It remains to be seen if War Scythes would even stay the same as they are today (in the leaked GK Codex, the C'Tan Phase Blade is changed to causing instant death instead of ignoring all saves, so if that goes to print you can essentially kiss the existing war scythe goodbye). If they were changed, then sure... if he wants them as they are now, I would expect to pay LOTS per model.

Depends on who you are, but considering most models in the game are 1 wound, any unsaved wound will kill it anyway. So yes, it would be better against nids and maybe orks (who have horrid saves anyway), it is far... FAR less universally deadly then a model whose CC attacks ignore ALL saves.

Seriously though, I would have to agree with Magister187.
Their point costs would skyrocket and you wouldn't be able to field as many.
It'd be more cost effective to give them some sort of rending attack as opposed to causing ID.

IMO a Warscythe would kind of throw the whole look of a Wraith out of balance, I think of Wraiths as Stealthy, elegant looking models, not a Destroyer with ground contact and a warscythe.

Necrons aren't Marines, so Ward won't OP them
They'll likely get hit with the nerf-bat, and then get a few new plastic kits as consolation...

Every Necron codex will come with a free kick in the balls...
Actually on second thought it is highly unlikely GW would give anything away for free. Instead you will need to buy a WD that contains a coupon that you can redeem at GW stores to have staffer punt you in the nads.
Also Necrons will get a unit riding giant robotic wolves. It's all the rage now and the kiddies love it...

I hope the warscythe goes the way of the new C'tan phase blade in the GK book-it'll still be good, just not quite as good as it is now. But the rest of the codex should balance out when the new edition hits. However, I agree that wraiths should either get power weapons like lightning claws (have them act more like wolf claws-choosing which to re-roll before combat starts) or give them rending. Those would probably be better for them.

I like the way people turn the idea down straight away
I would love it.
Im paying a pretty high price for a model with a single wound, that is combat orientated, but has no special combat weapon or rules.
scythes are a 10 point upgrade on lords.
And pariah's arent too bad on points when compared to other units for what you get.
I'd be happy with an extra wound though for them.
Or at the very least, power weps.
Monster - Im happy with thier ability to turbo boost
While on the same note as necron CC units and weapon upgrades, flayed ones need rending, or something at the very least

Erm, kaine, they have no necron rule, they are slow, poor save, no transport options. And in general just poor in CC. No one takes them as they are Also, where did the warscythe being changed come from? Love it as it is. Edit: Dont forget that pariah's are also nearly £9 each for a very poor sculpt, and lack of poses.

That's the point. Nobody takes them now, excluding perhaps that one guy who thinks that auto-save-negation shenanigans is awesome
Removing that and well, you may as well remove the unit altogether and forget it ever existed

Dont get me wrong, they are amazing when used right, but its highly situational.
I will take 6 or so with a scythelord, but only against deathwing armies.
Nothing better than mincing through hammer and shield termies before they can attack, and ignoring any saves they have.
However, they will die when fighting other things due to a low initiative, low attacks and no ability to get back up.
They need the necron special rule and they will be golden.
That way you can just veil them about when and where needed.
Saying that, i havent brought a single ugly ass model from GW for them
The whole unit is converted from warrior kits (as are my immortals)

Unless of course they alter Pariah rules later: give them transport options, give them better abilities in combat-it can be done-they just need an update. GW does actually visit these forums occasionally-they've seen what we want and if they can fit it in, it might happen. A couple people on here (myself included) have made 'Cron fandexes and GW may steal ideas from them, giving us what we want to see. Don't rule them out as completely gone yet until the Necron rumors start coming in. As of right now, the only rumors we have for the entire army is that they are coming in October and that the C'Tan weapons will be power weapons that cause instant death. For those of you living under a rock, this rumor is caused by the GK codex with the assassin that wields a C'tan phase blade-her attack causes instant death.

Warscythes defined Necrons with their motif of "Ok, see that rule book we are using? I'm going to ignore half those rules and negate the other half you follow" What with their ability to come back, living gods of death and a vehicle that screams like the grand galactic inquisitor
