I hope he does to, then I could use that as an excuse to give him the Heimlich and get a hug out of it.

Naw. Mat Ward wouldn't hide behind a face.

He would merely become DakkaDakka, and grace us all with his voice, smooth as a baby's velvety hands.

To try to get the thread back on topic, I would like to list some of Matt's (dreamy) accomplishments:

From Wikipedia:

- Ward attended prep school at Landon School in suburban Washington, DC, where he lettered in lacrosse, football, and basketball. He was the only lacrosse player to ever be named Washington Post All-Met Player of the Year two years in a row (2001, 2002).

- Beginning in 2006, Ward played professional outdoor lacrosse for the Major League Lacrosse team, the Washington Bayhawks after being selected in the first round of the 2006 MLL college draft. That year, Ward was named MLL Rookie of the Year.

Indeed, this fellow is a man of many talents. Would you in fact believe that he, in addition to being an athelete, also has a music career?

- He is best known as a part of the trio, 2nd Chapter of Acts in which he sang and performed with his sisters, Annie Herring and Nellie (Ward) Greisen. However, during his musical career with the 2nd Chapter of Acts from 1973 to 1988, he also recorded solo albums and continues to record and perform his solo work to the present time (2007)

Game Design is not is only field of writing, either:

- Matthew Ward was an American English/French translator noted for his 1989 rendition of Albert Camus' The Stranger.

Truly, we must consider ourselves to be in the presence of a great man here!

Did you know that Ward is also half of indy duo She & Him, along with the lovely Zooey Deschanel? (Jealous.) From their myspace page:

She & Him make music for an eternal springtime, when the temperature is warm enough to go riding with the top (or at least the windows) rolled down and the radio turned up. They occupy an alternate universe where the saddest of songs feel as warm as sun showers; the rain may be coming down, but somewhere nearby, everything looks bright. What began as a fascinating, no-strings attached collaboration on 2008’s Volume One has evolved into a bona fide, touring band, and She & Him are here to stay. Zooey Deschanel and Matt Ward are as comfortable and complementary a musical pair as Les Paul and Mary Ford; hearing them again on Volume Two feels like getting together with two old friends. This time, the harmonies have grown more angelically layered, the string arrangements more dramatic, the songwriting even sharper and more confident. But, as with Volume One, the prevailing mood is bittersweet, dreamy, and romantic.

That sounds perfect for today of all days!
