Quick update - Got my Space Hulk Libby in today. Looks REALLY sweet. Can't wait to start modding it.
And got my car back, turns out it was just a stupid overlook my dad and I made when we were changing out the oil filter - didn't realize the old gasket didn't come off with it so it just wasn't sealing completely and therefore leaking oil.
I've resolved myself to the fact that there's most likely going to be little painting to be done this week because the overtime is taking away a significant amount of free time each evening. BUT FEAR NOT!!! I am still working diligently on the army, and you are in for one helluva update once things settle back down this weekend.
Unless I go to the LFGS and attempt to splatter some orks with my Knights.
Lol yeah, this summer's a good one, but it's not lending itself to as much army work as I'd originally planned. But that's life I suppose.
So, as per usual, things did NOT go according to plan this weekend. I did not end up getting any painting done.
However, I did get my Space Hulk Libby cleaned up and converted (Pictures to follow). Also completed the following:
1 x Multimelta Servitor
1 x Techmarine w/ Servo Harness (will add a few bits then it's done)
The bulk of the weekend, however, was spent playing two games between the hours of 11pm and 5 am both Friday and Saturday night.
Both games were against my best friend (who is new to the game) and these were his 4 and 5th games. He was running White Scars.
I did not have a camera on hand. Just need to buy a new one. However, I will do my best to give you an idea of how things went.
Results:
Game 1 - 1500 pts
My List:
1 x Ordo Maellus Inquisitor - 2 x servo skulls
3 x servitors (2 x multimelta, 1 x plasma cannon)
1 x Razorback - HB w/ psybolt ammo
2 x 10 man Strike Squad's - 2 x Psycannons, 8 x Halberds, Psybolt - 1 x Rhino w/ Hunter Killer
1 x 10 man Terminator squad - 2 x Daemonhammers, psybolt
2 x Dreadnoughts (2 x ML, 1 x LC, 1 x MM)
Game was capture and control, deployed along long table edges
Game ended w/ one point held by my combat squaded termies (3 left), and my inquisitor and remnants of one strike squad contesting another, while my two dreads sat on the 3rd and 2nd levels of a ruin the entire game wailing on his initially controlled point and devastator squad.
Did not move ANYTHING between placement and turn 3. Not sure what that says, but I was able to keep him down by blasting his rhino early (also he only had one rhino for his 3 tac squads). He split his bikers, but I was able to smoke them out early with the psycannons. He had Speeders, but They also went down quick because of Combat squading. Both of us kept termies in reserve (he only has 5 but used them all), mine deepstruck onto the objective in the center of the table combat squaded, and one ran off to take on his vets while the other shot at the rhino, killing it on turn 2.
Best memory of the game was watching his termies (3 remaining) run to within an inch of the board, only to turn around and continue the fight.
Great game, got me pumped for GK's, and gave me a taste of what they could do. Made some errors, and planned accordingly the next game.
Game 2 - 1250 pts
HQ - 1 x Ordo maellus Inquisitor - 3 x servo skulls
2 x MM servitors
1 x Razorback - HB w/ psybolt
2 x 10 man strike squads (8 x halberds, 2 x psycannons, psybolt) - just realized I messed up, because i built the list w/o the justicar having a halberd, so just one more thing we f'd up on.
2 x Rhino's - HK 1 x 5 man Terminator squad (5 x halberds, psybolt)
2 x Dreads (2 x TLAC w/ psybolt, 1 x ML, 1 x Plasma Cannon)
Was sieze ground, deployed in opposite corners, I placed my objective on 3rd floor of building, had TLAC dread standing guard on 3rd floor (also gave him range over ruins in middle of board)
Placed other dread on edge of deployment zone behind ruin, flanked by a rhino. other rhino and Razorback deployed behind ruin and other cover.
