Thank you Nerdy... high praise indeed from such an artist as yourself!

The problem with having multiple kids into this game is that I'm having to buy everything... several times. The next game I'm going to play all by myself!
The big exciting thing are Cam's brilliant bamboo stands which not only are awesome in and of themselves... but they are the perfect size for filling in and around my giant "drinking straw bamboo" pieces. Donated for the cause by Cam of course... generous to a fault as usual. Thanks mate.
Add to this a couple of copies of various card sets for the boys and I to share... the two "official" 50mm base objectives (hokora) because I just wasn't happy with anything I concocted on my own, and last but not least... my big-dog samurai! Yeah baby!!

Seemed like a good intro - think the music could do with being brought down a lot more once you start talking though, there are patches where it drowns your voice, and vies for attention a lot of the rest. Not saying it should necessarily be muted, but needs to be a lot lower level than your voice to make things clear.
Good talk though, and you appeared natural, which is hard to do
Well, I have two battle reports worth of pictures loaded but no time to write-up two battle reports... In the meantime then, I'll leave you with a pic of the latest reinvention of the water board. Now that all the wood-work is properly stained, things look much nicer.
The idea here is that the local powers-that-be set up these channel-blocking docks in order to allow transfer of merchandise not only to the attached islands but to in effect, create a mandatory opportunity to charge a toll on transiting goods which have to be unloaded from one boat, then re-loaded onto another on the opposite side of the docks in order to continue on. Perhaps this is the mouth of a small harbor where the "interior" traffic is controlled by whomever controls the docks, thus strangling the trade unless people are willing to play ball. Or perhaps, this is simply a long channel in-between islands but was set up with the same money-making premise as above. In any case, control of the docks can make a clan both rich and influential, thus is a natural point of conflict.
I designed this with two primary missions in-mind. "The Idols" where you have three idols spread in a line across the center of the docks and you fight to influence the idols (thus controlling the two docks and the bridge intersection). The other mission(s) are those where you are trying to kill each others "VIM" (very important model). In these missions you're trying not only to keep your VIM alive but to smuggle him/her to the other factions deployment zone (which in this case would be the opposite corner). Imagine a messenger trying to get through to make an important business deal, alliance or communicate with spies hidden near the other faction's base of operations.
We'll see how it plays.

Good board. Like what you did with the water and the depth it shows.

Did a bit of experimenting tonight as well as some shopping for both filming supplies and terrain building supplies. Hope the terrain stuff works out well, should be a real treat if it does.
Decided to take some stills with my digital SLR rather than the phone. Forgotten how good it is. No good for filming though... it can do both film and sound but the autofocus is very primitive and cant even keep up with slow motion or moving steadily from one point to another.
Here's a few pics of Thing 1's figures on the new waterboard configuration. I think the SLR does a better job though it isn't quite as convenient. The color balance is a lot better, though I think I need a set of macro lenses to make the figure shots easy.

ok so this is a pretty sweet little game gits. digging your board. I like the batreps as well personally not a fan of video bat reps cause usually they folks that make em are all over the place and well kinda annoying but yours are pretty good.

And here it is. Not quite terrain exactly but pretty close. This is one of a pair of "large objectives" that are used in specific scenarios. They are hokora (small shrines) which I do actually have other versions of as terrain. I was going to call this one "done", but I think I'll go back and revisit the gold just a bit. The second one of these is nearly done and I expect to have the pair finished off by tonight.

I agree. Really shows off to action pose of the figure and the decent job Thing 1 did in painting her face.

Indeed you do Archer! Indeed you do.

Thanks 'bama. It's all new to me so I'm just trying to not embarrass myself. It should please you to know that I've got plenty of photos for two regular, old, written battle reports... just can't find the time to sit down and write them up.
Pics of the finished objectives tonight. Will also start working on editing the next video battle report. Also will have something new and unusual (for all of us, me included) written up by the weekend. Stay tuned!

Oriental-style board(s) and scenery are ace, really!
I guess I never got around to answer your question (a couple pages back already, that's the problem with Gits' blog, ) about which way to go/themes with posting. Been said already, but might as well add my two cents: the only right way is the one that makes you happier, and that's it.
Personally, I care for great paint jobs and beautiful terrain, no matter the game system. Batreps are also great, specially on those thematic boards! (More of a write-up and still photos than videos myself, but I reckon I'm getting outdated there)
And hearing about you sharing game and hobby with your sons is awesome, too.
So keep it coming!
