Beautiful work on Sabine Wren, YouWaShock. Love the helmet colors and designs particularly.

Sabine turned out amazing! So many bright colours, but they all work together well, and the highlights are lovely.

That dragon looks immense too, already getting loads of texture on it

Thanks, you two!

Getting Sabine's look down was pretty nerve-wracking. Glad you are liking her.

I still function. Small progress pic. That is to say, a pic of small progress, not a small pic. Hoping to make significant gains over the next couple of days.

As gobert has said, texture all over this model. It would have been a good slapchop candidate if I had been smarter.

Thanks for looking!

Paint is all done. Quite a beast. Need to figure out how to take decent pics and then see if it fits in the cabinet. Time for varnish and basing. Until then, a B/W preview.

Thanks for looking!

Decided that the natural recess on the base would make a nice pond. Nothing like adding a step at the last minute.

That black and white shot is fantastic. Can't wait to see the finished beastie!

Thank you, Olthannon! I thought it looked pretty neat. Water cracked again, but the third coat seems good.

All done. The Titan Dragon of Aarklash, from Confrontation. Pour one out. Doesn't fit in the light box. Or on any shelves.

Quite happy to have this painted, finally. It's been warming the shelf for the better part of a decade. Also quite happy with how it has turned out. Went for the iconic red, not just because of the Paradigm theme, but because I have not painted a red dragon before, and they have been a fixture of fantasy since...forever?

So that's that. The monthly challenges have been a lot of fun, and make for great motivation.
Renewal is the theme for July, and I have just the thing.

Thanks for looking!

That is an impressive beastie! Love the little colour variations on the scales, and the contrast the claws, spines and teeth give against the red. Top stuff!

Thank you all, very much! I am very appreciative of the response so far. This model was quite a project, passing the Knights as the largest model I have painted to date.

I am in on the monthly challenge with Immortal Hulk. I love this storyline and was quite excited when I heard they were releasing a figure based on it. But then I saw the model and thought, "well, that just looks like Hulk." Immortal Hulk was a return to Hulk's horror roots, and featured lots of Wrightson-esque body-horror imagery. To me, the model is interchangeable with the "regular" one that is already available. So I have been considering ways to bring some of that visceral quality over when I assemble and paint this guy. We will see how it goes.

Thanks again for the comments! And thanks for looking!

And here's a bit of a scale shot in his new home. Shelves that until recently were not occupied by minis. Nev wasn't far off.

The Confrontation line was 35 mm, if I recall, so that gives an idea as to the dragon's size. Moving to this new cabinet also gave me the chance to have all my painted Rackham minis in the same spot. The Wolfen got the shelf right under.

Okay, that's a big dragon. He looks great too! Interested to see what you do with the Hulk to lean into the body horror angle.

Congratulations on getting this absolute beast finished. It's absolutely awesome, literally! Seeing the scale of the thing makes it all the cooler.

Really like how you did the red and changing skin tones, looks so much more 'realistic'.

Very kind of you all. Thank you!

Assembly started. Then it will be time to start messing with the sculpt.

Have also been working on this on the side for my son. Just about ready to start painting. May add another detail or two.

Fun little project. Thanks for looking!

Chestburster?

Very curious where you are going with this.

Not quite. When musing over how to make this more Immortal Hulk and less just More Dynamic Hulk, I settled on two scenes. One, the cover of issue three, which features Hulk with a big ol'hole blown through him. Two, the scene where a whirlwind of Hulk parts engulfs and absorbs the scientist who cut him up and stuffed him into jars. For those not familiar, it's a pretty gruesome storyline. And it's awesome.

Still need to blend the guy being absorbed. Thanks for looking!

Late to the dragon admiration party, but wow, it's awesome, well done!

And that hulk is going in a very interesting/disturbing direction, I love it

Interested to see where the Hulk is going!

Hulk's done and in the varnish stage. Almost there.

In other news, the school has a new 3D printer. I took it out for a test drive.

Picks up a bus and he throws it back down.

Have a few more things cooking there. I knew having easy access to a printer could be a problem.

Great work on the Hulk and Godzilla is looking lovely, not bad for a 3D print at all. The tech these days seems far more refined.

Thank you, Olthannon! Big boy did turn out well. Quite happy with him. Printed 2 more in a smaller scale. They did NOT turn out as well. Compressing the details, combined with an inferior clear filament, gave me a less than satisfactory result. Thankfully, the big one is the important one and the rest were experiments.

All done. Immortal Hulk. Renewal in monstrous form. He falls, only to rise again. I loved this story arc. First time using Uhu gore. Worked ok. In the end, I think the modifications I made help sell this as Immortal Hulk rather than Another Hulk.

Peekaboo!

Also finished another Randolorian. This one was inspired by Boba Fett's original look, seen in Droids and the infamous Holiday special.

And a group shot of the Mandos so far.

The next Mando should be fun. Have something a little different and slightly silly planned.

Thanks for looking!
