Don't worry about the mono pose, take it as a challenge. With a bit of ingenuity you can make some great models from monopose sculpts. All you need is some tools like a hobby saw. And often these conversions will look better then those from a multipose kit because they will be so different.

I completely agree with this, I'm getting 3 Blightlord kits and ill be damned if monopose is going to keep me from making 3 unique squads

War Coven of the Coruscating Gaze ~3000pts

The trouble is some of the detail runs across parts, therefore even a simple reposing can require extensive reworking, and some people may not have the time, desire or ability (or any combination thereof) to do the necessary work. You also lose a tremendous amount of the instant plug and play modularity that many of the existing Marine kits benefit from.

None of these issues apply with a multi pose/part kit.

Preorders, next Saturday

Don’t worry, enemies of the Imperium, we haven’t forgotten about you – next week will also see four new models for the Death Guard! As well as Scribbus Wretch the Tallyman and Nauseus Rotbone the Plague Surgeon, you’ll be able to get your hands on the devastating Plaguecburst Crawler tank and the multi-part Foetid Bloat-drone kit.

As well as the plaguesprayers equipped by the Bloat-drone in Dark Imperium, the full kit contains some new weapons options – our favourite is the grisly flesh mower, which looks… well, exactly as you’d expect

All those models are really cool.

Why the feth don't the drones come in squadrons?

Yeah, the drones having a squadron like the haulers with +1 to hit would have really made fleshmowers and heavy blight launchers look a lot more attractive as options.

Love all of the models except the Tallyman, which doesn't scream to me. Very excited to get my hands on these and then (finally) the Plague Marines the following week.

They probably aren't in squadrons due to balance. FLY, plus auto hitting weaponry, speed, and DR might make them too good at tar-pitting....

Plague drones (the Daemon fly ones) are in 3s but much less powerful.

Woah. The tank actually looks MUCH better there. I actually like that. Still a little bitter about the loss of the Vindicator but that's growing on me.

Also, the retro 2nd ed CSM backpack on the Tallyman. That's a nice touch. He looks like he might be ridiculous flesh-pipe free as well.

sorry - it's minimal, but it's there...if you're talking about the pipes that look semi-fleshy?, then there's one coming out the middle of his chest...or if you were talking about tentacles, there's one holding his abacus

Don't forget the Blight-Haulers! I'm guessing they will be up for preorder same time as Plague Marines. Hoping that they will be in a kit of 3

Well that's ruined it. Still looks more salvageable than half the range.

Plague Surgeon seems....incredibly flat. I thought the whole point of plastic was to allow them to do more dynamic poses and the like? And yet this thing is flat. Like, bad 2nd ed special character static pose flat. Really not impressed with that. Guess it's time to just buy up 30k Apothecaries to use then.

Also, from playing the past few weekends...

The Blightspawn is the most stupid thing. Pro-tip - burn a CP to take a second relic. Slap Fugaris' Helm on the Blightspawn. Enjoy your 10 inch bubble of Anti-Charge. The 2d6 Strength Flamer with stupid damage and ap is hilarious as well.

I agree. The whole point of mono-pose is to allow positioning that wouldn't work with multi-posing (see the tallyman, for example) so when the pose is totally static like that... why not make the arm joint flat so players can position them as they want?

Expect this to be the standard for new kits. The whole Primaris range is similar, 2 or 3 variations of equipment in the unit but quite a few in the same pose.

I'm not sure I like the exposed faces on the Surgeon/Tallyman, I'm going to see if I can't take an extra plague marine helmet and put it on there.

And I might try to give the Surgeon one of the Blightlord baleswords since his looks like a glorified plague knife

Plague Marine kit, he's seen with the Champion

Also, I'm going to shamelessly ask for help with my Death Guard scheme

I think the helmeted one is part of the upcoming regular plague marine kit, which is really the kit I was most looking forward to. And likely the one with the most amount of customization options.

I actually don't mind the Plague Surgeon one, very sinister looking. The Tallyman however I'm definitely going to do a head swap.

I love the tallyman's model, but I do think a MK III helmet would look better.

I was thinking of even using one of the bare heads from the Blight Lords or eventual Plague Marine kits for a head swap for the Tallyman. I love the model as well but his face sculpt just puts me off - I think it may be the hood, it just doesn't suit the rest of the model IMO

Another good one would be the extra Death Shrod head that's a hood with chain mail covering the face

So they have the Gal Vorbak size. Fitting for the chaos chosen. But you can´t mix their squads with older (=smaller) models.

Has somebody clues on the prices of the drone and the crawler? The elites will surely go for the same as the foul blightspawn.

Gal Vorbak are a head and a half taller than terminators? I had no idea that was the case... still, aren't Gal Vorbak Posessed?
