OH, and I've been looking into my termies. Thinking of using this guys suggestion for making them.

Standard Assault termi box, but you cut the shields in half to form the shoulders. Not bad. Also, just props to this cause it's a SEXY mini.

OH, and I've been thinking about bases. So far, I'm thinking either a desert theme base, an urban theme, a techno-style base, or making some custom 'circuit' bases kinda like this:

The final base would probably be dank, dirtier, partially covered and the lighting would be an inconsistent bright green, thinking of tying it in to the eye color green. Thoughts?

If these guys are cyborgs and are stepping on open currents of electricity wouldnt they like shock these guys or give them more energy?
Modelling wise you could maybe sculpt electicity? dont know how you could do it but itd pay off

Alrighty, so I just realized that I may be able to start assembling units tomorrow!!! SWEETNESS!!!

However, haha, I don't have an army list assembled. Looking for help building a chaos marine list running Nurgle units.

For those who don't know, this is the list of available models:

35 x Marines
50 x Bolters w/ CC attachments
2 x LR Achilles (will make them work for standard LR's as well)
2 - 3 x Dreads
No Termies as of yet, but will get some eventually.

ANY suggestions would be welcomed. Thanks!

Decided to step away from the original base concept, however I will eventually make a game board based off their Forgeworld.

And the current traveling through integrated circuitry in the planets surface, so it's not ACTUALLY exposed. it would be in some places due to damage and age, but beyond that they would be insulated. Also, the mongers armor have been developed and advanced to the point where severe electrical shock is redirected into the armor's internal/external power supply.

But if, say, they were to be exposed to the direct feed from the planets reactors, they would pretty much fry their internal biological parts like fat in a skillet in seconds.

Yup. Not invincible, just damn tough.

Here are the bases primed.

Realized after this step that they would have looked a little better with random dirt on them, like the two that I really like have.

Lol yeah, that termi bout turned this force into a pre-heresy Thousand Suns. But, there's currently 3 threads I'm following doing the same thing, so I'd rather stick with the original idea.

Thanks for the compliments on the thread too! I try to keep it up with the GK thread, been kinda hard since I'd been struggling with the iconography. Now that that's figured out, it's smooth sailing from here on out..... after I figure out a list of units to run..... haha....

Thanks! I was skeptical at first, but honestly I think they turned out great so far. Right now debating about how to paint them. Can't decide between nice, lighter color and possibly some random patches of grass. Or dark, craggy style desolation.

Suggestion?

Well, the mold was a ridiculous failure.

Turned out so bad not gonna even post a pic. And unfortunately I used so much of the material that there's not enough to try to make another.

Looks like I have to wait till payday to try again.

Currently assembling the first 4 Mongers as we speak! Also, NETFLIX RULES!

Well, finishing up the cleaning of my work room/room. Once that's done, gonna get some more of the Mongers assembled and stuck to their bases. Can't wait to get a decent chunk of them done. THEN THE PAINTING BEGINS!!!

Well, it's been a good ride, but like all good things the WIP Weekend must come to an end.

Got a lot of work done, and several units assembled. No painting as of yet, but still, just having units is a HUGE improvement.

Here is a picture of what's done so far as well as a close up of each fully assembled unit.

Addon's to come (nades, etc), but for the most part each one is fully assembled. Comments requested!

This is what happens when I don't check in on a thread for a couple of days. Really nice work on the assembled models, gotta agree with Knighley the armless one looks really good.

You manage to achieve a lot of character using the basic pieces and very simple yet very effective conversions, a process which I try to use myself whenever I am assemlbing new models.

@ Matrim - Thanks bud! The MK III heads will be interspersed throughout the army. They're just too damn valuable to leave lying around haha.... unless someone needs some and makes me a kind offer haha.

@ Asylum_Inmate - Thanks bud, I appreciate it. And I agree, the armless one is probably my favorite.

And to the second portion of your post, the trick that I'm using with this army is small amounts of greenstuff placed between the army and the torso. This allows a bit more range of motion with the default arms, so more poses that are just a little different each time. THAT, and as you saw with the one pointing and the armless one, cutting the arms apart at or around the joints and using greenstuff to simulate that flexible portion of the armor to make more poses possible.

So I'm going to get the rest of the marines I'm working on to the same point as those posted. Then I'm takin the night off.

Tomorrow we'll see some GK action on my other blog (SEE SIGNATURE), as we'll have more dread stuff arriving haha.

Thanks! First real attempt at a custom base. And I have to say, though this method is super simple, and super easy, you're very right they come out great! Practically have to force yourself to screw them up haha.

I highly suggest anyone wanting to make quick, sexy lookin bases to use this method. Also, it leaves so much room for added flair. Skulls, grass patches, spent shell casings, bones, dead corpses, blood pools and bloodflows, you can do a LOT with very little time and minimum effort.

Just got a package in, totally forgot about it haha.

Sweet Steampunk weapons via MaxMini, and sweet apocalypse blades ala Kromleck...kromlech.... whichever haha.

The blades are what are amazing. SO MUCH BETTER THAN WHAT I THOUGHT THEY'D BE!!

The longest ones are the best, and those will probably only go on Darrius Elk. Got a couple potential poses for him in mind.

The other blades are so damn long that they have to go with termies, which i'm not complaining haha. The shorter ones will be fine for the standard marines. Still aweful big, but they're Iron Mongers.... and the monger part requests massive weapons!
