Thanks Mike! It will be a pleasure to put the paintbrushes on your minis again.

Re-viewing the Kickstarter video, and thinking about the infection markers, I've realized that I haven't fully understood the factions involved. The video speaks about workers who started a revolution, and about the Vanguard marines. Then something happens in Alabaster, where this infection breaches. Do the Strain control the infection, and so they can infect the Vanguard? Or the infection is more like an enviromental force and none of the players can control it? Are the Strain and the workers the same faction, or maybe the workers are used by the Strain? How would the two new factions you're planning relate to the existing ones?

And on a gameplay level, I see you can have more than one infection markers per model. I guess that when a mini reachs a certain number, it dies. Do the markers have additional effects? Like making them slower, weaker...

Cheers!

Maybe some of the answers are in the video, but my listening skills aren't very good in English, sorry :S

From following the original fluff, the Vanguard and the Firebrand are in conflict, as I understand it, the Strain is something "particular" to this research station, and essentially something the Vanguard need to "deal" with. I don't think the Firebrand actually play a part in this slice of the Sedition Wars setting.

Of course, the game and the setting is new, so much could have been changed as the setting is evolving.....

Oh, I see, so I take that the Firebrand are those workers I was talking about. Is that faction where miniatures like the Conscript Terrorists and the Drone Troopers would fit in?

Thanks a lot!

Looks really cool, and this is from a somewhat semi-serious hobbyist with nothing other than 3k points of Space Marines...

I am going to check if the Long Haired colonel minds me buying more minis... but I reckon im in as well.

One question, well, i suppose it turns into about 10!

Do they take the cash instantly? And if the shipping thing gets worked out, will it be subtracted? I'm somewhat ignorant of how kickstarter works..

The only reservation I have.. is not even the 25$ extra.. its the fiends who work in customs, who stole my last item (a pair of bloody Mizuno running shoes!) which I bought off ebay cos they were £90 here, but worked out at only £65 in the states back when the dollar was low, and when it came, customs charged me £17 to get it anyway!

If the fethers lump £30 on top of my box.. the rage will be immense!

We are arming Syrian rebels who support ISIS, who is fighting Iran, who is fighting Iraq who we also support against ISIS, while fighting Kurds who we support while they are fighting Syrian rebels.

The payment is made htrough an Amazon.com account. Kickstarter doesn't take the money until the day the project is funded (30th of June, in this case). Also, if it doesn't reach the minimum objective (that was $20000) the funding fails and they don't get any money. But they have exceeded that minimum, the project is going good so you would be charged on June 30th.

I have the same fear than you about customs

Since we're humming along now and opening new tools left and right, the Phase 1 Strain models could do with some alternates!

If we hit this stretch, every game will get a horrific alternate sculpt of a Phase 1 Strain model. If you didn't have a reason to keep firing before, you sure do now!

Yeah, if I'd had the money I would have definitely bought that top slot... a day of painting lessons from Mike would be awesome and well worth the cost.

I can't wait to see what the next stretch goal is... and how many more stretches we can reach in the next 32 days. I still can't believe it's only been 4 days...

Looks like I was too slow. That next stretch is looking really disgusting... in a good way

Sorry - it can be a little confusing.

Here's a quick summary of what's going on. The Vanguard are battling at the edge of occupied space to put down the Firebrand rebellion - a slave army who have risen up against their SolCon masters. Firebrand researchers are working on a benign nano-tech system in Alabaster Station - when *something* happens, and they are wiped out by The Strain - a nano virus that consumes and re-shapes organic and non-organic materials into the Strain construct.

I just posted a fiction piece on the blog - http://studiomcvey.blogspot.co.uk/2012/05/outbreak.html

So strictly speaking - the Firebrand are in this game - just not in their usual form.

In the game, Vanguard models can become infected with the Nano virus and this is indicated with infection counters (now plastic!) - as the infection spreads they gain more counters until…. MUTATE!

...and if this does well we'll see similarly priced games/expansions with similar numbers of similar quality models, only then with those firebrand guys in it? nice!

OH-I Wanna get out of here

For the 100k point, is that an extra model, or simply replacing one of the current models in the box? I'm hoping it's extra. Extra is always good.

Really need to see more of the "elite" levels. $100-$300 at a time will only go so far.

Wow thank you very much!! It looks really good. And yes it must be definitely fun if your models can mutate and change the curse of the game really fast

Its just like the first stretch goal I assume, only alt sculpts

Though why do I get the felling that a 120k goal is gonna be more strain models

Be they easy to put together or not, please ensure you avoid the mistakes of Super Dungeon Explore and have some sort of assembly instructions included. Almost every review or opinion of SDE I read (and I share this opinion) basically said that the game was fantastic, but putting the models together was an absolute nightmare.

Quick question that I'd like to know before getting involved:

- Are there any plans to expand Sedition Wars into a tabletop game?

Similar to how Dust Tactics was a tile-based board games to start with, but is expanding into a tabletop game?

The main appeal of this for me would be the great-looking plastics, but I'm not all that big on board gaming, so I'd only really be interested for miniatures, which I'd ideally want to use in a tabletop game later down the line.

I asked that on page 1 or 2 of this thread... maybe 3? Too lazy to look.

Mike said that if the game is successful enough the game will eventually become a skirmish game (I assume just like Malifaux, Infinity, etc). Measuring tape, terrain, templates, etc.

I would look forward to something like. I love the fluff and art of this game.

Deciding whether or not I should double up and 2 of everything with a 200 dollar donation.

This is something we have thought about a lot - and it's not quite as easy as you would assume...

Here's the issue - I send the miniatures away for tooling in one form, but they have to change a little to suit the process. Part counts change and the way they fit together can also alter. I won't see the actual final pieces until the production process is underway - and at that point it's too late to get diagrams done and inserted into the boxes. The deadlines we are working to are frighteningly tight...

The solution I came up with was to have diagrams done as soon as the final pieces are available - and make them available on the website in time for launch. There will be a paragraph to this effect in the rule book and a link to follow to get the diagrams.

I hope that will be okay with people. We have also done a lot to make sure the assembly will be easy, and some of the parts will be push-fit.

That makes sense. I have to assume that the same problem affected SDE as well... only in their case it hurt quite badly as those models were deceptively complicated.

That sounds perfect. If it's in the book then we don't have to go and randomly find it on tabletopgamingnews (as I did with SDE) and then start posting the picture everywhere. Just be sure to mention what type of glue you need. I know that sounds trivial and obvious, but, again, the SDE models were hell to put together, and if someone hadn't told me that you needed super-glue I wouldn't've figured it out until I was knee deep in plastic cement fumes!

I guess that explains why the SDE expansions are coming with the models already assembled...
