I asked in WW when I saw it missing too,
They needed to redo the mould is all.
Whenever they put "Out of Stock" on something in their online catalogue, it usually means they'll continue to make them, and you can sign up to be notified, once the model is back in stock.
So there's not really any cause for concern.
Whenever a kit is being retired they'll either put them in the "Last Chance to Buy" category, or they will just remove them from the store. So you might have a purchase planned and then, when you eventually have the money ready, find that some of the things you were planning to buy are no longer available. Happened to me a couple of times now.
CragHack wrote: Yeah, available for me too. They COULD bring back Eldar Corsair upgrades and Lynx back, instead of pumping more and more marines though :|
They're only temporarily out of stock - a mould re-do I reckon.

Hopefully a new set that includes the vehicle upgrades/options...

There was a talk on specific FB group, where a guy stated that he talked to FW and they let him understand that everything non Marine related is definitely not a priority. He also mentioned that Vampire Raider could be brought back too. Once they have time for it. So this "mold re-do" thing could possibly last for half a year, or even more, sadly.

The Vampire making a return has been a rumour since January. If it's happening, they're really taking their sweet time with it.
Have the corsairs been out of stock for long? I wouldn't have thought something that got updated rules so recently might be at risk of disappearing but then again that didn't help the sonic lance lynx
I haven't done the maths in proper yet, but off the top of my head it looks like he will. It won't be easy but he has a consistent advantage against Curze and Corax, and be fairly equal against Angron. (Angron should do more damage than Russ can do in the 1st round of combat, however from the second round onwards they're about equal. Angron having 1 less wound is what makes the fight more even).
If Angon killed a few other characters beforehand he should actually beat Russ most of the time, which makes sense since when they did fight Russ lost.
Of course the full rules in Inferno will probably change this and make the fights less hard (or at the very least potentially buff the SWs or his unit more beyond being a Legion Vexilla on a Fearless model...)
What'd you expect from one of the head CQC Primarchs? With his stats he's as skilled and as fast as Agron, though a tad weaker in striking, a better shot with BS6, and survives slightly better thanks to an extra wound and a 2+
Having MKIV shoulder pads in this bundle does not make much sense, does it?
Anyway, I had slight hopes they would put something else up as well, but I guess any other characters or special units will have to wait until the book is ready ...
I dunno if that math on Logan beating Agron is correct. He's got a Paragon Blade and a Power Axe, which is super redundant and don't even compliment each other to give +1 attack.

I dunno, I certainly did not expect him to be ahead of Fulgrim.
Damn, that is a long time. There go my plans for making a corsairs force.
They've been out of stock a really long time, it's seriously taking the piss. I'm just glad I got the Lynx back in September, but even before then you couldn't get the Sonic Lance version.

Fulgrim and Angron are pretty low-powered as they were the first Primarchs.. so it's easily conceivable that newer ones will have better rules. Angron is honestly pretty terrible and I'm at a loss why they don't upgrade the older model's rules to be more useful as they did with the other legion rules.

Giving him another wound and maybe an extra attack would help considerably.

GoatboyBeta wrote: Odd that there not doing bundles for legions other than the SW, especially as some of the upgrade sets seem to be intended for MK3.
Nice thing about the Salamanders helmets, there are four that are Mk IV helmets, and five that are Mk II/III, so they're perfect for that BaC/BoP combo that GW put up.
At least wait until we see the complete rules for his weapons before going crazy about it. Even the basic weapons in the "get-you-by" rules have inherent strength bonuses that add to that S6.

