Maybe I'd take this seriously if he had made ANY attempt to defend himself or participate more in the game.

However, if he continues to spout unintelligable posts like the one above, I can see only one option.

Joking aside, it's not always the quiet ones. I wouldn't put it past the anti-town to try to lead the crowd. Not like it hasn't happened before, right?
If this is going on, we'll be able to see evidence of it in the next few day phases. In the first phase, it is harder to produce reasonable sounding evidence against townies or scum, and we're odds on for lynching a loyalist anyway.

True, but it's always left until a later day phase and always ends up just a bit too late. We probably can't figure it out this day phase, but should as soon as we can.

Edit: Added in quote as post ended up on the next page.

Dave, seriously. I can't win with "Intelligent posts" or defending myself. I've tried before... each time I keep getting told I'm speaking in tongues. Perhaps its the frequent use of metaphor or colloquialism, I don't know.

We are two days from lynch, and I worry that we wil be getting a no lynch vote. I urge everyone to use their votes, and also to vote for someone who could potentially actually be lynched. Right now that looks like either Arctik Firangi, Orkeo or Ferret.

In the past when two players start to argue extensively, one of them has tended to be scum. Right now Dave and A_F are at each other. Just something to keep in mind. Personally, I also would like to know what this info on Orkeo is all about. Dave has a good point there.

That's an interesting comment, Manchu. What was Dave's good point? How does a request for information followed by an answer constitute an extensive argument?

I don't think so. I certainately haven't been under the impression that we've been arguing. I would still like to hear why you suspected Orkeo so much, if only for interests sake.

I'm not sure, to tell you the truth. He was the first to take initiative in my eyes, and I trust him in the same way I trusted IGLannister in the other game (who it turns out was a cultists, but... I mean I can't simply tell my gut to screw itself), and anyway, I'm a simple person, and it's not hard to fool me. The illusion of scum-hunting looks like scum-hunting to me, and so I trust him.

Manchu wrote:I'm willing to build consensus here. I've been throwing votes around like Thor would if he was playing, seeing what sticks and what doesn't. Both people I voted for haven't even bothered to react. Why is that?
If you're talking about me, the problem is I really don't have anything to react to. You said that you don't have a real basis for your accusation, which doesn't leave me with anything to contest. This is also the problem with just declaring that you're going to roll a dice/flip a coin and base your votes off of that; it doesn't necessitate any sort of reaction, you can't argue with chance.

At this point, we know we gotta kill somebody. We have nothing solid to base it on, suspicion-wise. So why not approach it from a different perspective: which player is contributing the least amount of helpful information? which player is not trying to solve the puzzle at all? i.e., which player's death loses the Wolves the least?
The problem with this idea is that it leaves us in a sort of paradox; if there aren't any real leads, how can anyone be more or less helpful than anyone else? Here are my thoughts on it:

1. The sorcerers are primarily looking for the lynch of a wolf on day 1. They would prefer a no-lynch to the lynch of one of them, however.
2. The wolves are just looking to avoid a no-lynch (and to avoid their own deaths, of course), unless there is some character we don't know about that's a little more knowledgeable.

This means that the sorcerers will actually be pro-lynch more often than they will be anti-lynch, because a wolf is more likely to be the target of a random lynching than a sorcerer is. It's something to keep in mind. However, because the lynching of a sorcerer is much better for the wolves than the lynching of a wolf is for the sorcerers, the sorcerers benefit more from a no-lynch than a truly random lynch. Which puts the us in kind of a clutch.

Fifty wrote:We are two days from lynch, and I worry that we wil be getting a no lynch vote. I urge everyone to use their votes, and also to vote for someone who could potentially actually be lynched. Right now that looks like either Arctik Firangi, Orkeo or Ferret.
Honestly, I don't think Ferrett is a sorcerer, but that's mostly a hunch. I won't vote for myself (obviously) and I find it unlikely (but far from impossible) that Arctik would be as aggressive as he is if he wasn't a wolf (plus it's more fun to play when people are more talkative).

I think I will refrain from voting for now. I will vote tomorrow, however, since I think that we do need some sort of lynch.

I don't for sure, but sorcerers would logically be the trickiest. I can't see why Magnus would send, say, techmarines, or devastators.

According to Thor, this games was supposed to be simulating the ebb and flow of an epic battle rather than a bunch of people standing around in a room. This hasn't really played out in our roleplaying or otherwise, but the matter of who 'Magnus would send' is an interesting one.

I had ruled you out, for the time being, partially because I figured that the Space Wolves were specifically told that they were Space Wolves. I know this, because I am a Space... Wolves. Admittedly, I've only recently referred to Thor's original signup thread and seen that we were also explicitly informed of this in the main rules: "Space Wolves vs. Thousand Sons" in so many words.

Saying 'sorcerer' seems like too obvious a mistake, but on the other hand it is what the 1Ksons essentially were. Their leaders, at least. I'm not convinced at all that this is suspicious, since we don't have a clue as to what the enemy roles are... but since Thor mentioned that there were more town power roles then there are 1Ksons overall, it would make sense that all of the 1ksons have special rules.

In fluff terms, because my memory is terrible, can anyone jog me as to whether or not the Rubric is in effect at the time of the conflict on Prospero? If everyone has special rules... then it would make perfect sense that all of the enemy are sorcerers.

Orkeo, your statement that you don't wish to vote intrigues me... do you literally mean 'tomorrow' in real life, or the following game phase? It would be all to easy for scum to say 'I'll vote at the end', and then conveniently be unable to vote due to 'RL matters'.

Where the hell is that Paul Atreides guy? He hasn't posted in about a week, and hasn't voted either.

Edit: accidentally referred to Orkeo as Thor

Prodded him at my last post count. If he doesn't respond to me via PM or in thread within 24 hours I'll start looking for a replacement (probably ought to be easy since there's 1-2 people who didn't quite make the cut to join the game). Once I get an affirmative from a replacement Paul would be replaced.

My hope is he just shows up and starts posting though, it's less work for me.

The Rubric isn't in effect yet; it was cast by Ahriman after the Thousand Sons were pulled into the warp, and started mutating horrifically.

Honestly, I just never thought of the non-sorcerer Thousand Sons as being very important. Being a bunch sorcerers is their gimmick. The non-sorcerers are just sort of book-alphabetizing filler. I had never considered that we could be up against TSs who weren't actually sorcerers.

Orkeo, your statement that you don't wish to vote intrigues me... do you literally mean 'tomorrow' in real life, or the following game phase?
Tomorrow in real life, probably early on.

Apart from a beautiful, and may I say what a SPLENDID bandwagon you guys have formed (very subtle - 4 votes in a 24 hr period.... manufique.), what am I to defend against? Or is it more that you crave a retalitory vote, something you can hold against me when the time is next right for you all to vote Ferrett....

I do however warn you that lynching me will have unforseen consequences. But good job to you all if you feel I'm guilty.

I'm sorry, I just haven't had anything interesting to say, But I assure you that I read the updates of this thread almost every day.

There is very little time left now, but for what it's worth, I'll agree with the ones who vote ferrett, who beside me, probably has contributed the least. Vote: the_ferrett

And if that succeeds, I'll be the one contributing least.
