Stretch goals that have more 'free' miniatures in them will whip the crowd-funding... crowd...into a pledging frenzy, much like we saw with Zombicide and Ogre.

I fully expect more Free Miniature Stretch Goals any second now!

I wonder what will happen to the existing ranges of Sedition Wars miniatures on Studio McVey's website. I'm kinda tempted by them at the moment.

Some of the Vanguard look to have been remastered in plastic, while I think ALL of the strain are remasters of the resin range. Will the range ever be released now in metal, Mike?

Cheers,
Steve

As far as I'm aware the current Vanguard range is metal, and the Strain range is resin. And considering I own them all I should know.

Maybe they've changed since I picked my stuff up, but that's what mine are made of.

Hope that helps.

I wish the some of the Strain big base models were cheaper. They'd make some great stand-in's for ogryns and such in a chaos ig army

Either way I'm definitely down. I'll be donating for at least the Biohazard level in the next week.

I'll rephrase. Some of the metal (originally released in resin) Vanguard have been remastered in plastic for this boxed game release. ALL of the Strain models in this box are based on the (currently available) resin models available at Studio McVey. What we've not seen is a metal release of the Strain (compared with the Vanguard and Firebrand models, which have all been released in metal). I'm wondering now, given the boxed game, whether we'll ever see such a release.

The Strain are actually available in metal - but only from CMON. I kept them in resin in he UK as I knew they were going to be converted to plastic for there game.

We'll keep the metal lines on sale and add to them after the game comes out. All of the new miniatures in the game (Samaritans, Cthonian, Hurley), will be available separately at some point.

I pledged for the "We've Got Movement" level. It's two biohazards.

I think that means two games box sets, two signed prints, and a total of 126 figures (so far) including the two resin figures

Pretty sweet! I look forward to November!.

yeah,
I emailed CMON on kick starter to see if they can do something about the postage to the UK.
I got a reply;

CoolMiniOrNot wrote:We're looking into it, but can't commit to that right now. If we do ship from the UK, the cost will still be around $25 per box due to the additional VAT and customs shipment charges into the UK, but at least you won't have to deal with HMS Customs on your end.

Avoiding Customs and Royal mail hold ups would be nice.
I hope they can divert enough boxes to the UK to avoid the 'additional shipment charges' that would be great.
the US kick starter price pays for internal postage, so once the boxes are in the UK our internal postage should be paid too?
we as UK customers should only have to deal with Vat.

Starting to get tempted.

Im reading that as it will arive Vat and import duty paid allready? so maybe just the handleing charge?

I think the response to the Sedition Wars Kickstarter has been nothing short of phenomenal. I really do. I had a sneaky suspicion it'd do well... just not this well. I'm genuinely pleased for Mike and Ali. It's nice when good things happen to good people.

I've backed at the Biohazard level.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
@Curnow if your VAT is paid there is no need to pay import duty, and if either are paid then HMRC should not be charging a handling fee for something they haven't had to 'handle'. So I'd guess if the $25 on top of the backing us UK backers have had to make includes some for of tax payment we won't be hit by any further nasty surprises.

yeah,
They are saying that if they manage to send some boxes to UK, customers in the UK wont have to pay $25 international postage.

But since we are still liable for VAT (which is currently at 20%) the $25 international fee will cover that plus additional shippment costs.

So at biohazzard level UK VAT is $20 so we will be paying the $5 extra for local shipping.
I've mentioned to CMON that the US price includes free shipping and the should apply in the UK too... but that's only $5

If that makes sense?

If its confirmed that the $25 will pay for Vat and all import issues and charges. I'll pledge.

I agree that in an ideal world postage should be free for all or non. I disagree with the free postage to only the US since that means everyone else is subsidising the Americans...

well my primary concern was to myself and the fact the game is designed in the UK, that's why I worded my emails the way I did as it seemed like the way I'd have the most success.

Everyone else also has a voice and is free to use it for themselves.

Sorry I haven't been posting here much - just been incredibly busy with the game.

I have actually been shooting footage for a game-play video today - hopefully we'll be able to get that assembled and posted in the next few days.

Still working on the UK postage thing, I'm hoping an announcement is close...

Thanks for the continued support - it's really incredible!

Yeah but it's being distributed from the US. That's where the shipment is going (or will go). If it was getting shipped to... I dunno... South Africa I'd expect people in the US to pay shipping.

Because the game is being made by an alliance of a UK business (McVey) and a US business (CMoN).

@McVey

if you get a few crates to GB, please make that the distribution point for all of the EU as well. it'd save us a tonne of customs duties too. don't mind paying another $10 or so for that but it'd make this KS too attractive for me to ignore ^^

I think we might be getting a bit carried away with the shipping charges etc, Mike has already explained that the manufacturing force behind the game is CMON, so regardless of where the game is designed, we have to consider that it is essentially a US product.

Maybe the way forward for eveyone would be to make free shipping worldwide another "stretch" target. I mean, it looks like product goodies are maxed out right now, and although free worldwide shipping won't attract US based supporters, it will attract many more "Rest of world" supporters....so in a way that target will pay for itself.

Man down, Man down....

free won't work. 19-21% VAT (depending on which EU member state) is pretty much insurmountable, I fear.
I don't really mind that $25 shipping/VAT charge anyway (as long as that's all-in!) and would rather have more goodies. hey, that's what makes these kickstarter/indiegogo campaigns so much fun

Just saw that in the comments before coming over here. Looking forward to that video. Will be very important to the rest of the kickstarter! How many other kickstarters have shown gameplay videos during the fundraising? I like how confident studio mcvey and CMoN are with this product. I will be donating to this in the coming weeks when pay comes in.
