It is still September here in western Canada.

Absolute Unit - Tallest Necromunda Terrain Piece

With the lack of models left to paint I moved to terrain and built another classic piece of Necromunda lore. The tower with the elevator from the Outlanders set...with all the cardboard replaced by plastic card painted and details added. I added an extra level to make this one the absolute tallest terrain unit.

October is always a halloween special. Spooks, scares, costumes, trick or treat. That kind of thing. I’ll post the comp thread tomorrow morning.

Normally we have a poll a little over a week before the end of the month to choose the topic for the next, but for the 3 fixed months we skip that step.

This is Halloween, this is Halloween
Pumpkins scream in the dead of night

This is Halloween, everybody make a scene
Trick or treat till the neighbors gonna die of fright
It's our town, everybody scream
In this town of Halloween

Thank you Sir, I always seem to paint up until the deadline and then use the extra day for photos or stay up really late and take them.

Placeholder Photo, will get the real ones up tomorrow after work, also think I need to dig out my proof photo too.

A Protoss colony world

Looks like I'm out again this month. Motivation was lacking and right in the middle of everything I somehow ended up getting tendonitis in my right hand, which prevented me from doing any hobbying for over a week.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/1/23, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~15000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Adeptus Custodes: ~1900 | Imperial Knights: ~2000 | Sisters of Battle: ~3500 | Leagues of Votann: ~1200 | Tyranids: ~2600 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000
Check out my P&M Blogs: ZergSmasher's P&M Blog | Imperial Knights blog | Board Games blog | Total models painted in 2023: 40 | Total models painted in 2024: 25 | Current main painting project: Kruleboyz Spearhead

See, this is one big advantage of being left handed. I can mess up my right and still paint fine. Well, as good as I normally do. Hope you recover well. There is always next month!

Maybe we should do a technical challenge: paint with your off-hand.

Probably not. At least nothing voted on, but maybe a one-off for a lark.

Woah pretty cool, actually looks a lot like what I had in mind on my Orc army stories (in their case it was a concrete block version with inner stairway but still looks a lot like what I pictured.

I would personally not climb such a thing because I have heightsfears.

Hmmm…

Just changed my pics again for the ‘auto adjusted’ versions as I feel the color is a little better in them but now they aren’t appearing in my post :(

I know, all I do is complain… lol

False Alarm! It turns out what needed ‘auto adjusting’ was my patience. They’ve appeared…

Here we go my Final Pics

I always wanted to paint a Dreadnought. I couldn't find my old school metal one that could be used as a blunt weapon but did have this one from one of the monthly Warhammer mags. He's your standard Absolute Unit of a Dreadnaught, hangs out with his mates, throws massive statues at Helldrakes the usual, and a little surprise to bring us into Orktober too

So I massively underestimated how much work I had to do to finish my Dire Avenger wraithlord. I don't know if I'm still allowed to enter with this, being so far overdue, but here's my proof and entry pic. Completely up to everyone else whether my entry is accepted, I'll happily withdraw if this causes issues.

To be fair, I’ve been real bad about formally closing these. I just let it sit until I get around to putting the vote together (which should be tomorrow)

I’ll let it slide. If anyone else has a entry they finished in overtime, toss it up.

I’ll try to ve more structured on this point.
