until noon on the day of arrival. this hotel is about 15-20 minutes walk from the venue. Easily accessible from the main arteries into Mansfield and tons of car parking. There is a Frankie and Bennys next door, as well as a Tesco Express. McDonalds is across the road as well as The King and Miller pub.

These are the 2 popular choices for players and the 2 closest.

I'll add some of these details to the Campaign Pack!

Ok, as it stands it doesn't look like I'm going to be able to make it, as term at the university of my choice finishes on the 21st of December. However, if I don't get the grades I'm taking a gap year, so if that is the case I'll rush down and grab a ticket if there are any left. I am very flexible with which army I use so that shouldn't be an issue.

I've bought my ticket today...

Its possible that its the first ticket purchased, but hey ho.

A few things I have discovered in the process :

You'll need to register with Maelstrom Games in order to place an order. This isn't much of a hardship and only takes a few seconds.
When the order is processed there is an option for postage, select Second Class Royal Mail. As far as I am aware (and I should be) there is nothing for them to post out so please don't waste your money on a First Class option for nothing.
If you are purchasing for somebody else the system will ask you to enter their email details. If you ARE purchasing for somebody else please make sure you enter this correctly as it is a necessary piece of info for me...

If you have already purchased a ticket, please let me know so I can begin making definitive plans for the event. It's great having a theoretical list of participants and selected Task Forces for the weekend but until tickets are purchased thats all it is, theoretical!

I am also aware that December is a long time away but if you can, get your tickets as soon as possible. The success of the event will require a great deal of preperation and you would all be doing me a favor if that preperation could be started annd finished as soon as possible.

Thanks for your time dudes.

ven dread aka geordie09 aka Scott.

p.s. Look out for the Merc pics I'll be adding over the next few weeks. Whilst my painting abilities will never get me any great praise (except from my mum and my friend Sar Mikael, cos he's nice like that) hopefully the concept of Mercenaries will become clearer.

Thansk again.

It may surprise many to find out that I'm in Newcastle, despite my cryptic dakkauser name, so if you fancy a game some time pm me.

I appreciate the offer to field some of your units as mercenaries for the campaign, its very generous of you and the support is very welcome but it would be wrong for me to accept. I would not feel comfortable with this without your presence at the event. If you do find you can attend though I will be happy to accept your offer. Thanks.

The first four player Task Force has been filled. Evangelus Dominus has been the first Task Force to recruit its members.

Its a great sign of how things are progressing even though we have six months before the Campaign Weekend.

If you are on the periphery and were contemplating joining the Angelus Task Force then don't be disuaded, we will make room for you, and until players step forward and confirm they've purchased their tickets no Task Force is finalised.

With that in mind I'd like to encourage all those players who are hoping to attend and are yet to purchase or those players who have expressed an interest without reserving a place to please act quickly. I have sent notification emails to all the registered GCN clubs yesterday and this has already yeilded positive results.

Thansk for taking the time to read my rambling.

Hi Geordie

I see you are now including an Apocalypse game on the sunday........Damn You!!.
Looks like Mark and I are going to have to try to come down in December.
Looks like I'm going to have an ex-wife in January.
Kidding apart we love appoc games.
I would bring either 5000pts of 'Scars, Salamanders or Iron Hands, Mark would bring either his IG , Grey Knights or Ravenguard.
Our last appoc game was in March, I have posted our lists on dakkadakka (also some pics in my gallery).
Seriously though I have been made redundant so coming down to Mansfield from Fife for a campeign weekend is difficult to justify, I will seriously look at our finances and try to sweetalk the better half.
Mark and I have given ourselves until the end of September to finance the trip, Mark is carbooting his old stiff and I am trying to offload some of my collection of unbuilt plastic kits and trying to sell some of my surplus space marines.
We hope to see you in December!

The Apoc game has been in the planning for a while, currently its running at 4000 points in order to allow players who haven't got large forces to still participate but I am going to see how things pan out and if its possible match up players with the possibility of expanded forces. It will probably get complicated but that's something else for me to worry about.

I have set a cut-off date at which time I intend to pull the tickets in order to allow time to thoroughly plan the narrative details according to those factions and forces that are confirmed by purchasing. Currently I am throwing my myriad brain scatterings to the wind as everything that happens will depend upon which races are represented etc... I'm rambling, the cut-off for tickets will be after September so don't fret too much. I've added the Maelstrom recommended hotels to the campaign pack but since you're both seasoned by the Tempus Fugitives I'm sure you'll already be aware of the logistics.

Sorry to hear that you've had difficulties. It's a hard time for many so I appreciate the efforts that you're going to. I will be happy to reserve you both a place in the relevant factions and secure your places at the event as its only provisional, if you can't make it I completely understand.

