I really don't think I'll be putting much time into the american line. I want to finish my goals on the German stuff (Tiger II, Hummel, Leo, Panther, JagdTiger), then I'll switch back to the Russians and finish the heavy line to get the IS-7. The game will probably got to release before I get there, but that's the goal anyhow. Got my Hummel and Leo, 30k away from the Tiger II, and I'm 2 tanks away from the Panther, 3 away from the JagdTiger. From videos that I've seen of the patch implemented on the test server, long range firing is going to be pretty much fixed. No more warping and no more lag delay on the flight time of shells. This is a major boost to the German line as the only real advantage they have is the greater precision of their guns at range.

I'll check out some US tanks I guess. Overall though I'm starting to really lose interest in the game :( Most matches are just boring snoozefest camper games. seems like for every fun match I get, I gotta sit through about 10 annoying ones. But it usually just takes 2 to make me shut the game off and go paint models instead. The game is just a lot more fun with lower level tanks, and doesn't scale up very well. Seems the higher you get, the less fun you have :(

I dunno, I have a blast with a fully upgraded Tiger...but it's also a different type of gameplay. Only a couple games here and there are true campfests for me. It can get repetative though. I really like the two new maps and the fixes on aiming are fantastic.

Awww, I like some of the camp-fests.

I have killed a few tanks now just by seeing trees fall across the map, and shelling the correct spot.

About 1 in 4 games though, I end up destroyed before I can even move (or move much) by folks rushing. Sometimes it takes ages for me to load a level.

I still like that I can log in for 30min and get 4+ games in, usually more.

Well I have my ups and downs

I can play 10 games straight or barely tolerate one. pretty much the reason why I still dont have my SU8 even though I had my SU5 for at least 2 months now

Which slow tank, a bunch of them are slow!

Anyways have the M3 Lee/Grant now. Dang it sucks. Cant hit well with such a low 75mm cannon. Cant use the 37mm peashooter turret either

Ooops, guess that is true.

I just upgraded to the SU-14.
It is REALLY slow.

The US tanks were fun, I finally got rid of my Lee and got a sherman last night. It's speed is ok but it sucks at turning.

The US tanks are very very meh. In the German and Russian lines you get early and fun tanks like the PZ II and III or the BT-7 and A20 before moving up to the PzIV and T34. In the US line you get... the M2 Medium then into the M3 Lee. It's painful. I wish I'd been one of the ones smart enough to save up a ton of the transferable XP and just upgrade right through most of the early US tanks.

The Lee is... the Hetzer Mk II. It's not a tank, it's a TD. In lower tier games the 75mm is a beast and the upgraded one is a rapid fire nightmare. The problem is that in upper tier games, where the Lee finds itself a lot like any other tier 4 tank, the 75mm isn't good for much besides trying to track people. And with the high height and meh performance the Lee is just not any fun to play. I'm focusing on getting through it to the T1 Heavy and then never looking back. I'll get to the Easy 8 through the light tank line. I'm not slogging through another 13k in the Lee to get the regular Sherman. Seriously, the person who made the Lee the heart of the American medium/heavy tank lineage was a sadistic prick.

The only american tank I've come up against so far that had me worried was the T29. Shooting the turent is a waste of time and even the sides of the hull bounces shells from the long 88 more often than not if you have the slightest bit of angle on him. The rest have been simply meat for the grinder so far.

Hmm speaking of american tanks, after the M3 Lee/Grant which would be better? T1 Heavy or M4 Sherman? Priest is out of the question since last time I crossed trees (T34 to SU85) I wasted way too much time

I couldn't say for sure. Just looking at the final tanks in each of those lines, the medium looks pretty unimpressive. The heavy however has what looks like the strongest gun in the game outside of a SPG, and massive turrent armor. The hull armor on it is frighteningly thin though.

I'm going T1 from the Lee. I'm working my way up the light tree and after the M5 you start to get into medium tanks and onto the Easy 8. I'm not spending any more time on the Lee than i have to.

I went for the sherman just because I'm already doing heavies for russia and have an IS now, and I figured heavies for US would pretty much be about the same. I didn't have any decent medium tanks so I figured I'd do that with the US.

