I was thinking about buying those texture pads myself. Would they be worth me buying them, especially since I would have to pay oversees shipping?

Also this:

Apologies for the lack of pwetties, hopefully a few days away combined with a bunch of new shinies to play with will mean there's a burst of productivity next weekend.

that brass edged stuff looks very promising... never did any research in that matter...hmmm....specailly the fans look delicious...

on another thread i saw the GS devices too... they even makre some fur-making device...what did you pay for all this anyway... must have been rather two robbed banks me thinks...

Either that or elaborate radio towers.

shaso - Well, no real work anyway And they weren't up when you first posted

dstein - Always good when the supplies hit

dakkagrot - A mega-dakka uber-wagon?

neil - How could I resist such a gadget? The North Face seems to be covered in algae, that probably didn't help either. And are you all rabbits now?

Primarch - Well I've only just started playing with them and I can see umpteen uses for them already. If you're into cabling (and I know you are ) I reckon they're a must. Might be worth seeing if anyone your side of the pond stocks them though, I suspect it'll be a long old wait for delivery as well as the postage charge.

Well, it turned out to me more draining than I thought, but I still got a little done

Excellent books, excellent TV series, never bothered with the movie

vik - Figured I had to use the ol' vik eyebrows at some point on my blog

Combination of birthday money and a complete lack of social activity for two months put a little spending cash my way, plus a little extra from an aunt who inherited a bit. That bank's waiting for later

Yeah, I like the look of those fans, really hope they'll sell them seperately. You should look into some photo-etched stuff, there's a whole load of gear available for tanks, and although it can be a bit pricy you can dish bits out from one sprue over a whole variety of models. I have some sprues going back years and years which have only had one or two items clipped.

Yeah, I saw someone mention they used them to get the funky looking cabling he had on his guy and instantly went looking to make a bookmark. Didn't notice the fur device though, have to have another look some time.

*slaps hand*

mullet - I can see the resemblence

shaso - I almost went for the transmission towers

dstein - Close, they're actually 1/1000 dock cranes. I had no real use for them, but thought as I was buying some treats, some tiny fretwork might come in useful bionik-wise

graven - As said, I think they're pretty darn cool bits of kit. They did cost 20 Euros, plus 10 shipping and took an age to get here, about a month. There's 3 sets each comprising two identical templates. You can get various effects from one set by varying the pressure you use when rolling. Then you can mix and match the sets for more effects or run them at angles to each other for more.

So, seemed to be missing that hoped for spark when I got back, lot of info to take on board over the week. Good food at the hotel though, and there were a couple of Fawlty-esque moments for general gaks and giggles.
Rather than jumping into my boyz with a passion I spent most of yesterday reading a couple of books, playing spider solitaire and generally doing bugger-all. Which meant I had to spend a good portion of today doing this weeks assignments. And reading the relevant chapters. Socio-economic and technological factors, and how they affect the business environment. Hmm, tasty.

Right enough whinging, what have I actually done that's of interest? A little bit

#1 (It's too late to think of their monikers right now )

Nothing like replacing an arm with a leg to go with the two-face look. Bit of GS needed to fill some gaps in the shoota and make a knotted trouser leg. A few wires on the leg, and still flipping between cogs or wires protuding from the bionik side of the head. Used some punched plasticard circles to make the foot, and was pleased enough with the look to make that one of the 'standard' foot pieces for a while. And used a bit of the zinge ammo.

#2

Head was going to be a Cyclops style guy for an x-men based squad, but in the end I couldn't come up with enough cyber-bits for all of them. And let's face it, Wolvie's the only one of interest anyway Slugga from a shoota, back gubbins from a KMB and choppa needs tidying and mould line shaving. Transportation from a light fitting, not decided whether it's a wheel-type thingummy, or a hover-type thingummy yet.

#3

Did I mention I have a cable making device? Should really have used a more orky head with those legs, but this one was attached to a torso with some gubbins on the bottom waiting for a pair of bionik legs to be built. Looked like three old-skool robot legs would fit just as well to me Almost got a couple of tentacle type arms too, but then you'd have had no chance of telling it was actually an ork Not sure if he's doing the orky tripod dance or just about to start walking up the side of a building Still needs some GS filling and tidying.

That should keep you going for a little while at least....

I love #1 and #3, I'm not quite sold on the 2nd one because of the use of the lamp. My suggestion is to add some sort of tubing or wires or some sort of gubbin of that nature to it, running from its back thing to the top of the hover device.

well i must be getting myself some nice relatives that try to drown me in chash this season too... seems it is totally the fashion now^^

the cable device sure did pay off... hail to the triple leged gods! that is looking ace! that two face is looking very cool...only nitpick isfor the leg joint... looks a tad too fishy even for mek doc...better do something without that bit there... tho the leg in itself looks super! that visor cyclops guy is also looking amazing! and you are absolutly right about wolvie! he is da man!^^ oh and by the way.... tho i really like how you changed those orky guns... the first barrel needs in my opinion some cooling holes...

Very cool new Cyborks. I vote for hoover thing for the Cyclops ork. He could use the chain sword to fling himself forward. The two face bit is awesome, and the other, less orky head fits, I think. It reminds me of a boars head to some extent. That's a Tau bit isn't it?

Primarch - Oh absolutely. There'll be a pipe from backpack to transport, it's just that I tend to leave wiring like that till after the paint (yeah, looong wait I know).

weety - As always, glad to keep you amused 'Monkeytroll - making Monday mornings better since 1971'

shaso - "Well, cybork bodies are a fine example of the strange symbiosis ork tissue seems to have with non-biological parts. Generally they compose of an organic remnant of an ork and some bionik parts which have been cobbled together by......."

Wazzdig - Cheers fella. I forsee cables in the future, lots of cables. 'My God, it's full of wires'

vik - The joint between leg and torso? Yeah, that was supposed to have a washer halfway along the joint and a few cogs on the torso side, but I forgot. I'll see what I can do after the fact though. No cooling holes for that one I'm afraid. That's an echo chamber to make da dakka louda - any holes will diminish the sound

Arakasi - Thanks man. Recently realised I needed to start messing with the basic guns a bit more, not much mass-production in da mek-halls.

neil - Good job you threw ork in there, otherwise people might think you're a furry Seen a few of the Boosh but don't recall a Victorian Villain, so can't take credit for that reference.

dstein - Thanks!
Does that mean I shouldn't be practicing on the local population first

GG - I was having trouble coming up with a good base for another hovering guy, which was part of the reason I was wavering, but I've just had a re-think, might try re-posing him to see if it'll work.
Funny you say boar head, it almost got tusks That head actually came from an eldar jetbike console

vik - Bwahahahahahahahahah!