Just drop another post with your chosen forces and I'll add you both to the list. I have one request, if Mark could resist the temptation to bring Raven Guard that would be cool, either of the others are still very open but we've got two RG already and the faction is pretty well bolstered. If you bring Scars or Salamanders you'll be in the Jaeger Faction (with the wolves, its a hunter/claws theme... Scars are hunters, dragons have claws etc). If Mark chooses to play as Grey Knights his force will be integral to the Campaign story, and since he'll be the first to sign up for the GK/Inquisition he'll be the nominated Task Force Commander (if he wants, it will have some surprise benefits in the apoc game).

Thanks Kramanal,

ta da for now.

Oh, and if you've got unbuilt kits, have you tried the Dakka Swap Shop in the forum?

Thanks Geordie,
Good of you to reserve us places. If we can convince the wife, (and find the gas money) we would stay at the Travelodge as usual.
I will bring my Scars, loads of jetbikes, chariots, bikes and attackbikes, for appocalypse I will bring 6 squadrons of MM/HB landspeeders, and 2 Squadrons of LSStorms(carrying Scouts} should be about 7000pts if needed. Loads of room in the old Belingo so no problem if I have to cut to 4000pts, extra points would be if you want to organise a bigger game on the Sunday.
Mark would love to bring his Greyknights but he still has nightmares about his first game at Maelstrom when he ran into that 2 megastomper, deffdreads as troops Ork army, with so little antitank its a difficult army to play against armour. Would love to play against Chaos or Eldar though. If we come he will bring about 6000pts of GK. Bossy little bugger would love to be TF commander.
Thanks for the suggestion about my kits but they are all 40 or 50 yearold aircraft, tank and ship kits, mostly Airfix and Frog, I sell them at model fairs, got about 250 left.

Okay so I'm a little ahead of my proposed schedule with regards to whats happening with 6th edition.

I'm considering, and very likely to drop the planetstrike game, in favour of a game with points puchased bastions and buildings.

In theory this means a set points value for both armies with an extra ration of points which will be filled by either
1 - Defensive terrain
2 - More units
Obviously 1 or 2 will be dictated by the narrative your force is involved in.

When the actual reality of 6th hits this will be refined but an instant positive is that the necessity to have the planetstrike expansion is eliminated and therefore cost and stuff for competitors who don't currently own it is reduced and the basis of the game involving attacking an established defensive position will remain.

Any thoughts?

As far as the narrative goes no, because its likely to change depending upon the results of the previous round and the way that affects the continuing story. I'd recommend just going with what you like, maintaining your own feel for your force but keeping a balance between fluff and effectiveness!

As far a DE go though, and without giving anything away too much, plan your small skirmish force for attack and when the details for the second game are finalised (when planetstrike is dropped and new set up is decided) don't worry about fortifications or building. You and Nids will not be using them, you'll be attacking, which will means extra points. I've got the set up in my head ready for finalising next week once I clarify the logistics of the 6th ed rule book. It will be sorted very quickly.

On another note that we've previously discussed, you can take Eldar as allies in Apocalypse to get your points up, the new rules allow allies in all games but I'd recommend (from the DE perspective) sticking to just apocalypse for the campaign to keep the game as fluff tight as we can early doors. (I'll leave that to your discretion though Si)

@ G-09: What can I say?! Lol. Can I check the position on allies and mercs? Allies allow 1 unit of HQ, troops, elites, fs & HS, though will the Mercs allow me to add to that? Or will you do it in such a way that allies and mercs have to be different races?

@Philthesquid - in the top menu box, click your username. There's then a box that says "edit info" or something like that. At the bottom is a signature box, add whatever you want there. Be prepared to have enter HTML code if you want it to appear short though!

The mercs are completely seperate to force org Si. They are a bonus unit paid for by the task force and used by individuals in the task force who may need extra help or to achieve a special goal. Their use should by no means be planned for or incorporated into any lists and stuff.

I've had a good look at the allies matrix online (as my book hasn't arrived yet) and i'm not too pleased at where it leaves things. I've not probs with Eldar/Dark Eldar but some of its just daft. I'd rather make my own allies matrix and add it to the campaign pack. As for the disposition of those allies as you've specified, then it seems fine to follow hq, troop, elite, heav. For the Apoc game i'm happy for this to be increased though as in such a large scale game restricting to one of each unit type seems a bit tight!

Seems its going to take me a week or two before I can update the pack to reflect the 6th edition changes. Bare with me. In the mean time I have made a start on the Mercenary Data Sheets. Below are two examples of the data sheets and what can be expected from the myriad merc-forces we hope to employ!

Hopefully they are self explanatory. The data sheets include weapon options and details of the special missions that you may or may not endeavor to complete.