Similar to other game, but he cut out some fat. Was surprised I was able to keep the list so similar. Did miss the termies though.
Game ran similar to the first. I kept him back thanks to dread's, psycannons, and the 2 x servitor MM's, all of which were huddled around the ruin in the center of the map which was providing them cover. Deep struck my termies in quadrant beside his, and ran them towards his objective. They did not make it, though the last termi made it within fair range to move and assault his commander on my next turn. Also, he made a save on a perils of the warp test, which was crazy.
He deepstruck 2 x speeders behind the dread and the rhino, melting the dread. SS psycannon's wailed on his TB bikes while the AC dread wiped his speeders out, then he dropped in his 5 x termies to flank all my units except the AC dread in the building.
Game ended in him winning a valiant fight by rolling over a 1 to run part of a squad into control range of his control point. His other units tied up my GK's so they couldn't get into my ruin and to the 2nd floor. He realize last turn his commander couldn't score, lol, as I had realized just before he did... was hoping for a sadistic draw haha.
Well, what I learned from this weekend:
1) finally understand WHY the psyfleman dread IS good (psybolt makes ACstr 8, double the standard Toughness of 4, meaning instant wound/death) Even wipes termies fairly well inspite of the Inval save.
2) GK termies are WONDERFUL with Halberds.... so long as they opponent doesn't SAVE from them haha.
3) Psychic test are not that bad. Only faced perils of the warp twice in last game, and saved from it once, both in the 5 man termie squad
4) SS's can deepstrike, though it didn't really occur to me until after the fact. But I still wouldn't have done it.
5) Playing is SO MUCH BETTER than building. I enjoy both, but DAMN I'm glad I was able to get some games in.
6) I need to get my army painted, becuase playing on bases that units aren't glued to can be a considerable pain.
7) That 24''effective range is not terribly tough to work around, the key is to play smart (don't give up stupid points, always face strongest armor sides of transports to opponents, etc)
SO, the plan is this week to get SOME work done on the strike squad (PLEASE DEAR GOD ANYTHING!!!), get the rest of the army primed, and prepped for painting, get the SH Libby pinned, same with the TechMarine and Servitor.
Also, want to figure out a potential list (for fun) running 2 x techmarines w/ orbital strike relay's in a 1500 pt game. Just for fun.
Update - Working on base for the Libby, found something a little different that shows him off. Debating about cutting out his face to put in the Justicar Helm still..... Will wait for decisions until the camera gets in and I get pics uploaded.
Planning on priming the army tomorrow, getting everything left finished.
So, here's the deal. I have NO idea how to paint them haha. I want some opinions.
The libby, I don't know if I should go with the traditional Blue style, go with a standard GK paint scheme like they show on GW official site, or do a basecoat like the scheme I've been using and just heavily wash it with asurmen blue.
As for the Inquisitor, the waist sash and the hood will be dictated by the color scheme. I want to stay away from black, but I'm not opposed to it. I've been looking around and there's TONS of gold, green, and red inquisitors. But I was leaning towards a lighter blue for the armor.
I don't know, probably a Black armor with white and gold for the detailing would be pretty kool.
Thoughts?
Also, CAMERA SHIPPED TODAY!!! SHOULD BE HERE TOMORROW!!! PREPARE FOR PICS!!!!
I've always liked a hybrid color approach to librarians. Maybe a standard silver with blue shoulder pads or something. For the inquisitor, I would try for colors that would offset those of the rank and file grey knights. Black and white sound good together, but the gold and white may clash a little, both of them being light colors

