The lack of foreknowledge on prices is a bit of a bummer, spesh as I'm doing another Loot Run that weekend.
I mean, Character Series aren't too bad, as one can make an educated guess going on previous releases (Amon was £30, therefore the next one will likely be £30 too.
But Dreads and up in size? Who knows. I was surprised the Telemon was £72 complete, and there were many online who thought I'd got it wrong - and fair enough on that count!
Fed up of Scalpers? But still want your Exclusives? Why not join us?
I would not expect too much new stuff being presented there ... if I remember the last Open Day was really uninteresting. They are not advertising showing new never seen before miniatures, so ...

Really sucks that they're not planning to port the Custodes and Sisters of Silence stuff from 30k over - no fluff reason it shouldn't still be around (that I know of) and the models are awesome, but I don't want to play Horus Heresy :(

Yeah, I have a sizeable Custodes force. Even if all they did was the Dreadnoughts and the Terminators I'd be happy. The Grav tanks, jet bikes, and bolter guys would be great too. I'm sure players would be happy even if they were 0-1 choices. Does FW just not like to sell more models?

They are glorious! Can't wait to see what the full kit looks like with the various weapon options.
Custodes Terminators are the things I've been waiting for since they announced they were doing Custodes. That and a Grav-Rhino, but I doubt we're getting that.
These are way cooler though and they look exactly like they should.

Dakka does have White Knights and is also rather infamous for it's Black Knights. A new edition brings out the passionate and not all of them are good at expressing themselves in written form. There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

These indeed are great models. I just do not want to paint so much gold again. I am thinking about using a very dark red for the armor. There was a picture in Inferno showing Custodes with a black armor ... that would be a little too dark for my taste, but at least the fluff makes it possible to not go full gold all the time ...

What are you picturing when you say "grav rhino" exactly? Because they have a bunch of hover-tanks including a transport and the spiritual successor to the legendary Grav-Attack tank already…. Are we talking a literal rhino with anti-gravity pads instead of tracks? I seriously doubt that is a thing that will happen.

Have you never seen the Grav Rhino from the Visions of Heresy art books?

Try taking a look at how many custodes and SoS models there, or units in Inferno, and then realise that almost none of them have rules for 40K.
Both factions were completely gutted during the HH, with the SoS actually abandoning the Imperium (some return during the Beast War, and Gulliman has started re-building them in Dark Imperium). We don't know how much of their equipment survived.

This, as nice as the FW vehicles are, there not these. The Terminators look great, wondering what other weapons options will be in the kit, not sold by the heavy flamer.
it's the quiet ones you have to look out for. Their the ones that change the world, the loud ones just take the credit for it.

I guess I might have seen it in passing but never really processed it? Pretty much a rhino with grav plates for tracks, like I thought.
Compared to the Coronus or Kharon it seems boring enough that maybe no-one at Forge World wanted to sculpt it?

Maybe boring to you chief - for a lot of folk SoS/Custodes(since they seem to be making them into a sort of joint thingy now) without grav-Rhinos is like Space Marines without, you know, Rhinos.
Hell the only thing I like about the new Primaris tank is how easy it will be to convert it into a grav-Raider for Heresy.
I say this by the way as someone who really likes the Acquisitor: I preferred when what helped distinguish Custodes(and the Inquisition, Sisters, et al) was that they got the non-crap versions of STC vehicles, rather than every single faction getting their own wee special set of brand new designs.

I know what you mean. We'll probably see something at some point, but the design and idea is so uninspired. Oh wow, an antigrav rhino.

It's charming in its badness. The blocky simplicity would make for great contrast alongisde the super ornate soldiers on the tabletop.

On the Codex FAQ, they confirm FW will be showing rules for their models in upcoming books and wont be in GW codex's. Maybe explains why we didn't see FoC last month since the Red Scorpions at least will have their own rules and chapter tactics, but wouldve been a bit weird having the book last month with all these new rules for a chapter all on their own, not to mention whatever the Tau and AM forces get.

His statement was he can't play custodes in 40k. It's not true. That is all.
No, his statement was that they're not porting over the 30K stuff.

Just getting into semantics now. Let's move on before this gets ugly. Back onto topic: Does anyone know if Custodes are included in the new SM codex yet?

I'm curious of the scale of the Custodes terminators. They look very reminiscent of the Cataphractii terminators, but I'm assuming they're much scaled up to their Custodes brethren?