The first example shows the Deathwatch Sternguard, pictured above somewhere. The unit cost is what it would cost to field the unit in a regular game, I've included this only in the event that the miniatures are used in the Apoc game to aid somebody in reaching 4k. The BP cost equates to 1BP per 20 points (always rounding up). The bonus points will be deducted from the task force total should you choose to employ a merc force. If you do the special missions give you the opportunity to recoup some or all of the points spent. The second image is a data sheet created for the Sublime Child. This unit is not represented by a mini, simply by the orbital bombardment weapon from the C:SM, making life much easier for me. I've had to take an educated guess at the cost for units that aren't specifically point based. Some mercs, will not have as much detail on the data sheet, such as the proposed Legion of the Damned. This is because they are only available to C:SM forces who will have the relevant rules in their codex.

Hopefully these help to explain further the system in place for mercs!

Progress Report...

At the time of writing this list we have 23 players on the list for potential involvement. This is great, since I had initially targeted 20 players. Thanks to all who have preliminary signed up.

NOW TELL YOUR FRIENDS!

If you're still lurking, feel free to drop a post and get involved. The more the thread grows the greater attendance and the better a weekend we will all have so feel free to start throwing pics of your projects and the odd army list at the thread.

If you've made enquiries earlier in the thread and are still watching let me know what your plans are... I'll be hounding you to attend in the coming months anyway.

We need Necrons! Maybe some more Orks and DE too. We can get by with 23 players and I'm confident we'll have a great time, but lets see if we can't beef up the weaker task forces before we decide to pick on the singlees!

Final Draft of the Campaign Pack will be coming soon, updated to incorporate the much talked about 6th Edition and some clarification here and there.

Thanks dudes.

Ta da for now.

Hi all, thought I would share my Eldar terrain as it is so far, which I will bring along assuming I can make it.

My Eldar landing pad - I'm thinking to add a "control panel" to switch between modes - any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

My Eldar Waygates - I've got 4 more underway which are taller and thinner.

My rotating AA turret - only rotates around the guns are fixed but otherwise pretty chuffed

My objective markers - amazing what you can do with some bottle tops, polystyrene and brown paint

A plaza - not sure whether to add anything more to this or just finish painitng it

A webway portal, what no Eldar player should be without - it'll easily fit a falcon in so all is good

I'll re-post when I've finished these.

Hi Geordie

Have read the updated pack and can't wait, should hear shortly about December so will let you know. For the final game, what happens if we don;t have a complete force organisation chart, currently the only thing I have missing is 1 Elite choice, otherwise I'm fine with the 2 HQ, 6 troops, 3 FA and 3 HS.

Cheers

Nothing really. I've thrown in it just to ensure that there is a semblance of organisation to each force rather than the straight apocalypse rules which would let you use anything and everything. It's basically to avoid 4k worth of Land Raiders taking to the field and other such crazy apocalypse inspired nonsense. (It may look cool but it can't be all that fun for your opponent to see almost 16 Land Raiders of various patterns heading towards your inadequately under melta armed troop line). Saying that though, once the original force org is complete you can have as many Land Raiders as you want...

I'm not a Land Raider Basher, I'll be using them, they're just an example!

1 elite slot left for the Eldar, what you running in the other two slots right now?

Currently I've got 6 dragons who go in a falcon and a full squad of scorps. I'm thinking of some banshees but not having assault ramps on Eldar vehicles makes them a bit pointless at the moment. I've got over 4k at the moment so would be happy to take part in a larger game if you're short of players.

Feel free to bring as much as you feel you want. As long as you have a 4k list that adheres to the force org anything above and beyond can be arranged before the battle with your opponents and allies.

The obligatory fire dragon suicide melta squad... can't go wrong with that. Have you though about Warp Spiders, I always find them a pain in the butt! Don't forget, There are FW Eldar Aspect Warriors too, the Spectres? I think they have jump or jet packs.

Banshees could be quite good without an assault vehicle though, they get fleet, and can then charge 2d6... I know it all comes down to dice rolls but thats pretty fast. Plus they scream like bitches and make everybody I1... not good for me!

I'm not sure the allies rules stretch to this sort of thing. Just off the top of my head, if I take Lysander my Imp Fists become Stubborn, that doesn't mean my allies do. I can't drop a group of Imp Guard Vets in my big yellow Drop Pod nor put my Tac Marines in a Valkyrie. That's my understanding anyway.

I've had a look at the allied detachments rules and whilst it doesn't specify anything in regards to the specific war-gear that we've debated, it clearly says that even Battle Brothers can't ride in each others transport vehicles so I reckon this rule would be best enforced in regards to the gates too.

