I don't really think so. There's only so much you can do with robotic skeletons.

It's true that robot skeletons don't leave much room for imagination, but I can't imagine GW letting out a new codex without shinier, costlier models to go with it.

But realistically, how many options are there with a race made up of soulless, deathless metal robots? Unfortunately, I dont think the way the Necrons are designed lends them to really being a very interesting army, and they dont really have anywhere they can go. Everything they could make would really just be a further variation of what they already have. It'll all just look like Terminators in the end. It always does.
All I can think is maybe there could be 2 new C'tan, the Outsider and the Void Dragon (though in terms of fluff these two are either insane and lost, or buried on Mars and dormant, respectively).

The current ones look good but they need more options and unit types. They are too boring to build a list for right now. Thats more of a codex issue than a model range right now though.

Well, here's what needs to change:
Necron Warriors: More dynamic poses, more archiac looking models. The artwork in the codex really shows a lot of emotion (I'm aware of the irony, that's what makes the artwork so good), and the models just don't capture this at all. Giving some more dynamic poses (the picture of a warrior swinging his gauss rifle comes to mind, it's absolutely chilling) would helpt hem a lot. And we know that they'll be repackaged and repriced anyway, so they might as well be redone.
Necron Pariahs (yes, NECRONS): Completely redo them, but this time make them match the artwork. The artwork, once again, is amazing. The models... look incredibly stiff and look like they may have an eating disorder.
Flayed Ones: Well, along with making them troops, make them plastic.
Immortals: See Warriors.
Wraiths: More action poses. They look like they're scared, rather than scary. They have those snake-like spines, use them! Coiling, twisting, writhing. That's what these guys need.

A lot of their designs are fine, they just need to have their metals resculpted into plastics. Adding options would be nice too, but that would have to happen to the codex as well as the kits.

I personally reckon that the whole range shouldn't be re-done per se but certain key units (as pointed out by Fafnir) re-done in plastic. Make each plastic kit full of conversion bits like the Sanguinary Guard and Death Company kits.

I think they should make the Lord its own box set first off. Bunch of options on him, (yes even the option of going on foot, or destroyer body) I mean the Lord reminds a bit like the Chaos Lord. The Chaos Lord is the center of the CSM army, and they ALWAYS look awesome, Necron Lord? Nope pretty bland.
I think most of their minis look pretty decent, but I agree if they revamp the minis, they need more striking looks. They are a tad boring looking. I dont think they need a bunch of new units though. That thought always bugged me really. I know that sounds counter intuitive as far as making money, but really its just how the army runs. Having a bunch of weird units like in codex space marine or the like, sure that fits THEM, not the Necrons.

Kinda hard to come up with new models for a bot army.
Guess that they'll stay like the Black Templars, stuck with one troop choice.
I agree on the points of changing the metals for plastics and on the lord boxed set idea.
Also some more bitz on the boxes wouldn't hurt as it would help with modelling and conversions.

I think if GW can't come up with more than Robo-Skellington (cross ref. Jack) then they are in serious trouble.
The mini's should be versatile and have the ability to be easily kit-bashed.
The monolith is single handedly the most unique mini within the range and all new minis should aim to surpass this.
If the Galaxies Harvesters can't be represented properly then what hope do we have for progress?

I dont think any of the current models are in desperate need of updating. Maybe plastics for destroyers ect but no changes are really needed. What they really do need is a couple of new units all with new models, make the army a little more diverse.

I think at the very LEAST, we need some sort of multipose Warrior kit, and possibly some sort of unit upgrades for them. We also need either a metal box set or (vastly preferable) a plastic box set for Immortals. Such a nice unit, but not when said unit costs $100 all by itself. And of course Necrons need some new toys. There are an infinite number of things GW could come up with for the Necron Army, just look at some of the new units/models people have built. You mean to tell me that they thought to build a Destroyer Lord, but never a Wraith Lord or possibly a Spyder Lord? They're only capable of carrying a single gun? Preposterous.