I asked a friend who was visiting warhammer world on saturday to inquire what was going on and it's pretty much what CragHack's already said. The mold needs a refresh but there isn't enough staff to get it done anytime soon. They presumably need to prioritise all that damn power armour!
Huh. That was completely unexpected. I think I like it though? Not sure how well it fits the Imperial aesthetic being so rounded and efficient looking, but it's an interesting design.
Peregrine wrote: Not sure how well it fits the Imperial aesthetic being so rounded and efficient looking, but it's an interesting design.
I think early imperial technology is quite consistently presented as more sleek and rounded, as it's still more connected to the Dark age of Technology. Compare this one with the scimitar jetbikes and the javelin speeders.
The imperial aestetic becomes more bulky and angular as technology regress.
Look at his legs. Is he straight off the cricket pitch.
Look at his pose. Is he static or twisting or what?
Look at his large amount of stuff/pelts/baubles hanging off the back with a large negative space between it and his torso.
Who's piloting that thing though? Custodes are massive compared even to marines... are there also custodes ratlings purely hired on to fit into tiny cockpits?
MeanGreenStompa wrote: Who's piloting that thing though? Custodes are massive compared even to marines... are there also custodes ratlings purely hired on to fit into tiny cockpits?
It's probably like those minisubs used for deep sea exploration: the pilot lays down inside and is suitably uncomfortable.
MeanGreenStompa wrote: Who's piloting that thing though? Custodes are massive compared even to marines... are there also custodes ratlings purely hired on to fit into tiny cockpits?
Some serf presumably. Just like most Space Marine vehicles are crewed in 40K
Contrary to many peoples belief, they don't waste a fully fledged post-human super-warrior to be the designated driver.
Though I too am as curious as others as to who is piloting that thing. Hardwired servitors? I can't see a Custodian like... cramming into that thing. Plus, they are consummate warriors - why pilot a grav tank when they can just have it basically BSC'd?
Automatically Appended Next Post: Also... are those Plasma weapons?
I'm just thinking. Part of the Custodes lore is a Deimos pattern rhino that hovers, the grav rhino. These new models are bulky. Also doesn't that mean the custodes termies would be very bulky and therefore bigger than Dorn?
This is probably off topic but I looked at the 360s of the custodian models and a sigmarine on my desk and the back of the shin plate is basically identical
If Custodes get a full 30k army I may have to break down and finally start 30k. I was able to resist starting a SM legion but holy crap that tank is awesome and the plastic Custodes models are top notch.

That Grav-Tank gives me a tingly feeling like the Sicarian tank did when it was previewed. Yes, I think I will have to get one (or three...). Looks like a Heavy Bolter up front- probably up gradable to a Heavy Flamer, and those main guns...! Maybe some kind of Railgun-ish Autocannon?
If they give us Grav Rhino's that look like this... well, I might have just found my next 30K army.
I figured Custodians were gonna get a unit, maybe special character, and that's about it. I had no idea we would see a fully fledged out army list for them! We've seen Troops, Elites, the Contemptor Dreadnought, and now this tank. Throw in a HQ model, some transports and Bob is your Uncle. Forge World better be careful though! If they make them too awesome, no one will buy any of the other 30K goodies they make.

I agree. This is my major beef with the Custodes models. Their feet are huge and chunky. A major aspect of the Custodes' aesthetic that set them aside from Space Marines is the fact that they have very thin lower legs, which made them more top heavy seeming yet light on their feet. I really dislike the new custodes feet.

I think that line of thought either comes from the fact that alot of the art shows them either unarmored in regards to their legs or covered with ceremonial skirts.
Or its like in that picture where clearly there is something wrong with the proportions of the Legs to the torso.
That said I can see why you'd have a problem with their lower legs seeming 'heavy'
That tank looks bitchin, but like MGStompa, I'm not sure how a Custodes fits in it, unless he's laying down or something. Or controlling it with his mind!
Peregrine wrote: Huh. That was completely unexpected. I think I like it though? Not sure how well it fits the Imperial aesthetic being so rounded and efficient looking, but it's an interesting design.
Looks like old skool landspeeder. Or jet bike. And sweet god am I doing a LC army. Also what book do I need to field my knights in 30k?
The grav tank does look really good. However I never thought I would say this about a GW model, but.......it needs more bling If any army should have all of its stuff covered in unnecessary ornamentation its the Custodes. Those engine intakes would have looked great as eagle heads
You know, I'm not fan of bikes, especially the jetbikes the Imperium have, but if the Custodes get Jetbike sculpts like in that picture, I might have to get some
Best way to ensure you don't spend money: be broke
Speculation but Re Custodes Terminators, the armour on the BoP guys gives them a 2+/5+inv save already. The only advantage non Cataphractii Terminator plate would give over there(I'm assuming) standard armour is the relentless rule So if they do get there own Terminator variant, I think they will be less assault and more heavy weapon focused.
That makes sense. But they have always worn caterphractii plate. I still want caterphractii custodes. Maybe them all being allowed to take heavy weapons?
Seems redundant to put these guys in terminator to armor. That being said I would love to see them made. Grav bike kittens would be sweet. This tank outa nowhere seems to imply a larger release for them than I thought we would see. Grav rhinos, or better a grav Landraider. Art seems to show mostly flamers on temis' and sigh storm bolters. Any guesses as to weather we will see the battle in the emperor's webway?
NivlacSupreme wrote: That makes sense. But they have always worn caterphractii plate. I still want caterphractii custodes. Maybe them all being allowed to take heavy weapons?
There would have to be something extra to make it worth while, as it is Terminator armour of either type doesn't feel like much of an upgrade.