Fell free to choose either dude. There are benefits for both from my point of view. If we have another Ork force that's good cos there's just Morty right now and as they're under-represented at the moment that would help. Dark Angels will bolster the Evangelus Task Force and give it a nice spread of varying chapters. I'd hoped for DA, BA, RG and maybe something else so the force wasn't completely red angels (Plus, if you go DA Mikael and myself can contribute to providing you with further forces for an even larger Apocalypse force).

Hello mcpothead,

The apocalypse game requires 4000 points for sunday but if you wish to bring a larger force I am hoping that there will be the possibility to accomodate them. With this in mind I have suggested in the campaign pack that a base force of 4000 points is created and an additional list with further forces brought in the event we can get a larger game in play.

The campaign pack is available to download from the opening post, and I'm here to field any further questions.

I'll add you to the Ork faction list if you decide you will be attending. In the meantime, welcome to the thread.

We've had a few folk sign up recently, which is great. We're looking at 25 players should all attend so far....

If we can spread the word a little and push for more players we'll be looking at an exceptional turn out for our inaugral campaign.

Remember to invite your gaming friends, drop hints at gaming clubs and mention it in the GW stores you frequent.

The more people who attend the better this will be!

Can you clarify game 2? 1500 pts total made up from 300 pts attacking and 300 pts defending or are these as well as the 1500 point list?

ANIMOSITY - APOCALYPTICON UK, November 7th, 8th + 9th 2014 @ 2012/08/09 11:09:19

Post by: geordie09

Of course dude...

Game 2 each player has a Base Force of 1500 points. Each player also has an additional 300 points for attacking, and another 300 points for defending (This must include foritfications, a minimum of a bastion or customised equivalllent).

The idea is that each player can then augment the 1500 points with an attacking or defending force depending upon the requirements of the narrative. Totalling in an 1800 point game.

The premise is to incorporate a game that has elements of attacker vs defender without using the Planetstrike rules, which not everybody owns and takes up an extraordinary amount of time to orchestrate.

Hope this helps dude.

(The exceptions are Tyranids and DE by the way, as they will be attacking no question)

I'd suggest bringing your own yes. This way you tailor your defensive force to your needs, also, I don't think Malestrom hve enough to go around, if any. You can use the entire 300 points on defensive structures if you wish.

Yes Storm Talon will be cool. Only restriction is no super heavies in painting competition.

Something wicked this way comes...

I've been in discussions with an acquaintance of mine from the Tempus Fugitives. The discussion involves a great deal of planning and secrecy but in the long run will see the Animosity Campaign Weekend supported and strengthened.

I won't be giving anything away as we're playing our cards close to our chest but be assured that the proposals we are coming up with will be in the best interests of everybody attending and hoping to attend the Animosity Campaign.

What does any of this mean?

- With immediate effect tickets are no longer for sale.
- There will not be a price increase in the future, when tickets do return for sale it will still be at £20.
- Those persons who have bought tickets, your ticket is still valid.
- The changes we are intending to make will not affect the Campaign Pack, the projects you have undertaken or the army lists you have thus far built.
- The hold on tickets is temporary and they will be available once more sometime in October.

In the meantime feel free to PM me with any questions regarding the Campaign Weekend.

Thanks for your understanding in this matter. Please bare in mind this is only a temporary cessation for tickets, the Campaign is still going to go ahead and there is no need for anybody to worry about the Campaign taking place.

T a da for now...

Although I didn't get the grades my university course wanted I still got a place, so it doesn't look like I'll be able to attend, which is a shame (I also have a Necron army so that would have been useful). That said, when the term dates are released I'll have a double check but it's looking doubtful. Hope you all have a good time though.

Hey Farseer, the Kill Team game we are playing is not the same as the game featured in Battle Missions. we're playing a standard 40k rules game over 40 minutes. The force org is featured in the Campaign Pack! I thing it along the lines of, no HQ, no vehicles... Monsterous Creatures and walkers are okay! Best to clarify with the pack though.

I hadn't read that, I thought it read that, oops, back to the drawing board. Could I have a fast attack option? Did it say no vehicles too? So now I'm thinking 3 squads of assault marines with jump packs, 5 men in each or if vehicles are allowed then storm talon too or devastation squad.
Having just read it again, I'll go for dreadnought and jump troops, this will cover fast movement, close combat and ranged weapons from the dreadnought.

Hi, this is the battle group. There are still some things to paint but the core is done.

I appologise for the quality of the video, it was done with my phone. So if you are tempted to bitch about the quality then don't, it is neither needed or welcomed.

I will post images later of the individual models I have recently finished such as the honour guard and the librarian but the movie doesn't do them or any of the models justice. I created this purely to demonstrate the force as a whole.

enjoy.

Ey up dudes.

Just throwing this out there...

If this event is successful, which with your support it will be, how would people feel about the second event being Heresy Era?

