I get that Hive Worlds, Forge Worlds, etc would be horrible places to live. Even then, the majority of humanity would live on agri-worlds and the myriad, scattered planets with no real function other than their taxes and troop "donations." Oh well. I weep for humanity.

Human in the Tau Empire. Sure your Tau comrades will have a better chance of getting somewhere high-up in Tau society, but at least you get a long life and it's not the Imperium.

Maybe I would be an inquisitor! They are human after all! Regular human just with cybernetics and Space Marine armor lol!

Eldar are the best because yes you might have to fight as a guardian but at least you look good, you can be pretty much anything you want ( bone singer or farseer for me) the only other choices would be either tau as you might get to be a stealth suit driver and you night get to retire. or orks as you either spend your time fighting or playing practical jokes on your brethren.

I would definitely be an ork. Im clumsy as hell and get easily addicted/dedicated to something. Also im lazy and smell bad.

I don't get why so many people don't want to be human. A lot of humanity live generally normal pleasant lives and never see warfare at all.

A lot of humans in40k live miserable sovietesque lives in hive cities getting by.
Simply not seeing warfare isn't the same as a pleasant life.

Personally, I'd want to be a Human. Why? Loyalty to my species primarily, and protecting Humanity seems like the morally right path to me. Preferably an Inquisitor. Failing that, a Commissar.