I think they'll get a special character which will be an infiltrator who is made of living tissue over a metal endo-skeleton and his rule wont be "we'll be back" it will be "I'll be back" and it'll happen on a 2+ whatever kills him (like eternal warrior but cooler), also a second special rule will be "give me your clothes, your boots and your motorcycle" which means he will steal the enemy commanders gear and start the game wherever the enemy's commander is deployed.
You heard it here first

I'm very much in the 'designs are fine, but plastic would be better' camp. Particularly on the Heavy Destroyers. Metal/plastic hybrids are the work of the devil.

They need plastic kits for pariahs, immortals and such units. And I'm positive they could be redone -including warriors-, keeping the skeleton-robot look, but in a more dynamic way.

I thought the Warriors were a pain to assemble unitl I got to the Immortals . Immortals, Pariahs and Flayed Ones need to be plastic. Heavy Destroyers need a decent plastic cannon, the current one looks awful. Wraiths would also be better in plastic.
Making the warriors easier to assemble and more posable would be nice, but I could live with them how they are.

As out of date as the Necron Codex is, it’s a remarkably complete model line requiring little to no kit bashing to create. I actually believe Necrons, more than any other faction in 40k, should be marketed opposite Space Marines in “starter kits” for no other reason than they’re easy to paint and the model line is complete.

I get the feeling that that boring uniform look was kind of what GW was going for with the minis... and I'd point out that all GW artwork is more intricate and interesting than the minis... although they COULD provide more bitz for a bit more customization.
Of course, you can always just get creative with them... for example, I considered starting a Necron army from a Tomb World that was also an Imperial Hive World, but these Necrons weren't buried quite as deep and the Hive's sewers exposed some of their tombs. The Necrons would wade into battle covered in all manner of graffiti and ridiculous-looking ornamentation, but being robot-zombies wouldn't realize it.

Well, I am a big fan of new models. There really isn't any reason we can't have new models. The Necrons are an ancient race and may have any number of odd creations that do different things. Who's to say that underneath in those tomb worlds, the spyders are only tending to monoliths and warriors? The rest just hasn't been awoken yet. And I'm totally for a lame idea btw, captain planet! when my destroyers combine, they turn into my new vehicle! Ok, I admit laaame! But, it is different than the terminator theme most like to assume belongs to the Necrons. If I sit and think about it, the reasoning for the numerous entries in other codexes isn't for the purpose of merely adding variety, or fluff, or likeability. It's for the purpose of fulfilling a role in the army. So I opt for new models that fill unfulfilled roles. I would like an uber bamfy CC unit that can move fast and doesn't cost me 1000 points. Something that would be on par with Nob bikers or jump pack infantry. Ok, so admitadely that could just be an upgraded wraith, which I would die to see in plastic with larger squad sizes. But, as for models specifically, how about smaller vehicles? Necron fluff says they raid, so let's get some small troopy transporty vehicles to do just that. And, I have to agree, pariahs do need some upgrades, plasticness, awesomeness, and weapons that don't constantly snap the tips off! Well, there's my two cents for this

I might just be echoing statements already said, but I feel that the general design scheme as of now is pretty much good. I like the skeletal robot look, they do that pretty well. Personally, my only wish is that they would have a bit more of a Tomb King look, just a quick DoW reference, when you blinged up the Necron Lord with all the armor, he looked incredible. Deathmasks, golden ornamentation, that sort of thing. I felt it added a small amount of character to him, (Though it was only one unit getting the customization) and Necrons need as much character as they can get. Of course, I might just be silly and you Necron players might absolutely Luuuuuurve your grey cold identical legion of skeleton robots completely unornamented.
Also they need some posable models with some actual variation. Seriously, what's the point of having multi-part plastic if you cannot customize unless you bring out the green-stuff.
(First post! And yes, even I thought it was TL;DR. Sorry.)