For Horus Heresy/30k, is it worth starting a Legion that hasn't been "featured" yet? Blood Angels and Dark Angels are my two favorite, but neither has a Primarch or special unit yet.

They have their legion rules, but no special units or characters yet.
For Blood Angels, at least, we'll probably be waiting until the Siege of Terra for our good stuff and finally field The Angel on the battlefield . Not sure when FW will release the DA stuff.
I haven't played any 30k yet, was slightly worried that just having the rules wouldn't be enough to deal with other Legion's special weapons/characters.

I would say so. It isn't like they won't be coming. I think you would be disappointed when they do come out and you didn't pick the Legion you really wanted.
Requizen wrote: I haven't played any 30k yet, was slightly worried that just having the rules wouldn't be enough to deal with other Legion's special weapons/characters.
That's not something to worry about. The special characters might get a nifty gun or warlord trait, but you can still customize your army without them. Certain HQ's, namely Praetors and a few exceptions, will grant you access to "Rites of War". These are purely optional, but would allow you to build a fluffy army without the rest of the characters and special units from your army.
Want to play Space Wolves assaulting Prospero or some other fortress world? Take the Orbital Assault Rite of War and every unit can take Drop Pods (Normally, that's not allowed in 30k, FYI).
Want to play a White Scars or Dark Angels army loaded with Jet Bikes? Sky Hunter Phalanx grants you Jetbikes as troops, along with other special rules.
And as Vash108 says, pick the Legion you really want. You'll be disappointed in 6 months when it comes out and you settled on something else.
Custodes, Sisters and Mechanicus for a War in the Webway themed army, my wallet will weep but I have literally been waiting years for this!
Can't wait to see if we finally get a grav Rhino or some sweet Custodes on jetbikes. I feel like the jetbikes will come sooner rather then later since in A Thousand Sons they are specifically mentioned (albeit getting shot down).
That grav-tank is a thing of beauty, looks like it would give Eldar a right good surprise...
The artwork for Custodes jetbikers shows them riding the MkXIV Bullock pattern, like Sammael. As they get all the fanciest toys, and this would be the most up-to-date mark by the Heresy, I think they would most likely get MkXIV jetbikes. Although they may get a unique variant that is even more cutting edge than the MkXIV.
Requizen wrote: I haven't played any 30k yet, was slightly worried that just having the rules wouldn't be enough to deal with other Legion's special weapons/characters.
Start it up!
I think I got into 30k 2 months ago with Thousand Sons. So having literally nothing at all to work with still make a fluffy army. I take multiple level 2 librarians, cast some spells and shoot at lots of stuff trying to avoid CC. Now finally Thousand Sons time has come (though it wont be til Feb of 17 that book 7 comes out). I'm on to figuring out my loyalist legion to use/start!

I actually asked Alan Bligh about this at the Forgeworld Open, his answer was something along the lines of "Why do people keep mentioning Signus?". He said that he finds Signus less interesting than so many other fights they could do for the Angels, mainly because it would be just them and Daemons. As far as he was willing to tell us anything, it did not sound like they were doing Signus or Thramas in book 7. Of course this was in July, so things may have changed between then and the book being done. But this was what Alans feelings were on the matter..

I'd rather see them on Murder, but that would be them going back in time again before the beginning of the Heresy. But it could bring in the spider aliens .

The usual lead time on basically any professional printing job is about four months from dispatch of the final master. Of course that assumes the previewed version was final and checked for issues that might make it unprintable, which would extend the lead-time considerably if found.
So, they are long overdue. The sheet I saw looked like a final set - like the Makabius one, but Vyronii emblems and stuff. Almost 10 months since the preview and it has been considerably longer since HH4 released. Going to die of old age before I see them, it feels like!

