Well, I can back expecting more awesome terrain and got 2 pages of OT crap, well done guys.
back on topic...Marty, what have you used as the base of your river/canal? I've been trying to make a river for my board for months and cant get it to work.
I used plasticard for the base, and as soon as I started gluing and using the water effect the base started to curl up at the sides, so it no longer sits flat.

The WFB modular movement trays? Man I've got a couple of those and you can imagine how many times I've been tempted to (1) tear them apart for terrain, especially for flooring, or (2) buy a bunch of them on eBay and make something.

I bought a package for the Ordinatus project, used some of them, but ended up using something else for girders. I'm going to use them for terrain.

Tiled textured plasticard would be much cheaper to use (and easier to cut) for floors than the GW movement trays. BUT..If you have a LOT of them, might as well use them up.

Expensive but rigid and easy to cut with a razor saw. For my money if I'm going to spend so much time making this terrain I'd rather make sure it will last. You get two in a pack and eBay is a great way time save if you need more then two.
All of my terrain is based on movement trays. I'll never use anything else!

Yes, they are quite sturdy! With Plasticard you'd have to glue it to something thick and sturdy too. Somewhere, maybe WD?..I saw a photo of the GW Studio Terrain shop with a wheelbarrow full of those.

Just the fluff and pictures of models were worth the cost. Now time to learn this MFer!

Aren't the Orbital Platform and the City wall amazing?? I tried to count how many SotA kits you would need to build the city gate...It's a LOT.

Don't they just appear randomly, shoot stuff, and then immediately dissapear again in the fluff?
