No what we need is Codex: Void Shields, a "Void Shield Companion" and a Void Shield novella (with a limited edition that costs 3x as much as a mainstream hardback release).

Don't forget the accompanying Void Shield mobile app that simulates tesla coil sounds and sights for only $10 USD ($15 AUD).

Actually, I do like the design of the Generator... I'd like it even more if it was $70 to buy, instead of 100.

I'm hoping they have rules so that every time I shoot a Quake cannon I get to place a crater centered to the blast template.

I wish I could photoshop well. I just had the mental picture of the "how to paint space marines" changed to "how to troll your customers" with the photos replaced by centurions, storm raven, storm talon, taurox and featuring the Wilfred brimley ogre doing ballon quotes on each page.

Ugh. I love how just because some folks don't like a new release, that equals trolling their fanbase. Sigh.

As an aside, Centurions, Storm Raven and Storm Talon were all panned during the 'leaked pictures' phase and then did very well afterwards. So a more accurate question would be 'Are the picture leakers trolling us?'.

Just checking, since I don't frequent WMH or Bolt Action threads, but is it considered appropriate for me to pop in there and post 'These new Khador releases are really getting me excited about buying 40k.'? If so, I may have a new hobby.

I was pretty worried about the craters and how they might look until I saw that they are covered in skulls and dead Cadians and visually only fit in amongst urban tables.

Phew. Everything appears to be status quo in GW-land.

Yes it is appropriate to criticize the void generator in the void generator thread

Void Shield Generator
Limited edition - 1000 copies numbered in fancy box
Made of 10 hard resin pieces, and extremely detailed. Its a square structure with a platform on which emerges 4 towers with the void shield generator in the center of them. The structure looks as tall and wide as a bastion.
Its listed at $100

Quake Cannon Craters
These are plastic, and come with 4 craters. Each of the craters come in two halves, so that they can be pulled apart and used as a rough battlefield barricade using battlefield debris as a wall. There is a lot of detail and wreckage on these, and being able to use them as a barricade of sorts makes them nice.
Listed at $37

On this weeks WD:
reader on faeit212 wrote:there is no mention of the new IG anywhere. Cover is the generator, there's about 15 pages devoted to Lord of the Rings, a quick Nids vs Imperial Knights battle report (Looks like Nids get hammered, 1 knight wipes out half of the Nid list) and the aforementioned how to deal with knights discussion with the developers.

BTW current WD also uses 2 pages to describe how awesome an old Gandalf miniature is.[/spoiler]

Yay, more releases that no one demanded, no one really wants, that are way too expensive anyway. Who makes these kinds of decisions at GW?

Also GW throws logic out the window and makes a limited edition...building... a single model makes sense but a whole building?

BASELESS CONSPIRACY TIME:

Nobody actually seemed to predict this release in the months leading up to this which is strange to say the least.

What if IG were planned to be the week that the void generator is but they decided to throw off rumor trackers by shoving some rejected building designs down our throats.

It makes sense under GW logic

Has to be tomorrow (well, later today ~1800 GMT) as we know the Guard stuff goes up next week.

So, something in the region of 16 hours from time of posting.

I think that's going to depend on your definition of 'very well'...

Ive seen a grand total of one unit of Centurions on the table, and while the Storm Raven and Storm Talon are more widely used, they're also still widely reviled for their appearance.

I bought a box of centurions and I'm still a bit disgusted with myself. I may have warmed to the models a little due to the aesthetic changes I was able to make during the construction process but if I'm honest I bought them for one reason only: their rules. They're stupid good with grav cannons.
