Its a good idea with the pen. Could it also be a good idea to start off with a pen before even touching it with paint?

... and then again - its been painted by Orks, right? When the mobs prepare for waaagh do they stop and worry about how straight their lines are?

Just remember that with a micropen: make sure your surface that you're going to draw on is absolutely bone-dry. I've messed up a pen by jumping the gun.

The bases will be desert like with sharp rocks around, similar to the Kans and bike I've already done.
I intend to stay on a deep gray color for the bases, almost ash with patches of dry grass here and there.

It really is a great idea to add more plates and stuff for the 'ard boys. Your boys really look good. I never thought of it. But I have boys from both the sun and the moon (red and yellow), so its easy to track who is 'ard and not in my local friendly games. (I say 'RED ONES ARE 'ARD' and thats settled)

Getting any paint on these soon?

Of course I'm doing painting, right now the white basecoat that will turn orange as soon is dry, long way to the top if You wanna Rock!

Thought to show the last 9 Harder Boyz (missing the Nob) with added armor and ready for the primer.

Really like the one with the iron halo and the mohawk, very cool, also is one of them in the 2nd shot wearing power armour

I have now ten other 'arder boyz at this stage, doing the brown and grey clothing at the moment.
Hope I'm keeping the same standard as the previous ten

Like the hilighting on the armor, very effective!

I am doing my best and arrived to this point on ten 'arder boyz.
Miss to do all the boltgun metal, finish the skin, washes and touches to cover some errors, but I'm pleased with the result so far





Now back to work on them

Your battle damage is fantastic. Very striking, and helps offset the brightness of the orange.

I use the sponge method to dirty up a bit the armor with black paint, then I just use my detail brush with bolgun metal on the biggest patches of black and on the edges.
Almost done with the ten 'arder boyz, missing teeth, skulls and wash...
