Given the whole secrecy attitude GW currently has going on I find it very hard to believe that a member of the design (sculpting?) team would just flap out a "confirmation" like this.

Last we heard, and that wasn't that long ago, they were still having trouble sculpting, and now suddenly they are supposedly so far along that an actual release for this year could be guaranteed (by a sculptor). Very unlikely.

However, I never like to say never when it comes to these things, so If we get 3 releases this year then maybe, but more than likely his words were misinterpreted, or he was just talking out of his bunghole altogether to get some kids excited.

Well going how GW deals with the Net sometimes, maybe they think no one under the age of 18 comes to these sites.

Thought they where giving a little treat to some School folks, and thought it'd never reappear here online.

Hopefully I'm wrong guys but this feels like a great April fool. Its too close to the 1st of april for us not to consider it?

Secrecy? We knew up to the point of Dark Eldar and Grey Knights this time last year, I even predicted pretty much to the month when both would be released based off of the info we had. We have a decent idea what's coming next too.

As far as all the dorks who say "PDF", no. If any army deserved to have a PDF codex it would have been Space Wolves and Blood Angels, but they still got full books. I think GW is staying away from PDF codices.

I agree that the PDF prediction is way off-base here. Not even sure where this vibe is coming from, if not simply internet hate/misguided cynicism.

Yes, the once Poster boys (BA) of WH40K should have got a .pdf instead of a full book.

Oh wait, they did.

Not in fifth edition.

Blood Angels are nothing more than a sub-army of Space Marines, and yet they still got a full codex. Sisters are a full on unique army, something that Blood Angels will never be able to claim.

IN ANY CASE, they will very likely get their own book. I'd like to know if there is any source to this PDFery.

Why not use GW's official name "Wartorn Skies" when debunking that rumour?

Anyway: Stickmonkey's monthly rumour post:
I'm posting this in news and rumors only as it's relevant to upcoming releases. I received word yesterday my "blackout" clause of my NDA for 3 upcoming codex armies would go in to effect April 1. (ha, that's what I thought too.)

Those three armies are Tau, Necron, and SoB.

Now the earliest they've ever enacted this on me before has been 6 months out. And the shortest duration has been 2 months out. I have no info telling me A. What order any of these codexes will be released. B. That they will be consistent with that duration. Just thought it may serve as additional evidence for what's on the horizon.

BramGaunt wrote:
Sarevok wrote:hopefully Necrons first, then Sisters then Tau last

According to what I heard, that's it.

Harry wrote:Sisters were started just over six months after Grey Knights so it follows they would be finished just over six months after Grey Knights.
It also follows that whoever wrote Grey Knights was not the lead writer on Sisters.
(Because they were always separate projects)

StraightSilver wrote:As for Sisters, the plastics went Beta in February apparently (from a not so reliable source), and it's normally a long while before they get released after that, but it's possible it could be Q1 2012?

I hope they do put Arbites into the SoB codex, always loved the models, and when it comes out my current IG with SoB allies will have to be expanded into 2 separate armies, and some plastic Arbites would be super

I've never seen anything regarding a source for such. If I had to, I'd guess that it originated from the current state of the codex (i.e. a free PDF on GW's site - albeit one taken from an existing book).

Regarding this rumor, Warseer has someone who's just as adamant that they heard an official GW person state 2012. If I had to guess - and assuming that both sources are legit - then I'd guess that Sisters are tentatively slated for the end of the year, but could still easily slip into early 2012.

In any event, 'bout time.

I think you'll find that Wolf and BA players disagree with you there.

But nice to see the (typical) Sisters player sense of entitlement is alive and well in you Melissia.

A sisters of battle pdf has been mentioned on Dice Like Thunder/Eternal Warriors podcast via their rumor source firemanguy. That is the only source of that rumor that I know of and that was some time ago. Other then that I think its been pure speculation based on the whole 'issues with sisters plastics' and the inclusion of witchhunter units in the grey knight codex.

I wouldn't be shocked if GW did a temporary pdf for sisters until they can get a full model revision completed but I doubt that is what they'll do.

With nearly 7600 posts in less than a year, who hasn't?

On Topic, SoB will probably get pushed to January of 2012, Tyranid style.

GW likes to plan a grand scheme and pack the year full, then realizes about mid-summer that they left no room for all that fat holiday shopping from October to December and shuts down new releases.

I found this too. At last we know what an Arcabalista is.

edit:
This garbage come from a 4chan thread and this was posted hours after the other three, and yes it looks different than the others. Who can say what any of this means for credibility. To further add to the unsourcable mishmash of rumor. I'm a long time Sisters player and my local red shirt has assured me that I'll see plastics soon take that again, for whatever it's worth.

I have to agree with the Font thing now. That thing is straight out of Word.

There's a small chance it could be how they deliver the Playtest rulesets though.

Just looks too fake.

Maybe that's the plan though.

I would love to see a New Sisters Codex. They are much (and Ordos Hereticus too!) my favourite 40k force.

Be nice if it was this year or early 2012. I could deal with that.

And if it works in the same way as the GK plastics, Basic SoB could be used for Battle Sisters, Dominions, Celestians and Retributor squads. Would offer a lot of options.

Then Exorcist and Seraphim as the other plastic kits would be nice too.

Armies | Space Marines (Void Knights - Own Chapter), Space Wolves & Dark Angels | Imperial Guard Cadian and Kasrikin | Grey Knight/Sisters/Inquisitors | Empire - Hochland | Britanan (Relics) | Mordor & Gondor |

Hello, although I'm a static Zero.
I'm fighting all your wars.

Warning: These miniatures contain lead and should not be chewed or swallowed.

These Miniatures may well be miscast...
