New page, list again Unfortunately not much has changed in the past few days Im having to pack everything up to move house so.....

(See page 10)

@DSS and Igandris: Yeah no simple green, i'll look into brown dettol.

@Izanagi: Yeah, techically the scheme is Legio Astorum, therefore AdMech already. But i will be painting it off-white with a red trim.

Thanks for looking,

Vitruvian

Another suggestion without actual experience backing it up: I heard good things about using brake fluid, but I have no idea whether it's better or faster than other methods.

I use Simple Green.

I have stripped everything from Nids to A SW Transport Block and the stuff works WONDERS. It just does nothing but work.

I will admit I have NOT tried it on FW Resin, but I did a lot of looking around and everything I hear says that it causes no problems.

Some suggestions on using it:

1) Most people say leave it in for 24 hours, and I always use 24+ as a bare minimum. Longest I've EVER left something is half an army of nids for about two weeks, and by the time I got around to scrubbing the paint off there was no scrubbing to be had. Paint essentially flaked off just from touch.

2) Though it says no harsh smell, it does have one, so use a sealed container, preferably one you don't mind smelling like simple green for the rest of your life. I use varying sizes of tupperware.

3) Don't be afraid to let something re-soak. Sometime, TRULY thick pain may need to be re-soaked so that the simple green can soak into the deepest regions. Also, along this same line you may need to empty out part or all of your mixture and add fresh simple green, because it get dark, thick, and nasty given some time to pull that paint off.

Hope this helps! I love using simple green, and I HIGHLY recommend at least trying it. It's helped me to strip 2 armies, and tons of models from Land Raiders, Rhino's, everything.

And on a personal note, I use locktite super glue to assembling my models, and when I've wanted to tear something apart, soaking it in simple green loosens the bonds of the glue fairly well as well. This is more of a personal opinion than an observable fact, but I feel it helps because when I tore apart a LRC, Most of the plastic was on the appropriate piece rather than huge sections torn and stuck in grooves.

Ok thanks for the input guys.

- Brake fluid softens the resin apparently, so thats out..
- Simple Green seems to be the way to go, will look into getting some online maybe.
- Brown Dettol or Fairy Power Spray are possibilities.

Again, thanks, will try it all and post progress.

Sorry to hear you have to move Vit, never a easy thing.
I used nail varnish remover on some metals and then scrubbed, i guess it might smage the resin though.

Best way to test is to clean up and paint up a spare resin chunk from one of the larger kits and test it on that!

Thanks Neil, its at a really unfortunate time as i'll be in Portugal on holiday visiting my Dad while everyone moves. Ive got to pack eveything and move it by next Sunday Gonna be weird leaving to go on holiday and coming back to a different house!

I use acetone-free nail varnish remover on plastic and metals (does soften the plastic slightly though), dont know why i didnt think to try that!

@DSS: Yeah, will do.

I've read about using Fairy power spray on plastic without any problems on a finnish WH forum. Should work with resin too.
I agree with DarkStarSabre. Do a test run with a piece of sprue or something.

You can get Simple Green in the UK now, they have a UK website and a UK distributor

It also appears that you can even get it delivered in Industrial 10kg sizes if you wanted to bath the thing in one piece

Well. That's new.

But at ÂŁ12 a bottle that's insane.

Much cheaper to get the brown dettol for ÂŁ3 which, from reviews works just as well!

@stonned_astrates: Yeah thanks! Its ios a very nice model, need a couple more really

@Igandris: I think ill have to try the Fairy, Test piece is a must aye. DOnt have any of the original Warhound resin offcuts though. Hmm, hope that doesnt prove a problem.

@Asylum and DSS: Yes that is new! Thanks for the link. Not sure, it is on the expensive side. How much is it for 1 litre of dettol? However, it seems to be the stripping agent of choice, so i may get it just beacuse of ease!

edit: After much (and i mean, much ) reading around the subject and a fair bit of consternation, im gonna go with traditional Dettol. Easiest to get hold of, cheapest and it weakens superglue, which is perfect given that i need to repose the titan PLus, i've always liked the smell

Thanks for all your help guys,

Vitruvian

Hey Dakka, finally got these 6 Electro-menials done, theyve been pip for a while Just one more and the priest then the unit is done! [list updated]

That last ones my favourite i think! Just strange but also kinda cute

If you're wondering what the silver lines on their bodies are, they're supposed to be electoos, circuitboard tattoos, that allow them to manipulate the electricity around them into focussed blasts or crackling fields around their melee weapons/hands.

Thanks for looking,

Thanks Neil Yeah, they were fun to paint

Done a fair bit of progress on the warlord. I started working on the torso, which has breathed new vigour into the build, so nice to be doing something different

Definitely, the whole point is you should feel equal amounts of awe and unease

and if you can make someone feel queasy then you should be painting zombies or nurgle lol

The paintjob is more on the simple side, but definitely solid. The looks of the lovely converted pack standing together all painted are great!

Hey all, made the turbo-lasers for the Warlord's carapace. Don't think i will be adding rivets to them, as i like the smooth look on these. The titan's torso itself is progressing nicely, will show pics when ive done a bit more.

On better news, I finished the Knight Warden! Bloody rivets and all. List updated.

On another note, dont ever accidentally put your whole hand in a pile of boiling Hot Glue. Severely hindered in the use of my left hand it hurts so much!
