So I lied, decided to put up some WIP shots just to get back into good habits haha.

Got these three Paladins gold trim on today, tomorrow hopefully will finish them up. Have 5 more basecoated/ OSL highlighted, just waiting for the trim treatment haha.

Three day turnaround from basecoated to finished would be a very helpful trend to keep up haha.

Not super happy with how their names came out, but they're good enough for what I'm lookin for.

Sweet man, are your guys magnetized? or are you modeling how I do it (in pieces then glue together)

@ Knightley - They are magnetized in the weapons hand, or in the case of psycannons their wrists are magnetized.

I have this tendency to over magnetize, so I tried to make sure that I did these guys in the most logical and cost-effective manner haha.

No progress made today, too the day off as I just wasn't feeling it haha.

DID go pick up some more paint however, so that's a plus. Plannin on hitting the minor details tomorrow, and possibly trying out gradients of the forceweapons.

Well, takin a break from the Paladins tonight, put together this conversion for a Death Cult Assassin.

Parts used were:

1 x DE Scourge Torso (scourge i think is the right one)
1 x Eldar Legs
2 x DE Arms (not sure on the sword)
2 x Forgeworld Bolter Bayonets
1 x GK Daemon Head bit
2 x SM Combat Blades.

Wow, that's... mental. I love it!

@ inmygravenimage - Glad you like it! The idea was originally to make an ordo xenos inquisitor, but it morphed into an attractive, affordable method to make a bunch of DCA's.

I plan on ordering enough bits to make a total of 20. That should keep me busy for a bit, but that will happen after the paladins are done!

It's a very cool idea, and seeing your parts list helps enormously. I'm with you on the having a vast horde of them: it's the way forward (especially via Chimera).

@ inmygravenimage - Actually, I was thinking more along the lines of via Land Raider Redeemer, with the assistance of a Xenos Inquisitor w/ Combi-melta, forceweapon, might of titan, rad & psychotrope grenades haha. Multimelta on top the raider and you got yourself a solid whirling death machine of righteous fire and cleansing lol

Yeah that's pretty darn tasty wife got me one for Xmas there so I'll be firing up that bad boy soon enough. Incidentally, fairly sure I have a spare set of fw gk lr (acronym alert!) doors if you're interested.

Looking good man, are you planning on doing anything more with the gold parts? it looks a slight bit flat (no shadows or highlights)

Warhammer 40k is my hobby. It is my passion. It has pushed out all my other hobbies: computers, gaming, reading. It's what I love to do. And finally, I had to ask myself why.

Don't get me wrong. I am still passionate about all the things that are important to me, but 40k does something that few other things can.


Once a week, me and anywhere from 3-9 or 10 guys get together. We play, assemble, paint (need to do more of this haha), talk shop, talk trash, and just enjoy ourselves. It's what my week is all about.

I love my friends, love the camaraderie, but most of all I love that I can share something with others that I put a piece of myself into, and see how much of themselves they too have put into it.


Right now is a rough time for me. Between excessive course-loads, the eternal search for Mrs. Right, and the responsibilities of my job, it seems like I'm rarely in the mood to game/paint/do anything productive.


And for those of you keeping up on my progress... you know what kind of progress has been made: practically none. Just off the top of my head, I believe I have a total of 3, count them

THREE

completely finished models. An inquisitor, a Terminator, and a Land Raider Redeemer.

I have over 100 models (not including vehicles mind you) left to paint, assemble, base, an infinitely more combinations of the three. It's daunting. But that's JUST for my knights.


Some times are better than others, and the fact is that nothing seems to motivate me right now. Hell, I just got all the parts in to build my 20 Death Cult Assassins, and I haven't even gotten halfway through with the painting on my Paladins.
I know I'm really just ranting, blowing off steam, and that's what I need right now. But what about in the future? How am I going to deal with this in the coming weeks, months, even years?


So here's the plan. This is what I'm going to do, and this is how I'm going to do it. No ifs, ands, or buts. And here is my plea to you, my fellow gamers, my fellow hobby lovers:

KEEP ME HONEST.

The Goal:
I want to get this army done this year. This is my new years resolution: TITAN'S LEGION WILL BE COMPLETED BY Dec 31, 2012

The Plan
-To break the work down into manageable, diverse portions models.
- To refrain from spending ANY MONEY on models, bits, etc. unless ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY.
- To play a BARE MINIMUM of 4 games PER MONTH, at any point level.
- To take and upload pictures of all activity related to the hobby.
- To make a weekly update post combining all important changes in the past 7 days.
- To spend at least 1 hour a day working on 40k (lists, painting, scraping, etc.)

and most importantly of all...

- To not get bogged down in the details, and to just have fun and continue making the game fun for others.


I love DakkaDakka. You guys have helped me strive to improve my abilities and have served as an unparalleled wellspring of knowledge and inspiration. So I thank you.

Here's to the hobby. I hope you all raise a glass and toast to the good times, the bad times, and all the times this hobby has made you happy.

UPDATE - Got 5 paladins I've been working on almost done. Just missing shoulder crests, back dealies and power weapons (couple psycannons are almost done).

Got more Dragonforge Bases in today. And my mold making kit came in too, so here's to trying something crazy.

Going to get these Paladin's done, then possibly do Draigo or a Librarian to change things up a bit, then 6 more Paladins.

Nice progress. Liking the blue tones on the metal mate. My update shall be going up tomorrow (so much WIP - Hydra, Carnosaur, 21 Skinks, 2 Skink Priests, Oldblood for Carnosaur and on foot, 5 SoBs and 2 Kroxigor. LOL.)

Progress this week:

Landraider assembled
2nd Death Cult Assassin assembled

Played a broken alliance game and helped facilitate an annihilation game between two new players. Won my game, beating Daemons and Space Wolves. Then Daemons won a much deserved victory against Wolves in game two.

Let me know what you think of the 2nd assassin. I hope to keep pumpin them out shortly.

I love, but the height on the head looks slightly... off. Maybe run a couple of cables from under the jaw either side, to the back, perhaps? Cool pose though.

@ inmygravenimage - yeah, the head does look a tad off, but it's not too terrible in person. I'm going to wait till it's primed to see how it looks with all the black before I make any hasty decisions. After all, there are going to be 20 of the buggers on the board haha.

Oh, what do you think of the weapons? Wasn't sure how the combat blade turned out.

Like them a lot - the right hand is particularly cool.