The Lee was ok, I just hid and played it like a TD most of the time unless I was in games with lots of little tanks. I managed to get a top gun award with it once. But I agree it shouldn't have been the main tank you upgrade from, it should have been the low end TD not a medium tank, I think the sherman should have been the main tank since it's kind if iconic and stuff

Yeah, without the working 37mm turret the Lee is just a TD no matter what you want to call it. I've had some success in lower tier games where it's gun is brutal but the armor is still gak. I've got lights shooting right through the glacis.

What would be a great addition is giving you ways to research better armor. Most of the Pz line got upgraded armor over time and so did many tanks. Ways to research thicker armor and more HP would be a good counter to some of the rampant upgunning going on.

Just got the SU8

Its not how I envisioned it. I find myself missing a lot, wasting shots, and not doing too many kills with it. Even with 100% commander, one 100% gunner and a 75% gunner it aims too slow and still too wide

Same here. My crew is all 100% and I also got the upgrade to 10% reload time which doesn't seem to do a damn thing. But then, none of the upgrades seem to do anything anyway...

The advantages the upgrades give you aren't huge so it's easy to miss the benefit they give you.

The upgraded Grille take a lot longer to get sighted in on a target even with an 80%+ gunner but the thing is a beast when it hits. I can actually engage in counter battery fire now and take out enemy arty without having to see them.

That happens to me sometimes when I play arty, I shoot and the someone hits me even though there's no enemies anywhere. I figured out other arties are watching the usual arty hiding spots for shots, and then firing where it came from. So now what I do is shoot and then drive forward or backward a bit since I'll have to wait so long to reload my accuracy circle will be small by the time I'm ready to shoot again.

Another thing I really hate about arty is the fact that no one defends. So now I just watch for where the biggest group is headed to and follow them a bit, so I don't end up left alone in a corner and killed by a baby tank.

That is funny.

For me, I have been finding no one scouts or goes forward past the halfway mark.

So much so that I bought a smaller tank to see how fun scouting can be.

I really hate how everyone is too chikcen to move. The heaviest tanks in the game hide from the smallest because they're too scared to get artied, even if the other team only has 1 arty.. god forbid. Buncha babies. But in few games where people actually grow a pair and fight, it's hella fun. And it always takes the other team off guard because they were expecting another campfest.

Whenever I play my heavy I usually start out saying "I'm gonna charge up the this way instead of hiding like a baby. Who wants to come?" I usually end up with 4 or 5 others coming along for the ride and even if we get blown to bits, it's a heluva lot more fun that sitting on my but staring at a rock for 10 minutes.

I primarilly play heavies these days, German heavies in particular, and their strength and advantage is the precision of their guns at range. As a result, I usually try to stay 300-400yds away from the closest enemy tank. Heavies are resiliant, but when you have 5-6 guns all firing away at you, even some of the heaviest tanks in the game go down in seconds. I have fun by playing smart and letting the lights and mediums find the enemy tanks while I cut them down at range. Once you have a flank under control, then you are able to push them hard, swing in and crush em...but you have to work them down enough to do so. Rushing can work as well, but most rushes just end up getting most of your tanks killed and leaves it wide open for the other side to crush the remaining forces.

If I'm playing light or medium, I try to act as the eyes for the heavies, TDs, and arty while inflicting as much damage as I can while not getting myself in too deep. If I'm overwhelmed, I'll disengage and find another route or wait for support.

In your base, ignoring your logic.

Saw a heavy get taken out by a swarm today, poor bugger took out 2 before the others took him out. My arty missing shots all over the place.

Speaking of which, I'm trying to increase my FPS. Managed 7 so I was wondering if anyone else is having low FPS issues or does my computer just suck?

Probably your computer, I usually run 45-90 fps but my computer is pretty built.

Was wondering about it, actually runs at about 3 FPS most of the time I can hit 7 though.

Any idea of any other settings I can reduce to help it run better? Already have everything at low or no, so I don't know if I can do anything else outside of getting a new computer.

On a side note I like the ability that the american tanks have to utilize the sniper spots in certain maps. Low turrets are a bane to hiding in bombed out buildings, a lot of high turrets for the US tanks.

Not to mention fantastic turrent armor and sloping. On the performance thing, I can't really help you I never dip below 30fps, but I'm on a fairly stout comp.