True, but the white would be darkened and dirtier than the standard white. Similar to the latest pic of my purifier 'Janua.'
And as far as the hybrid scheme, I had not thought about that. Now, I'm not a big fan of the idea of blue shoulders on a grey body, but there are a LOT of options. the one that strikes me immediately is to do a darker than normal blue, or two tone blue, with a darker one underlaid on the shoulder beneath the shoulderpad, and a lighter one as the detail work on other portions of the model.
I kinda like that one. Thanks for bringing up the shoulders! You'll know what I mean once you see the libby. CAN'T WAIT FOR MY CAMERA!!!
So I feel now is as good a time as any for a recap. So here goes:

Well, this weekend didn't pan out as planned. But it did turn out really well. While I did not get any painting done, in preparation for hitting up the FLGS on Sudany, I spent Saturday evening into the wee hours of the morn completing several models and cleaning up some mistakes.
Because of it, I got my third rhino assembled, fancied up and primed. Also started to clean Crowe and Draigo, though just minimal progress there. The biggest benefit from this weekend was Sunday when I met up with Skipphag da Devoura at the FLGS. He was stoppin through and though we didn't get enough time to play a game, we talked shop for a couple hours and had a grand time.
He gave me the heads up on the sweet Large cases you'll see below. BUY THEM!!! Nough said haha.
Also, here are some pics of his Megadreads and deffdreads, though i'm not sure if those are the correct names for the units or if they're all just one model type.... I don't know orks well yet haha.
This weekend made me remember why I love playing 40k. It's not the game, it's not the models, it's not the painting. It all plays a role, but it's really just one thing: I love the people.
No other game have I had so much fun just talkin shop and tradin stories with other gamers. It's people like Skipphag da Devoura that make me love playing the game, and make me want to push myself to become an even bigger challenge.
So expect new updates for Titan's Legion coming soon. I'M BACK BABY!
Because I've been waiting to put up some more painted work, ENJOY!
For Clarification, they're not QUITE done yes, as made apparent from their missing heads and unpainted weapons. Thinking I MAY be able to set aside an hour or two tomorrow night and finish the boys up.
That video meme is effin great! I'll still be doing my GK's when every one goes over to Necrons haha

Just got two sets of TLAC's assembled and magnetized, addons to follow. Here are some pics for reference. I tried them on the Ven Dread, but just didn't like how they looked. I'll play it as a standard dread with TLAC's when necessary, but for the most part I don't feel they compliment my Ven Dread aesthetic. Hope you like the result!
Please comment!
Also, here's the run down. Have a game Sunday, anywhere from 1500 to 2000 pts. SO, I have a LOT of work to do this week.
On the list...
1) Finalize Army List(s) - 1500, 2000, and 2500 pts if I have enough units assembled for it.
2) Assemble Dread 3 (and 3rd set of TLAC's)
3) Get next 5 termies assembled
4) Get 2nd Landraider Assembled (If I can't get it done, I have a SWLR I can run as backup if necessary)
5) Get 2nd Stormraven assembled (Again, if I have the time)
6) Finish painting Kael and unamed GK entirely, including NFW as well as Janua's NFW - These are the top priority because I'd like to have some fully completed units. Any suggestions on how to do the NFW's would be GREAT! I've been looking around, but nothing jumps out at me.
So yeah, HUGE list of stuff to get done, especially considering the limited time frame. Hope to have a LOT to show for it though, and hope that Sunday will be an epic game day.
Dread 3 is assembled, and right now I'm a bit too lazy to post pics haha.
Plan is to get some more bits from a bud this Sunday so that I can get it tricked out and primed. Not much else going on. Decided against assembling a new LR, and instead will be re purposing the SWLRC with the GKFW bits.
That's bout it for now! sorry for the lack of updates, overtime's a
Well, had a good day. Didn't get a game in. I know, I know.....
But I did get Dread #3 assembled, primed, and and based along with his TLAC. Got Dread #1's TLAC's addons on and primed. Dread #2's are a bit more difficult, so more on that later.
Also bought another box of PAGK's, so getting close to having my OSR List ready.
Picked up 2 new Walmart Pistol Cases - 1 for Storm Raven #2, 1 for Iron Mongers.
BTW, check out the Iron Mongers blog tomorrow if you want to see pics of an assembled Land Raider Achilles!
Pics will be up tomorrow because I'm not feelin too hot right now.
No pics of Dread 2 as the TLAC's for him are still unmodified. Have to have the addons to make it worth anything haha!
And, on a personal note, I know a lot of people rag on the Aegis Defense Line's Quad cannon whatever when people use it to make TLAC's. I respect your opinions my wargammer breathren, but my personal opinion is that the standard FW options are just too weak looking for my taste. Even those that take the Lascannon arm/Missile Launcher arm and mod the Aegis defense cannon's and ammo onto them, just still don't look right to me.
I like the quad cannons. They are big, well designed, easy to mod onto the dreads, and just look like they are a platform weapon. I can actually see dread's using these, striding across the battlefield and mowing down all manner of opposition and terrain. FW and other options (THAT I HAVE SEEN THUS FAR) just pale in comparison IMO.
Lemme know what you think! They were quick addons, but meh, wanted them to be simple. Dread #2's will be very nice and very detailed haha.
Well, FINALLY got something to show on here. Didn't realize how much I missed the Knights.
So, got the Libby and Inquistor Lord Luscius Forgran basecoated. Used the same method as on my Iron Mongers to achieve a unique look and feel to the armor. I feel it turned out great, and with a little TLC with the details, they will each standout well in the army.