I'm not talking FW's new series but the Age of the Emperor rules created by the Tempus Fugitives! (They're much more comprehensive and incorporate all the Legions, not piece meal money filter legions that GW will tease us with!)

I've a few ideas to roll on but would like some feedback from folks...

The rules are available here...

http://www.tempusfugitives.co.uk/downloads

at the bottom to the right! They're in a state of transition to conform to 6th ed at the minute!

The best thing about the Age of the Emperor is that it allows you to play Heresy Era games. It incorporates the rules for all the Chapters and Primarchs of the era...

The worst thing about the Age of the Emperor is that it could prove to be a turn off for many players as it is restricted to the founding Legions. This means folks without a founding legion 40k army would be starting from scratch. Not always a problem, I did a pre-heresy World Eaters army but always had this gaming supplement in mind.

Xenos factions can be involved but Chaos (unless it is after Istvaan) are represented solely by daemons (after istvaan the marine factions are still not the twisted eye of terror dudes we know in 40K).

@Kantor. Impressive, most impressive!

Hey dudes.

The campaign weekends prime link to the hive mind, Ben Crowther, is involved in an epic (the adjective not the gaming system) charity apocalypse event on the 28th and 29th of September! Why is it epic, because its a charity 24 hour apocalypse marathon!

The effort is to help raise fund for Derian House Childrens Hospice, more info for which can be found here... http://www.derianhouse.co.uk/

The event is taking place in Great Harwood, Blackburn!

For more info you can contact Ben vis Facebook, here... http://www.facebook.com/#!/benjamin.crowther.5

Some of the details I am aware of, 4000pts min to 6000pts max. Start at 7pm Friday 28th and finish 7pm Saturday 29th. There is food and potentially beer for those that partake!

I believe attendance requires a charitable donation but I'm sure Ben can fill in the gaps!

Thanks dudes.

Ta da.

Thats great mate. Keep your eyes open on the forum, and for my email update on the 1st of October!

Made it to games day, only a little late. 140 miles from Gatwick to the NEC in less than 1 hour 30 minutes! Had a great day (thanks Mikael). Came second in the Conversion Competition... yay!

Positives + Conversion Comp, Catching up with Mikey, Pre-release books, the Games Day mini being £12 and not £20, the FW Heresy Stuff... especially the massive World Eater Diorama, the shop queue which they got spot on this time round, my flags back to the union, and the toon won 1 nil.

Negatives - Missed out on Angron (went very quickly), Missed out on WE Mk4 shoulder pads (the same), The NEC staff running the queue to get in, Chaos Dragon thing... I didn't like it before, I defo don't like it now (5 quid more for a chaos hellblade, easy choice there then), if not for the poor glue/plastic bond these days I'd have come first in conv comp... thats legit!

Keep your eyes on the thread for the 01/10 update dudes!

In an ideal world everybody would be hunched double at there desks painting, when not at the gaming table rolling their dice. In reality life gets in the way too much and it would be daft to expect every army and every miniature to be fully painted. What I would say is that I'd like the smaller games to feature fully painted miniatures, after all the forces involved aren't going to be an unmanigible scale. The apocalypse game lends itself to the vagueries of life so as long as the majority of miniatures are painted and the remainder base coated, what more can I ask? I may add some disadvantages into the campaign rules for miniatures that aren't at least base coated. Undercoated only or bare miniatures, to a lot of people at events like this, can be seen as lazy and disrespectful. Me, I feel that narrative games really need painted miniatures as they have more character than their unpainted brethren, lending the potential heroics they achieve a greater standing in the memories of the players involved.

Hey dudes... Important Update!!!

Tickets for Animosity - In the Discordia System are Available NOW! (again) http://www.eye-of-the-storm.co.uk/index.php?act=pro&pre=ind_evt_tkt_40k_002_000

Maelstrom Games has renamed the gaming hall, The Eye of the Storm, I hope it does not cause too much confusion!

Onto the other stuff...

The campaign pack has been fiddled with a little, hopefully streamlining one or two small sections. Whether its the final draft yet or not, only time will tell.

I can happily announce that, with the permission of the Tempus Fugitives, Animosity will be running a pre-heresy event. Animosity - In the Age of the Emperor - The Ullanor Crusade, will take place on the weekend of the 30th and 31st of March 2013. Details of this event will be filtered out as we close upon Discordia with the campaign pack being released in December, after the inaugural campaign weekend. Thanks to Ulfhedin of the Tempus Fugitives for being gracious enough to allow us to use the Age of the Emperor Expansion wholesale to co-ordiante the event and for his sterling efforts creating the expansion too. If you'd like to see what all the fuss is about head over to the Tempus Fugitives site... http://www.tempusfugitives.co.uk/

We can also announce that 2013 will se two additional Campaign Weekends. In July we will be hosting, Animosity - In the Novacastrian Hegemony and November will see (the one I'm most looking forward too) Animosity - In the Heart of the Harbinger! What's the Harbinger? Those attending Discordia will get a teasing insight!

