To me, it seems like they rather want to die then serve for him and die.

Last chancer's aren't a regiment. It's like 12 guys.
Watched Dirty Dozen on the weekend: it was ok. Those old action scenes don't stand up to today's stuff.

It's not even close anymore! Death Korps with a resounding win. Tanith are barely holding off Catachans.
Release plastic minitures for these guys GW!

(also Praetorians somehow trounced Valhallans and Tallarn combined! My god, how did that happen?)

To be fair to the Last Chancers, they start off as a regiment of thousands, then as the campaigns go along, those numbers are whittled down until you get the half-or-so dozen final survivors, for the final mission.

Freakin' come on, Schaeffer has been rebuilt 6 times! They grew him a new arm!

I guess I was thinking of that old IG codex of last chancers (or maybe it was White Dwarf) were there was 12 characters in one squad. The had guys like "Hero", "Animal" and "Shiv". Those guys were cool. Lexicanum states they has 4,000 troops in 993M41 but got whittled down to 250 guys after 2.5 years. I guess they are a legitimate regiment. Nonetheless, I prefer the Savlar anyway.

...urrrr... I dunno

Has to be the Catachans.
You know why? they get a 5+ save, the same as other guardsmen, from their muscles alone. That, gentlemen and ladies, is hardcore.

Yes, they get a 5+ save based on pure manlines but a Tanith could still sneak up behind him and hit him on the back of the head with a shovel.

Reading The Taros campaign right now. Elysians have bullpup lasguns which is pretty awesome but they don't have a rapid fire setting which is not as awesome. It's so they don't waste ammo which they know will be in short supply behind enemy lines. Comes complete with a 50 round clip that has photocells. Overall pretty badass.

Death Korps or Steel Legion for me 'cos they look the coolest.

Im surprised the cadians have been slated so badly, I really like the Cadians. I was so pleased when the new Cadians were released, cos I always liked the concept but thought the models were pants.

Catachans, definitely. Capturing a Lictor to set a trap for a tyranid swarm with its own pheromones, and bathing themselves in ichor to keep from being noticed . . . The novels are grade A bada$$ as well. And they have 3 entries in the new codex right? straken, harker, and marbo. Those guys alone make catachans worth it.

as far as looks go i'd say dkok.

I wouldn't say that. Cadia is an interesting Idea: an entire planet under arms at all times out of neccesity. I see them as a long suffering people. They have so many men killed in battle that there isn't enough land for all the tombstones.

Just like every other imperial planet...
