Anyone have any superstitions about your wargaming? Like, the more detailed the model is, the better it seems to do in battle. Or, allowing someone else to use your dice is bad luck...
For me, listening to death metal during a game seems to bring me luck.

My friend was running his new SAG. He was completely surrounded, about to get wiped out. There was some other extenuating circumstance, I can't wuite remember what it was. I think we had to pack up because my ride was about to show up.
Anyway, he insisted on taking his last shot with the SAG. He then said "the only way this could possibly matter is if I roll double sixes).
He then said "Wow... that role just brought me a little bit closer to believing in god."
I suppose thats not really a warhammer superstition...but it seemed to fit.

In a Society in which there is no law, and in theory no compulsion, the only arbiter of behaviour is public opinion. But public opinion, because of the tremendous urge to conformity in gregarious animals, is less tolerant than any system of law. When human beings are governed by "thou shalt not", the individual can practise a certain amount of eccentricity: when they are supposedly governed by "love" or "reason", he is under continuous pressure to make him behave and think in exactly the same way as everyone else.

You just don't do it. Some players are happy to share their dice, then there are players like myself who hoard them and won't even touch their opponent's dice. There's an old gaming adage: "Touching another man's dice is like touching his balls." While I don't take it quite that seriously, the message is the same. That's my main superstition though.

Blood bowl is a harsh mistress. Rolling a chain of 3+ doges is easy. Pulling plays out from behind your ear, routne. Making that one 2+ doge (with re-rolls) nigh impossible.
Warhammer, making you belive in the dice gods since 1983.
Other gamers around me have their own little rituals, including one ork player who has one blue dice, (for important rolls, Blue is Luckeist!) two red dice (for difficult terrain and running, Da Red Ones Go Fasta!) and [saruman]tens of thousands[/saruman] of green dice (Green Iz Best!). A chaos player I know still runs his units in their gods' sacred number, even though it no longer does anything.
Reading incantations and invocations from the Imperial Infantryman's Uplifting Primer is an old standby as well.

When rolling for exorcist missiles , I always either get 5 or 6, and then they all normally (after last game i'm not so sure...) hit , every time I get one person standing from a unit, they don't seem to die (does anyone else have that)...also when i play a game and one of my specialist units do really well, and I tell my friends (who then ask to verse me too see if this is true) then they die first turn, from something stupid, like going off the table edge or a misplaced shot by me...

What are missile launchers? All my Space Marines are armed with ROCKET launchers. No idea what you're talking about
Multimeltas can't hit anything. Ever. I had one game where my dreadnought-mounted multimelta hit and wounded a carnifex every turn, but in the other 20 or so games I've used it it's never hit a thing.

Some funny ones in this thread.
When I was starting out I proxied a IG squad as an SM Tac Squad. Weapons were all WYSIWYG, boltguns/lasguns aside. Whenever I rolled their armor saves, I cannot remember the save ever being a 3 or a 4. They either got a 5 or a 6, (which would save a Guardsmen) or failed with a 1 or 2.)

The dice are telling you to stay away from the SPESS MEHREENS.
I melt the dice that either roll double sixes on scatter, aswell as if I roll a 2d6, say for a leadership test, and get double sixes, then I melt them.

This is really just asking for it. That's like saying 'this couldn't possibly get any worse' if you find yourself in a horror movie.
I made this mistake when playing SWRPG a couple months ago. Rolled 6 twos in a row on my 20-sided die, then I said 'anything but a two' and rolled a one instead. It broke me, I couldn't stop laughing in that kind of desperate, insane way for several minutes.

I agree with you so much. I currently have 4 DL in my list, and out of about 6 games they have killed 4 models. Total. Between all of them.
They've also failed to even hit a vehicle yet.

Autocannons! I HATE AUTOCANNONS! GRAAAAWGH!
Lascannons, however, love me more than any women ever could. My Las-Pred has yet to fail in killing every target I put it against in every game I've played it. Landraiders, Leman Russes, Trukks, its all the same to him. The same is true for just about any other Lascannon wielding model I field. However, as soon as I put an Autocannon in their hands, there goes the luck. Out the window! By-by!
Oh, and my Possessed always roll Power Weapons against Imperial Guard. I don't know why. The only match it won't help, where literally anything is more powerful and they give me the bird.

I have 4 Lascannon teams spread out throughout my IG army. They are each modeled differently enough to tell them apart. 3 of them do diddly squat, but one, just one them, is fething awesome. Landraiders, Monoliths, Special Characeters and even (on one rare occasion) an Apco Flyer! (Okay, so I rolled three dice for the Heavy Weapons team on that one and got re-rolls. I still think it was HIM who hit it! )

We have a few in my gaming group;
1. "Anything but a 1!" will inevitably lead to a roll of 1.
2. Always Rocket Launchers, never MISSile Launchers.
3. Calling out "ROLL LOW!!" or similar during an opponents rolls is a big NO NO.

The closer you are to something the less likely you are to hit. My Baneblade will always die to the worst weapon in a sqaud never the meltagun always the autocannon. If it does well in a game then after said game something will happen afterwards to break the weapon once a coffee cup fell on one model who had done exceptionally well that day inside, on a flat surface and with noone near it and its only ever the weapon that breaks.