Hopefully over the next week or two I will be able to give you some positive news regarding the Animosity Painting Competition that will be conducted during the Discordia weekend... keep your eyes on the thread for an update on that one.

I would like to thank VoxNet Radio, for agreeing to aid the promotion of the Campaign Weekends... heres a link to their site where you can discover for yourself just what I mean... http://voxnetradio.com/

I think thats about it. Thanks to Sar Mikael for, well, just being him...

Remember, get your gaming friends to come along. Keep me informed about what forces you are taking so I can adequately plan the narrative, and I'll see you at the gaming tables!

No worries, I'm starting to work on list creating now. Does the 1500 point list have to be the same for all 3 games?

Also I've built my own Asurman, am I ok to use him? He's got the wargear as per the codex.

Game 3 and 4 should use the same 1500 point army, but game 2 is structured differently. For game 2 you need to make up a 1500 point force and them make 2, 300 point additional forces dependant upon the role you will take dictated by the narrative elements. 300 points should be defensive, using fortifications and stuff and 300 points should be allocated for offensive, to break the fortifications of your opponent if you're attacking! So for game 2 you should have an 1800 point force on the table. The 1500 points used in game two does not need to be the same as the 1500 points in games 3+4.

Of course you can use your conversion dude, as long as your opponent is aware that the miniature represents Asurman. If you're confident of your conversions aesthetic qualities you can enter him into the conversion competition too!

Hey dudes. As is always the way when you try to arrange anything, be it a 40k Narrative Campaign weekend, a birthday party or a stag do... people have a habit of letting you down, some of them without even being polite enough to let you know or to inform you that they can't attend.

With this in mind I have removed the provisional attendance list as trying to organise task forces around people promises to attend was a complete waste of time.

I will add players to the attendance list once they have confirmed with me that they ae attending. Those that have already confirmed will be added to the list when I get a bit more time on my side.

I really want to have a proper rant about it but should have known it would happen really.

Anyway, those who have, are about to and will buy their tickets. Thanks dudes. I appreciate you putting your faith in me for our first event.

If you've decided that your going to go to Warhammer World to play in their one day Kill Team day, not bothered to tell me, but plastered it all over facebook (which I can see by the way), you can get f****d.

phhoooo, now that that is off my chest... the narrative tree is starting to grow and is looking very interesting! It's such a shame that results will mean some of the more interesting threads may not even happen, it all depends on how your games go...

Nukearts are providing a kick ass first prize for the painting competition, remember, you'll have to be in it to win it, as with all the other comps too!

I'm looking forward to seeing what you guys come up with.

That'll do for now I reckon.

Ta da for now.

Hey all!

I just want to say a massive well done to Scott for setting up this and all future events, when someone says one person can really make a difference this is your proof,

Scott has come up with an amazing idea and has managed to get so seriously cool companies involved, we at VoxNet Radio are super chuffed to be able to sponsor this event, if we could be there on the day we would but were going to everything we can to get this noticed and forward moving.

some come on all, get that army together, buy your ticket and make this event something to go down in the history of Terra. We want your photo's stories and battle reports, we might not be able to make it but we are damn sure to cover it the best we can ;-)

The emperor protects!

Well I am looking forward to it. I have been trading, buying and begging for months now. My battle group has grown somewhat and now includes a relic contemptor (pics by weds) and an achiles land raider. The relic is my favourite boasting magnetised arms with a version of every weapon available including a missile pod.

The base is my crowning glory, he has one foot squashing an ard boy surrounded by industrial girders and wire. You will see in the pics in a few days.

The wife completed the bike squad and bought me a second stormtalon for my birthday! She is the best wife ever! (Even though she calls me geek boy where gaming is concerned).

Geordie09 I will be attending. I am going to purchase tickets for me and Ben next Friday (pay day) so keep me on the list please, I'd let you know if I wasn't gonna make it.

Bring it on!

I'm fairly sure that taking the epistolary allows then two psyched powers. Otherwise they would just have force weapon. The force weapon can be used in close combat and is usually carried, in my librarian's case he carries a force stave. He can have 2 mastery points which usually means two powers per round or one level 2 power.

Due to the upsurge in recent rumour mill exposure for the company known as Maelstrom Games, I felt it was necessary to let everybody who is attending the Animosity Campaign Weekend in December, know that the situation regarding the company Maelstrom Games, will not affect the campaign weekend. The venue is no longer called Maelstrom Games and is a seperate concern and company in its own right.

