This link might do you some good, also for some reason I think having a sabretooth marine lunging at a extremely surprised dog would be a funny objective marker.

Sorry guys, have been busy with my new baneblade but it's nearly finished so I 'm back to marines (until my 3 second hand leman russes arrive

) I havn't totally ignored the sabretooth marines and have a new model to show you.

This is my Lion Guard (wolf guard counts as) Red Bison.

The head is just a place holder till I find something with a bit more character

Maybe I'm way off here BLACKHAND, but I like that head. It looks menacing and affords the proper fear and respect.

Fair enough tony_nids, I just wanted to go with a tribal look as much as possible, mayby I can add another braid with some feathers to the head to give the right feel..back to the work table!

I think that head is awesome on the model, but I can also understand wanting the more primal looking head. Very hardcore looking guy, congrats!

Keep that head, add a big azz scar down his eye. Would make a very "to hell and back" look, perfect for a guard.

You could do some deep gouges just at the edge of the mask coming upwards, make it look like he got badly clawed by one of the sabertooth cats?

LOL, Ok the head will stay, I will attempt a bit of scarring and battle damage and will get a pic up tomorrow.

I will also have a WIP shot of my Wulfen as I have abandoned hope of getting a set of Ghoul claws for him and have gone with a half open left hand and a right hand with a tomahawk, I know it's not exactly feral but I want to get him finished eventually.

I suggest using the Devastator Sergeant head that is half metallic and half flesh, would give that ravaged/bad ass look that would suit.

Thanks for all the positive feedback again guys, its really helped get me back to my marines after getting tank fever

@ commisar agro - He is also about a head taller than a normal trooper due to his termie legs

@winter -I've already used that head on my melta squaddie

@brummieD - I find the sanguinary guard are a bit too ornate for the tribal theme I'm going for.

Absolutely love the way the gashes go from the metal part of the lower helm onto the head... man, how do you put that all together in your mind before executing it on the figure??

I just imagined a claw of some kind hacking at his face and voila....

....there is also an aspect of just having a go and seeing how it comes out

Okay Dokay, So I stated earlier in the thread that I was holding off on naming the chapter till I had more models painted and I could show my theme properly and as I have 5 marines painted now I am going to open up the plog for a suggestionpalooza (yes that is a word).

first off the boys I have so far......

... now that you have an idea of what I'm going for

After trawling through the entire thread I have these chapter name suggestions :

Sabre Legion

Emporer's Fangs

The Nomads

Emporer's Pride

Huntmasters

Now I ask you, my most excellent and tasteful readers, to post a vote for any of these chapter names or to suggest another (if suggesting a new name keep in mind the Native American/sabretooth totem theme)

I will try and make a decision next weekend....or sometime very soon after that...I think

Out of the options presented, I like Sabre Legion the best, but I can't shake the nagging feeling that there's something better out there. Let me mull it over... maybe someone else will hit on it in the meantime.

Out of the 5 names I like Sabre Legion the best, but they're not really a legion, are they? ^^