I wonder if the HH Custodes will have more "troop" choices/models than the plastic kit from BoP? If GW follow the same release pattern as the Calth kits its going to be quite a while before there sold separately.

I would like a transport for game play, but what would they need fluff-wise in the Imperial Palace.
The imperial palace is huge, a transport is still something that could be used. Heck, we do the same thing today with those golf-cart things at airports. If an anti-grav tank is needed instead of static gun mounts, a transport isn't impossible. That being said, I would assume a 5-man capacity max.

But I want the new Knight too. That thing is a MONSTER! If the rules down change from the previews, it will make a great Knight Aspirant. Hehehe.
I'm really hoping the Knight Porphyrion goes up on pre-order, myself, while the GBP conversion rate is still good.
I am just hoping for my damn decals to go up for sale. Previewed in Sept - how long does it take to print these things!?
But yea, the new Knight is going to be expensive as hell, given how it has grown in size since those first previews. Would be nice not to have to pay an arm and a leg for it.

Dammit. They were previewed like 10 months ago now. This wait for decals is just absurd. :(
And where are my Vyronii decals?! It is going on almost a YEAR since they previewed the completed sheet. One year! Sheesh.

Yep. And it just ticked over to September, marking at least a year since the decals I am dying for previewed. So... hope they sneak those into this inbound release too. Sigh.
Wish they would put more heft back behind something not 30k for just a while.

HALLELUJAH! A year later and finally at the printers. Now I think I can comfortably start building the army, as by the time they release I should be at the decal stage. Sweeeeeeet!
Thanks for the update. Now I will whine about it much less!

No idea who the are marketing this to, but hey... someone out there will order it. Right?
Ugh. I like them... but come on FW, where my Vyronii at?!
Have you talked to anyone at FW about this?
Thank you, sir. After waiting over a year for their release, I am trying not to lose hope. I asked them and they gave their usual non-answer. These were previewed at an Open in Sept 2015 and recently they were confirmed going to the printers... allegedly.
I have alllllllllll my Knights just waiting for decals at this point. SEVEN Knights. You would think they wouldn't be dragging their feet on Knight accessories... especially since Makabius dropped so fast. Le sigh.
I am hoping they are for sale at this upcoming Open, so I know the will be for general consumption shortly thereafter.
More news about what will be available First Access - before general release - at the Warhammer 40,000 Open Days on November 5th and 6th, with these Pheonix Power Spears and Power Scythes for the Emperor's Children Legion and Death Guard Legion!
The real question here is what wasn't released today? It may be a dead game right now, but I'm glad to see some LOTR stuff and even happier that it seems to be keeping the style of the old models instead of falling into the trap of "main" GW's "MAXIMUM SKULLS PER SQUARE INCH" design goals.

Dead game? You've gotta be kidding? Ardacon literally just happened last weekend and it's the single biggest LoTR event that's happened. There was at least 500 people for the tournament there and Forge World was there to sell the above releases early. All of which were an instant sell out.
Those dwarfs are great. GWslotr dwarves always were one of the best on the market and these tie in well.
And we had to wait only 2 years for Dain to arrive, but he's finally there. Guess pigs just aren't that fast...
The prices are... well, they are forgeworld prices I guess and what was to be expected. They are in line with the last GW failcast prices but for better resin.

Maybe it still has an event somewhere, but I haven't seen a single person playing it and I think the only store that bothers to put it on the shelf is the local GW store. And this stuff is the first attention GW has given the game in a very long time. I think that's a pretty safe definition of "dead", even if we're hoping FW will do a little necromancy on it.

Nah, disagreeing with you there. The game is anything but dead and is on a massive resurgence. It's got tournaments and events going on pretty much every month. Don't knock it just because you don't see it being played. And it's not the first attention, reissues of models and the core army books has been going on for about the past year.
So, it costs the same to produce Dain plus pig and sans pig as it does to produce 12 Iron Hills dwarfs, in order to sell them both at £40? Pfffffft. That 'presentation box' must be expensive!

Yeah, because we're buying at production value? 5 Sternguard are more expensive than 10 Tac Marines. Being a hero or elite unit results in a higher price.

