What if I play Dwarves!

But seriously, I hope theres some merit to having a general or a order grand master. Maybe some tactical flexibility or something

It's strange not seeing pictures up already given the WD is only being released on Saturday.

Hope all goes well with the demigryph knights, as in not another Sepulchral Stalkers syndrome of being too expensive both in cash and points and not being able to make up for it. Sold on the idea, but the models have to seal the deal.

There's no reason you can't currently take a Wizard Lord and a General of the Empire at the same time - they're cheap enough.

40k gets an entire edition update this year and they are whining about releases? You get DA and CSM this year. Fantasy needs the love! Besides, afaik there will only be 3 fantasy releases this year: VC, Empire and WoC. for 40k it's 6th ed., DA and CSM. So it's about even.

Thats not what the problem is

The problem is currently, there is NO reason tactically wise to bring a general (or grandmaster) in an army. Arch lectors bring in magic defense and a wizard lord is a lvl 3-4 wizard with one of 8 of the lores. Generals and Grandmasters can only be combat characters, poor ones at that

Also how come EVERY release topic always has someone on the other side saying "What? Game Y is getting updated? Wheres my game X update!"

Sure there is: Generals are cheaper by 45 points, and one unit of State Troops can take a magic banner. Arch Lectors are only taken if you intend to bring the War Altar, which saves another 100. Generals are value Lords, who are there for the sole purpose of getting Leadership 9. And it doesn't matter if they're not good at combat: their job isn't to kill things, it's simply to not die.

I only play 40K and still know that there are 8 schools of Empire wizards, while that kit makes 4 of them. Pretty sure there is still room for the other four schools of wizards. The Wizard kit does make good Inquisition henchmen, as a side note.

It can make: Metal, Fire, Heavens, Death/Shadow, Life, Light and arguably Beasts depending on how you model it. That is 8 by my count. You have to realize that things like the Scythe can be used for several lores.

Hm, judging by the pictures that kit makes Death, Heavens, Metal, Light, and Fire at the least. I'm not 100% sure on what shadow school mages are supposed to look like. The current kit might leave out the lore of beasts and life, which might be what the rumored wizard kits are?

Demigryphs look terrible.

--------

EDIT:

Having looked at these more, they are all pretty awful, honestly. The Griffon is ridiculous looking because it is so big with such a tiny head.

The Horses. God, WHY did they model them just like the old, crappy, existing ones? Seriously? Terrible.

The carts are also way over the top. I think that's my issue with almost all of it.