With this in mind I urge all those people who are yet to purchase their tickets to do so without fear of the Maelstrom situation affecting their purchase. If you have already bought your ticket, thank you.

The venue will be open from 9am on Saturday the 15th of December, with Arrival Registration taking place before 9:30 and the initial games beginning at 10am. On Sunday the venue also opens at 9am and as soon as participants are in place the Apocalypse will begin.

The Eye of the Storm will be hosting a Christmas Party on the Saturday evening. Tickets to attend the evenings entertainment are £5 each and will be available to purchase on the day. If you are sure you will be remaining on site to enjoy the festivities, please let me know and I can provide the venue, our hosts, with some provisional numbers.

Thanks dudes.

Ta da for now.

Question, can I alter the list slightly? After play testing things might change a bit. Tonight's line up worked well. 3 tac squads, pedro kantor, relic contemptor, storm talon gunship and Achillies LR. 1750 points but could lose a tac squad to make it 1500.

Comments? What could change or stay?

Also when do you need a definitive game 1 list and a game 5 list?

Hey Kantor. Provided you bring 2 copies of your list on the day, one for opponents and one for yourself, then you can change it at any time really.

I had intended to try to scour each army list and ensure there were no shenanigans but it will have to be up to the players now as time is short and I have too much to do. The main reason for getting folks to email me lists now is to see if they have a larger Apoc force and to find out what some players are actually bringing. There are some tight lips out there and the narrative needs to be worked to what armies will attend.

Finalised lists can be emailed at any time before the weekend if I already know what force you are bringing, which I your case, I do.

I don't know what the plans are for the evening do but they have a bar there so I'm sure most people will find some way of amusing themselves whatever the venue puts on... I'll probably be attending it too, should Sar Mikael agree (he should, I'll be driving), unless we haven't seen the Hobbit by then (unlikely) cos we'll be off!

Nukearts, our painting Competition Sponsor, will be awarding the winner with a secret, professionally painted, to display quality standards, miniature...

Check out their Dakka thread here... http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/0/474291.page
to see the quality of the prize you could be winning!

There is another Eldar player in the process of confirming, and Kitch our Dark Eldar player is yet to confirm... and been relatively quite recently so who knows?

On the subject of attendance...

Can I take a moment to reassure everybody that Maelstrom Games are no longer involved in the venue that we are using any longer. The venue is in no danger of suffering due to the fallout from whatever it is that is happening to Maelstrom Games either. The future of the events will depend on the reputation of the first, don't let the reputation of a store that has nothing to do with Animosity, tear it down before it begins... please!

November is upon us and the event is closing in rapidly, and surprise surprise, my moods are up and down like a pair of knickers on Geordie Shore. Up when I got definitive confirmation that the venue was safe, now down because four players have just jumped. Maelstroms reputation being sited by a couple as their reasons for not attending, others simply because now that it is time to commit they can't be bothered.

Needless to say its a frustrating time, especially since I've started projects for specific factions that now have no representation. We lost both Tyranid players, and i'm in the middle of a project specifically for their task force. We've also lost two Chaos players, so were pretty Imperial heavy too.

What can be done about this? Nowt really. Spread the word, try to get as many people as you come into contact with (preferably who play 40K, we don't need some dude you play squash with who has never heard of Warhammer, but is a terribly nice chap all the same) to attend the weekend. I began this with the idea that the more players that attend the better a weekend it will be, hopefully we just get enough players to make it worth while!

I know it may seem very pessimistic of me, but thats the mood I'm in, and so would you be if you'd put so many hours into this since March. Either way, even if I'm there myself, the weekend is going ahead, so if the idea of people dropping out makes you think twice, think three times and realise that you're still going to get a good load of games in, they'll just all be against me and my Imperial Fists... or Kantors Crimson Fists, or Sar Mikael and his Emperors Children if he ever gets any of them painted.

Don't go away from this long rant thinking, "jeeso, what am I going to that event for..." please, finish reading this and think, "what can i do to help bolster the attendance levels?"

Ta da for now dudes.

geordie

I have to admit I feel some amount of shame/guilt over the nid players, although I shouldn't as I was mess lead too. I am making them aware of my displeasure. You would think that you would ok a weekend away with family before signing up!

I am trying to persuade other possible players and will keep you updated on my progress.

I'll play anyone! I'll fight whoever.

On another note, if there are players who can play but don't have the models then I could potentially borrow nids, tau or IG.

At the very least we can have a tiff between dorns children!

Hey Geordie, real sorry that I haven't been in touch or confirmed yet! I've had so much on with work, and now I'm arranging a charity gig for a family that's recently suffered a bereavement, that I haven't had much, if any, time for myself lately!

