I've been playing orks for a long long time. I recently decided it was time to update/rebuild/replace my orks; again.
So with that said I will start my project log here and see where it goes. I plan to do great coat orks, cyborks, mega/meka dreads, etc, etc.
First off I'd like to showcase some great conversion bits I picked up from MAXMINI.eu
Cyborks made with Kromlech and GW ork bits. You can get them from maxmini here.
Here is a Cybork Slasha Mob, for use with the IA8 ork army list (or just use for nobs with cybork bodies) made from mixing the plastic nobs and Kromlech ork bits. For the legs I cut up some of the kromlech bits for variety.
I picked up some FW grot tanks. I love these little buggers! I built extra grotzookas for them as well.
Here they are fully painted.
Kromlech just release some turrets that just happen to fit the grot tanks perfectly!
They also look really good on the GW battle Wagon kit.
Here it is with the regular guns.
I also picked up this ork kannon from Kromlech. I plan to make a battery of grot kannons out of these.

Lovin the scheme on the Grot tanks and the whole Battle Wagon, those Kromlech parts do really fit in with the Orks don't they?

Thanks.
For the rust I use several different techniques.
I primarily use pigments from Mig Productions. They have a dark and light rust pigment. I apply it in one of three ways generally.
1. I brush it dry and then use a sealer
2. brush it on dry then use Mig Thinner for washes to spread it around and get it into the recesses. The use Mig pigment fixer to seal it. You can also use this for making streas by letting the thinner flow down the side of the model with the piments.
3. I also use oil paints. I dilute them a bit then apply there I want streaks. Then I take a clean dry brush and brush the oil paints in the direction I want the streaks.
I hope that helps. There are some great tutorials on the web that can give you some good pics and all.
Next time I do one I will get some in process pics and try to write up my own tutorial as well.

Wow, amazing work elotsip, love both old and new, you really have deff skulls off to a fine art, great conversions, kit bashes and painting. My favourites are all those great tanks though, really well done. For the fw grot tanks, could you tell us how you made the extra grotzookas? ohh and thanks for the Kromlech turret tip, very useful

got the grot mega tank done finally.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Built a counts as deff kopta. A grot fighta. It uses the grot from the BW kit and the head from the storm boyz grot.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Just picked up some bits from Kromlech. I really like them.
Pack fo 3 running legs:
Pack of 3 back packs:
And some heads, 3 of these are nob size heads which is cool.
Automatically Appended Next Post: I was not happy with my first grot tanks so I sold them and got some new ones to paint up. I actually got two sets of them.
New grot tanks:
Automatically Appended Next Post: Hey guys, been slow going lately. I did manage to get a few hours to work on a little bit of stuff though.
I got the killa blasta assembled.
I also got my FW stompa built. I can honestly say that out of all the models I have built getting the belly gun to fit was the most annoying of all. It just did not fit right at all. I had to get my heavy duty heat gun out and reshape a lot of it to make it fit. Even then I had to trim some and I still need to fill in some gaps.
After lookinga at the bits I had left over from the stompa I realized that all I needed was the feet, body and power plant to make another. So I picked up the feet and body for $20 and I will just build the power plant/exhaust. I added a belly flame belcha. Not sure what I will do with the other arm; CCW, Lifta droppa, another deff kannon?
I've also been working on some boyz using kromlech bits. I really like them as they give the orks a more military feel to them.

Some really fantastic conversions in here. The Kromlech bits are really something. Also, rather creative use of topknots on that looted Hellhound. Never would've thought of that, myself.

Been doing more work on the orks lately. Finished up a cybork nob squad with doc, mek and waaagh banner. Also finished up 3 more kans and 4 grot tanks.
Here are a couple of PIP pics of the Dread and the grot fighta.
I'll get the rest of the pics up shortly.