If you want to try and make that point, you need to contrast Space Marine Commander with the Tactical Squad instead, and you'll see that the Commander isn't the same price as the tac squad.
The space marine commander is a pretty old model. A better comparison would be any of the more recent clampack SM characters which are a lot closer in price to the Tactical Squad.
Yeah, this seems like something one of the sculptors threw together on their lunch break because they didn't have anything better to do. And the mediocre painting work isn't helping them.

They look like armorcast heads, which actually makes me happy in that stupid way only nostalgia can do.
I want the AdMech ones for my House Raven court and the generic ones to spice up my Vyronii Questoris army.
Still waiting for the Nostraman chainglaives we saw back in June/July. FW why you do this? I have money sitting here in my Paypal waiting for you to release these. Do you not want my money? it is yours, you just have to release the products so I can throw fists full of cash at you.
Hulksmash wrote: Ohhh, Iron Warrior dice!!!! Sold!! Just sad I'm paying FW shipping for them....
Yeah, I would have been so all over them if the shipping hadn't been so expensive.
I am way too excited for the power spears though. Been thinking of maybe starting up a 30k/40k Emperor's Children force ever since I got my hands on one of those awesome sonic dreadnoughts. Sonic weapons are just an awesome idea. And spears. I just looove spears. And the Eidolon miniature is also totally amazing. Okay. I just convinced myself. Definitely starting Emperor's Children now.
Doubtful, however it appears it's been reprinted as a softback:
Imperial Armour - The Anphelion Project is a 164 page, full colour softback book that contains rules and unit profiles for the entire range of Forge World’s Tyranid models, allowing you to use them in games of Warhammer 40,000. The book also featuresextensive background information on the gruesome array of monstrosities spawned by the Hive Mind in its war to consume the Imperium, making it an essential resource for players seeking to unleash the true horror of the Tyranid menace upon their foes.
Really looking forward to the day that dice for all legions are out. The GW Ultramarines dice just don't do it for me, and those Forgeworld ones look lovely.
The Forge World dice are superior to the GW 16mm dice in many ways.
1. Forge World dice are a "true" 16mm, while the GW dice are about 15mm.
2. FW dice have the symbol on the six, something that is just like a "standard" in every game I've ever seen. Think about this: When I blow a die roll, (roll a 1), do I really want to see the symbol of my chapter? No, because my chapter just failed. Far better to have it on a six, where the power of my chapter (Legion) can be fully felt when I roll well. I have no idea why GW wants players to associate failure with their chapter symbol. Now, if you wanted to roll 1's all the time, then I could see it.
3. The GW dice feel like they are a different kind of material over the FW dice. They are lighter too. Makes me suspect the balance of the GW dice.
4. Funny enough, the 12mm dice GW makes are actually very nice. The symbol is on the one face, the dice are "true" 12mm, they feel like real dice. Still too expensive if you ask me- Chessex sells 36 12mm dice blocks for about US$6. You only get 20 dice for US$8 from GW.
For me, the symbol should be on the one from an aesthetic perspective, not a semantic one- I don't care about the symbolism of rolling your preferred symbol for a one (which is a good roll when your unit is doing something courageous anyway). I do care that the symbol is visually similar to a pip for a one, and not like 6 pips, I personally feel that the dice looks wrong when there are two sides with a single design on.

The lack of communication between FW and GW is pretty astounding. I wll never buy GW symbol dice, because as you said seeing your symbol on the one is total crap. Yet forgeworld knows this and puts it on the 6. Very mindless and simple to do...
There was a cool video on youtube showing how to check your dice balance quick and easy. Water and salt.

Those rules aren't too shabby. Kinda expensive but a pair of them are pretty good at taking out transports and smaller infantry. However, is more of that needed?

Yeah expensive and there is more then enough things out there that kill transports dead fast.