I'm still definitely interested in attending, though given current cash flow I won't be able to get enough together to enter in to the apoc match. WIth that in mind, would it be alright for me to just partake in the Saturday match? Narrative-wise that might fit quite well, with the DE running slave raids on day 1 and ducking out of the fight that they can't win on day 2!

Again, truely very sorry for not being active on here in a while, I appreciate how much work you've put in to setting the whole thing up and ass holes like me not being active in the thread must make you feel like it's a whole lot of work for nowt...

Don't worry dude. inactivity on the thread is the least of my worries. You can still play in the Apocalypse mate. Just knock as much together as you can and I'll make sure that when you are fielded with the Eldar players that their immense (I've seen a list and I mean immense) force can keep the game balanced! Its one of the reasons I've asked people to submit lists beyond 4000 points, to help those who can't field 4000 points!

Anybody who attends, whether they post on the thread or not, will have my up-most gratitude! I'll not be giving them money or owt, just a big smile...

Entering the painting competition and placing in the top three will win prizes from these dudes! (Winning prize is awesome!, but you'll have to be in it ti win it).

Thank you! Although I don't know how we'd safely package baked goods!

Correction, I'll send it tomorrow when I get back to Lincoln as it was wiped when I had computer issues last month.

The second podcast from VoxNet Radio is now available to download... check it out here, http://voxnetradio.com/

Some other news... The Eye of the Storm, our gaming venue for the 15th and 16th of December has taken further action to distance itself from the ailing Maelstrom name, and reassure players that it is a company in its own right, by renaming itself again...

Maunsfeld Gaming, is the new designation. The location is the same, so when you see yet another alteration to the venue don't fret.

Don't forget... buy your tickets! http://www.eye-of-the-storm.co.uk/index.php?act=cat&cre=evt-tkt-ind

If you want to check out the new Maunsfeld Gaming website, here is a link... http://maunsfeldgaming.wordpress.com/

I'd imagine that the tickets for further events will be transferred from The Eye of the Storm pages eventually and as it is a new site, Maunsfeld will probably take a few weeks before it has this facility in place (I'd imagine).

Hey Geordie09,

Really pleased to see that this is still going somewhat strong even though you have had a few knock backs etc...

Although The Supply Drop will be unable to attend this event in persons, is there anything we can do to offer assistance to ensure the safety and future of this great event??

Maybe we can advertise on our homepage? Sell Tickets via us or whatever you can think of...

We want to be involved in the future of this project so to help secure it now will make this possible.

Let us know. I will pm you our new contact details etc

The venue are selling the tickets for us, but some push towards helping bolster our attendance would be most appreciated! Everything is almost in place, we just need bums on seats... or something like that!

With the event closing in I need to encourage everybody who has shown an interest, or made moves to join us there, to purchase your ticket/tickets as soon as possible.

As Kantor pointed out earlier in the week, Travelodge Mansfield, if your travelling from outside of a commutable distance, were doing rooms for £25. Whether the price will remain as cheap is beyond my witch sight so please don't leave things to the last minute dudes!

As I've mentioned on a number of occassions, i need time to organise and plan the narrative and as I'm hoping to make sure that every force plays their part in the Campaign story, please purchase as soon as possible and let me know what your bringing so i can incorporate stuff into the plan!

And get your friends to come too, the more players we have the greater the saga that will unfold within the Discordia System...

Thats cool Kantor. One thing though, when you bring the list for your opponents to the weekend you'll need it broken down with points values for units and additinal options!

Georgie

Just checking about the Blitzkerg game @ 900pts in AOTE campagin

I have a list for

10 Raptors with Thunder Hammer (250pts)
1 comtemptor with twin hvy assualt a cannons, havok missle and helic target array (240pts)
1 speeder - skyhammer missles & multi meta (85pts)

2 Interceptor harpies, hawktalon missles and lascannons (320pts)

Should work out at 895pts

Me and Vaks think this would be an acceptable list for the game..

Also if some players dont have many flyers ( i kinda surprised I managed to get 900 pts tbh) can there use normal troops etc?

With regards to your list it looks good dude.

For those players with fewer fliers I'd obviously suggest including an assault squad as the basis for their force, but I've included the ONE heavy ONE tank option in order to help those players bulk out their list. The heavy unit could be a larger devastator variant and the tank a land raider. This would eat a lot of points. Thats just an example obviously.

*Angron Daemon Rules* I can't find my downloaded AOTE rule from the previous edition dude, so I'll have to transfer my hard copy rules to word and send you that or try to send you a decent enough picture if I can. I hope that is still sufficient for your needs. Apologies for losing my data version!

Lol Geordie (i prefer Georgie)

Dont worry about the Angron rules if you cant find it - My painting mate (ie the chap that does all my nice models) want more than a month to do the Krull model for Angron, and i kinda a agree thinking about it.

I most likely post an ork sample list in the next day or so just for an example
