Nope, no DW pad, or total lack thereof, needed. Yes on the unbased, I just went through and re-based all the other marines I've gotten. I like the new models because of individuality, but old models are better then none, and the chances of me getting other models that are the same as pretty small.

No it would be individual, it wouldn't do to be sending unconverted mini's out from my underwater lair

I was thinking more of the old scout armour being differing model. One of the things with my Crusaders is I like to play about with the old models, trying to get different models from the old one piece marines, using the space crusade scouts with removable arms with different weapons etc.

Pretty basic paint job, fluff has them with no chapter iconography showing whilst they are still Penitent.

Lol, just realised I'd taken pics and written about something there was a vaque possibility I'd do, think I've convinced myself

As I have a RT marine from the swap, I think that a "Vintage" squad would be nifty. If you convince yourself further, I'm sure they'd find a good home

Krylon Rusty Metal Primer is a very nice, smooth brown. May be worth checking out, it has a brown cap and is in most stores with a paint section.

Alright, I'll have to paint up a spare marine... is it just basica tactical marines, or would assault marines work too?

Typically, once you get someone interested, you and they will work out exactly what wargear the models will have. Can be anything from a basic tac marine, up to HQ models or vehicles. Letely there has been an influx of orks as well.

Since recently getting back into the hobby, ive taken on all these ideas. so as such, duly noted. ive stripped a few parts back now and plan on repainting and de moulding soon. ill repost some pictures when ive finished him.

Hey I'm keen to get involved.

I could rustle up a marine from my DIY chapter of Honoured Sons, a pic of a wip marine should be my avatar now, or have a go at whatever anyone wants. The practice of modelling, converting and painting something new is always welcome.

I have been wanting to have a go at a couple of Mentor marines, and in the old fluff the veterans or entire squads used to be sent off to different chapters to learn about their arts of war. So, white and green anyone?

Cool color scheme Mohaniker. Mentors would be cool to see completed as well. I always liked their fluff.
