I think everyone was just picking with you. Hopefully this five man PAGK will have a lot of bitz in it. Though I don't think anything can compare with that Space Wolves Troop package that came out. It would be nice to see another like that.

I appreciate the humor, but the original comment about April Fools still doesn't hold up. Since GW started doing those email product announcements a year or so ago they have never once canceled or postponed a major release to a different month after making such an announcement. Therefore, no one has ever "been bitten" by GW in that way.

while i would have preferred a 10 man box for the GK power armor guys, i'm ok with a 5 man set that can make 3 different units (effectively, tacticals/assault/devastators). i'm guessing we'll get two of each heavy weapon in the box. here's hoping that ALL the releases get pics in tomorrow's "what's new" section.

Back on topic, so does anyone know how close is the leaked codex to the official one? I saw this asked a few pages back. Someone said like 90% of the leaked codex is correct. Anyone have any insight on this?

I REALLY hope that 10% includes the Inquisitor retinues gaining the retinue rule if joined by an Inquisitor...

So, the first bit of news about what figures will be in the boxes and the prices and for the first time, in all the GK rumour stuff, Im actually disappointed.

Our main troops come in boxes of five and cost £20 each - that's ridiculous. I don't care how detailed they are because that's £80 quid for 20 men and that's too much. I really was hoping for a ten man box or a 5 man box at a cost of £15. Also, no Mordrak in the first wave? The coolest sounding HQ we get and he's not in the first wave! I'd much rather him than Crowe. So, if I want to field Mordrak, the only way to do it is with a conversion until they release him later, IF they release him at all.

I've just been so looking forward to the new GK and now I won't be able to afford nearly as many as I would like and the HQ I wanted the most won't be in the first wave. I was hoping to field a large (for GK standards) army of relatively basic troops. Now, to save money, I'll just field a small elite army pimped out with the best wargear which will probably play just like the current pure GK army does now, especially with how awesome the psycannons are and the pysbolt ammo on stormbolters. Shoot! Fall back. Shoot! Fall back. I just hope that the NFW still count as power weapons in the hands of terminators.

On a side note, if the leaked codex is right and you can give the whole squad psyammo for just 20 points, then if you take a 10 man squad you can give them all +1 str to their stormbolters for just 2 points per model!!!

I believe that was what Holycrusader27 was getting at. I mean I can get a 10 man Space Wolves Pack with 218 pieces for $37.25, but the Grey Knights Boxed 5 man Set is going to be $33.12? Ouch.

Problem 1 - Grey Knight players can only take 4 squads of Terminators.

Conclusion - Now we can see 11 units of GKTs to each player!

If the bitz content on the Grey Knights 5 man set is anywhere near what we saw in the Dark Angels Chapter Veteran box...there'll be a relatively easy way to make that $33.12 go a long way.

I'm just relieved I was expecting this and build half my army from parts already available that way I wont have to spend $500. I've got the LR, SR, a squad of GKT's and PAGK's so at least day one I'll be able to play and not break the bank...

I didn't think of that. Limited weapons would mean less weapon choices on the sprue and cheaper prices.

You guys are complaining too much about the price. Its cheaper than what Grey Knight players were paying I bet especially with all of those options. A psycannon toting power armor Grey Knight was 15$ US for a single model.

As for the troop price thing... Death Company/Sanguinary Guard/Devastators all fetch the same price for a 5 man box. The GK don't seem to have over-priced themselves above other marine ranges IMHO. It may not be ideal, but I figured people were used to it.

I reckon it's most like the recent Death Company box, which just happens to be exactly the same price and number of models.

Haven't seen the Death Company box's contents in person, I just remember the 5 man DA Chapter Veteran Box--and getting enough bits to make a full combat squad through creative bits usage

That can be said about a lot of things in the codexes. Melta and Plasma weaponry is also supposed to be very rare, for example, yet you see plenty of them on the table top.

Called the excessive pricing of grey knight troops long before today.

the issue with the comparison to the DA box, is that grey knights basic power armor is different than other space marines, so you cant just get a box or two and spread the bits out to many units nearly as easily.

Just giving me more reasons to go 3rd party IMHO

66 dollars for a 10 man squad is pretty high

Terminators are actually cheaper than vanilla terms though
