I have started a marine today, the current plan is a techmarine with animal furs, want him to be sort of Fenrisian, but to have my own chapter ideas. Though of course since he's a techmarine, he'll be dark red armoured. More news when I get the concept properly sorted in my head.

Not entirely sure how this marine swap stuff works, whether we swap a character, or just a regular marine, or if it is just decided between people at their discretion. I have a few spare pairs of legs, so I can roll with whatever may occur. And I have some AoBR marines if I feel like being cheeky

Not sure why I am starting the marine without having anyone to swap with yet, but I'm excited about the project.

Lot of GS work still to do, going to try to sculpt as many bits and pieces around the model as I can.

This is mostly for me to have something different and interesting to do, while trying to improve my painting skills. So yeah, whatever you'd enjoy doing, should be fun, I love Grey Knights, having one tagging along with my Mantis Warriors would make an interesting piece. My plan to now was a feral techmarine, wielding a bolter, with one of the old Iron Priest metal Servo arms. If you'd prefer a different set of weapons just let me know, I have an extensive bitzbox for Space Marines.

If anyone else would like to swap I am pretty sure I can have 2 on the go at once. Have some Death Company sprinting legs that I could turn into something interesting if anyone fancies something like that, or some basic standing legs. And plenty of AoBR marines. Could be really interesting trying to GS up one of those...

What are you looking for in a swap? Something that fits with your Blood Angels, a vanilla marine..? Or just something interesting.

Hey Owain, welcome to the show. Usually, most folks do custom builds and/or paint jobs for each other so everyone gets what they need. (as graven is doing above) However, if you've got a couple of figures you don't need that you would be willing to trade, post a couple of pics and see if anyone's interested.

No rules, but it's best to post some examples of your work, then work out a trade with someone one-to-one. So the two of you can make exactly the the other would like. Seems to work best that way in any case. If you see someone else's work that you like, PM them and see if they'll trade (or you can post an inquiry here). Others will do the same once they see what you're capable of.

I'm guessing that's a reference to my guy It was just so Solar could choose between a Deathwatch pad and a Mentor one.

Also need a good, small picture for the front page with some swapped marines. Any good submissions? I know some of you are photo gurus.

Use Gits Deathwatch photo. It has the most exposure of any. Otherwise I'd go with Kate B. from Underworld holding a pic of Gits' deathwatch photo.

That is what is currently in use (see: Front page of dakka), but it get shrunk to 300px wide and is a bit hard to see.

I can take a pic of a group of 3 or 4 tonight, would that suffice?

Okay, posting here just because I miss posting on Dakka Terribly. Have been slowly re-painting my ENTIRE ARMY (ugh) and have been wanting to put up pics and start a blog for a while. But my fiance's down in florida visiting family and she's got the only good camera with her. So I'm (barely) resisting the urge to start it without pics and promise that "they're coming!"

I've also been resisting the urge to post here before I have pictures or something to swap... but I failed today. I'm posting. I suppose just to say that as soon as I get pictures up I'm gonna see if anyone wants to do a little "combat squad from my campaign for combat squad of your chapter" trade.

So expect my eager return. ; )

nkelsch - You don't have to play marines, there's a few of us doing orks and I believe there's a couple doing guard (at least I seem to remember someone mentioning guard). What do you normally field?

mostly SM and orks have been traded, but I know a few people (like myself) play guard and had been toying with the idea of trading some guard!
