It is mentioned in codex that dreadnoughts are three times taller than a average human(that some 175-180cm=5,2m) not 3,6m.Just my mostly harmless thought.
Hail to the creeeeeeeeeeeeeeed!baby Ask not the moot a question, for he will give you three answers, all of which will result in a public humiliation.

No 180cm isnt 5.2m you fool its 1.8m.
182cm is 6 foot.
Also the most recent SM codex (which appears to be what you are referencing) does not say anything about 3 times taller than a normal human (which is debateable in the 40k galaxy anyway as different worlds will have different gravities and so inhabitants will have different heights, not to mention the other factors such as diet).
Dreads are normally accepted to be around twice the hight of a space marine, thats 16 foot or 4.8m.
Thanks for that responce corpsesarefun and im making the dreadnoughts size to that of the models which is twice the height
Automatically Appended Next Post: Also the door problem is solved for the torso is built up of 4 parts like the actual models allowing me to assemble it inside

It always amazes me how people can become so nit-picky about a build when the fluff itself is rather loose. I think building a good scratch build is about capturing the spirit of the source material. And all the cited number mean nothing, look at the model from the table top, how tall does it look? Pictures, artwork, they vary in their depiction, interpretation of the subject.
Don't get me wrong, I've busted out the micrometer when trying to reference BFG ships.
Just wanted to contribute some fanart I did for your thread, in hopes of biasing the votes and bumping this awesome thread Great job so far dude, cant wait for more updates!
Btw, that BT dread is snazzy, but the banner is a little over the top

OKAY I NEED WEAPON IDEAS the dreads right arm im making so it can switch out with other arms
i want weapon ideas im going to have like 6 different guns though im also telling you know my little dreadnoughts chainsaw arm im also making for it already and the assault cannon i just need other ideas ok the first 5 posted i may use right away
Right Arm: Assault Cannon, Plasma Cannon, Multi-Melta are all ones I'd prefer to see done. Especially the Plasma Cannon if you can make it glow in the coils area. The left arm just has to be a close combat arm. I'd even say make another for the right and paint your Dreadnought in Blood Angels colors. Furioso, anyone?
ALSO, don't forget the underslung storm bolter/heavy flamer. WIthout it, I see flaws.
"From the fires of Betrayal unto the blood of revenge we bring the name of Lorgar, the Bearer of the Word, the favored Son of Chaos, all praise be given to him. From those that would not heed we offer praise to those who do, that they might turn their gaze our way and gift us with the Boon of Pain, to turn the Galaxy red with the blood, and feed the hunger of the Gods."

I will post a pic, but my dreadnought is black, and the two top armor plates are green.
Go dual fists. Probaly the easiest to make or maybe assault cannon. If you did assault cannon you could install a small electric motor and acually have the barrels spin. It might get a bit heavy in the arm but im sure something could be done.

The seismic hammer would be too weird, you would have to explain to everybody what it was. I think it would look best with the standard fist and assault cannon combo.

The Good Green wrote:Is that the newest nerf gun? I'm glad to see them making crazy awesome guns again. Perfect for a bolter, eh?
No, you have to mod it by adding like 3x the voltage to get the gun to do that. Setting it up again after each time you shoot it would suck, but that would be a really cool feature to the Dread cos.
Is there any way to get yer hands on more of the mag-belts? If you could connect a hundred or so of them and have it feed in from the shoulder... that would be awesome! and you wouldn't have to run around collecting all the darts to reload... awful waist of foam, tho, to leave all those darts around the convention floor.
I can't wait to see the arms for this beast.
Firstly, the Nerf heavy machine gun is so cool that I bought one myself and my 3 year old son loves it.
Secondly, you need about 12v to get a high rate of fire, but it will melt the motor after about 2 or 3 minutes of use as it is not made for it.
Lastly, it is very easy to extend the chains by unscrewing the last round of one chain and the first of another and put the fabric in between them. They are 25 rounds each.
They aren't too heavy if you don't have batteries in them, they use 6 D batteries.