Sweet looking model tho.
It's a Flying Monstrous Creature, so it'll be good for dealing with enemy flyers like Fire Raptors. Anti-air was defintiely something that the Legio Cybernetica was a bit short on before without resorting to Primaris Lightnings or dedicating your Thallax to AA (probably not the best of ideas since only Troops score in 30K).
It's good for Legio Cybernetica players - it's a second cyernetica-cortex unit choice for the FA slot that can fulfill the stipulation about having to take a cybernetica-cortex unit before being able to take a non-cortex unit.
I'm considering one; might use one to get up the postage limit when the macrocarid explorator becomes available.
Wow, half an hour to sell out. Lesson: if you have any hope of going to the weekender events you'd better camp the FW website every friday morning to have a chance!
It turns out that my over zealous spam filter ate the email from FW. A quick phone call yesterday got me a ticket and a 2nd got me a room at the hotel.
BTW, if you have a ticket and want a room I'dd suggest calling ASAP to get a room as they go fast.
More IK options are always good to see even if there not to my personal taste. The more "knightly" heads that were previewed at the same time look a lot better IMO. What I'd really like to see and what would cause me to drop more money on Knights are more weapon options for the plastic kit.
Is that a wolfs tail in that contemptor pic? On a cavalry base? Like a primarchs wolves might have, if they hadn't been deliberately cropped out of the picture?
Apparently yes.
Is forgeworld taking the piss? One wolf looks the old GW plastic wolf.
I think I would have preferred the smaller normal demon prince sized magnus. Not everything that is powerful in 40k needs to be turned into a cabbage patch kid sized army man.
The size for Magnus is correct per the book "Battle of the Fang", where Magnus can increase his size at will and pick up dreadnoughts in his hands and throw them.
I didn't realize this was mostly HH stuff. I'm truly disappointed at the lack of any info on IA 14. We've been waiting for nearly a year and this custodest stuff just rolled out and now FW is all over it. I haven't purchased anything in that long since I've been saving my money and waiting for the new AdMech options so that I could load up on FW stuff but I really must say that with he amount of time they've taken I've completely lost interest. I'm pretty much ready to just list it all on eBay. They took me past anticipation and into apathy and I know I'm not the only one who feels that way.
Dramagod2 wrote: I'm truly disappointed at the lack of any info on IA 14.
It's already been said that IA 14 won't be out until next year, if you were expecting anything you weren't keeping up with the news very well.
There has been rumor, not news. The only actuall news has been the previews that FW has officially released, most of which were long ago. From a customer perspective, looking at what the company has actually put out, it looks horrible. FW announced a new product. Began to market and hype it through events and then forgot about it all together. Almost everything else They've previewed this year will be available by Christmas, yet IA:14 is nowhere to be found. Hell, recently it seems like they've been dropping new products left and right and these custodes came out of nowhere and they've fleshed them out into a whole line seemingly overnight. It's just not good followthrough and it's beginning to leave a bad taste in my mouth. It's one thing to just hope That something will be release, like sisters. It's another to be told it's coming almost a year ago and then not only not have it arrive, but then to see a deluge of other new stuff in its stead while everyone at FW suddenly stops talking about it like it never existed in the first place.
"I went to the FW event and the author said 'delayed until 2017'" is news. These are not rumors from anonymous sources we're talking about, we have explicit statements from FW. And yes, it's frustrating to see IA 14 delayed in favor of more 30k stuff and garbage like the knight heads, but having a poor schedule is not the same as no news existing. I am not defending the delay, only pointing out that if you've been following news on the book there was no reason to expect to hear anything besides "still coming later" at this event.
It isn't like IA14 is the only delayed thing either, HH7: Inferno has also been delayed (although admittedly that delay has been known for a long while. We were told 1-2 events ago it wasn't going to be here until February unlike the November/December release they had mentioned earlier in the year).
You just have to hope it doesn't end up like a certain sheet of decals... (I'm sorry for bringing them up, I swear!)
I didn't realise the wolves were quite that big! They dwarf a standard marine if I'm seeing them right. They do look amazing though.
Custodes releases are hot to trot. No sign of any sister vehicles or alternate models yet.
It should also be pointed out that Custodes haven't come out of nowhere, we were told they would be coming in HH7 way back in February, so it really shouldn't be a surprise that since we are, allegedly, only a few months away from said books release that models are being previewed.
If anything, it was a far bigger surprise to find GW main tying in the Burning of Prospero box set with HH7 by releasing their own Custodes and Sisters, I can guarantee no one saw that one coming.

When we found out that book 7 was delayed until February ish we were also told that IA14 was coming after it at the same time
If Custodes are bigger again than Space marines, wouldn't their Contemptor be bigger than the normal legions? I understand not their entire body is interred but still i'd guess physically even the good bits they use would be larger?
