Slight change of plan with the AAA mount, apathy has kicked in with regard to building a chair/gunner combo, so now there will be a rather desperate looking IG bod at full stretch, blatting away and putting holes in the sky . . .

Man Ash! You really have a good eye for where to highlight your paint chips to give them a peeling/3D effect. Just one side right? I always paint too much and ruin the look.

That AA platform with the rivets and treadplate..where is that from?

I've tried a couple of ways to do chips that have produced quite realistic effects. 1) paint the shape of chip in a lighter colour (gives the effect of reveled undercoat) then paint in a brown/black mix (looks like oxidised steel plate) add metallic to taste. 2) paint in the chip/scrape with the black/brown, then paint a thin line of a lighter colour around the bottom half and a thin line of black around the top half.

The AAA mount is made up of Forge World quad stubber from a Sabre platform; base piece from an Imperial Bastion (had three legs that I removed, then added tread plate to cover the damage); the top plate is a piece of plasticard treadplate with another piece of plasticard on top to hold the gun mount, so it sort of still swivels . . .

AHA! You add a thin line of black for shadow! I see! THanks man! The platform looks like a master I made and had Galorn make a mold for.

Been following along daily but haven't posted in a bit because all my compliments are the same (running out of appropriate adjectives) and I wish I had something more pertinent / productive to add. I will say that I'm getting ready to try the "chipped paint effect" process you shared with me quite a while back (regarding the Pegasus Hobbies bridge you showed).

That said, I always appreciate the work you share. You are an inspiration.

The colours are from the Tamiya TS range, TS-61 NATO green & TS-46 Light sand.

I've never been keen on the old paint job on this lot (don't fit in with anything else) and as I'm out of IG troops to paint, I feel a change of uniforms is in order . . .

Stripping clean or different detail?