Thanks, I was skeptical at first, but I think it turned out well. NOW the only issue is trying to decide whether to use plain metallic color for the detailing (boltgun, chainmail, mythril silver) or whether to use gold.
I've been debating both, but nor really having much luck. I know the deathwatch shoulder will get a second coat of boltgun and a wash or two of black to get it the right shade, but the dread pad shoulder is perplexing. Part of me wants to paint it metallic in the middle, and edge it with gold. But another part wants to leave it that 'jade' color, and edge it with either gold or metal.
Lol and another trouble is deciding the color for the hood and the robe skirt. I think white would be a good standby, but a bit to bland for an inquisitor. A khakki or brown would compliment the green well, but it would have to be just right to also go with the metal or gold trim.
Red doesn't do it for me, and would look too christmasy to me. Black is out too, as it's just blah.
Really, at this point suggestions are needed horribly bad haha.
Hey bud, really enjoyed catching up with this. I know exactly what you mean about how good it feels to actually play, and you raise a couple of interesting points - I'd totally forgotten about Psyfleman's doing instakill, for example. Good batreps, and love where the models are going, off to add some dread plates to my =][= now!

Glad to have you back haha. Things are (hopefully) going to continue on this path of productivity, both with the legion and the mongers.
Attempting a trade to get another 10 GK's and a Vindicare. Currently still needing assembled are....
10 x PAGK's
5 x GK Termies
1 x Dreadknight
1 x Rhino/Razorback
1 x Storm Raven
1 x LRCR
Not sure when it will be, but plan is to get the rest of the initial squad painted (though that's been proving a challenge - gotta love life) and then reward myself with a few termies. Then wash, rinse, repeat to get through the rest of the force.
Trying to create a fun, playable list though right now seems to be the biggest problem. I have a competitive list, but I'm wanting to make something that is more fluff oriented, just running the stuff that makes GK's fun to play.
Idea so far is to have:
Grand Master Modrak & his Ghost Knights
Librarian
Termies
Purifiers/Interceptors
1-2 x Dreadknights
Also have another list that is almost complete that focuses on ORS running:
Karmazarov
2 x Techmarines w/ OSR
2 x Interceptors
2 x SS 3 x Psyfleman Dreads
Both are pretty heavy in the WIP area, but I really want to run a list that uses all my stuff, or atleast has more variety than most of the competitive lists that I see have.

Have you though about blue? blue and green go well together, whilst i would agree that white and khaki would look good he might end up looking too much like a Dark Angel, which would mean he might lose some of that visual impact

Hadn't really thought about blue per se. I have trouble thinking of a blue that wouldn't overpower the green or get overpowered by it.... suggestions? Lol this is one of those times where some skills with photoshop would be a big benefit haha.
