We've all seen from the many threads on many sites and statistics floating around the interwebs that the most popular army is Space Marines.

What I want to know is what's your favorite army to go up against and why?

For example I love fighting Orks because even if I lose I still might die from laughter.

and if I wasn't in such love with the Imperial fluff I would probably play Orks.

Space marines.

No matter how many times a I play against such an army, win or lose, I always here the same thing after I crush a powerful unit with Guard or chaos.

I love playing against daemons as I like the deployment set-up. I like the challenge.

Any army that ISN'T an MEQ. Just becuase it's such a novelty to play against it.

Space Wolves. Dark Angels or Thousand sons, it's always good for a chuckle.

With my Guard, I love playing Orks or other guard. With my Space Puppies, anything but Orks or Guard.

Tzeench or any of the specialist loyalist marine armies.

Although Plague marines vs crons is a very long game.

As a DA player, Space Puppies.

With this new Codex, the space puppies have been beating me often than not, but I can still burninate their face every once and awhile. Once you've played the 3 long fangs missile spam enough, you learn how to beat it.

SM and orks. Its fun to watch orks die (on both sides of the battlefeild) and marines cause they are a worthy enough opponent to crush under my heel.

I like playing against orks, SW, and SoB. Orks because always good for a laugh. SW because its always a close fight when i play my 1k sons against them. SoB for the same reason as SW.

Vanilla Marines cause they're so easy to beat. Plus it's always great to watch Logan Grimnar crush the leaders of other Chapters, killed Vulkan last weekend and crushed Marneus Calgar taking all his wounds in one round of combat.

Orks and Tyranids.

Because nothing makes for more epic battles than Guard against those two.

CSM, because as a Guard player I love the underdog battle that I have to go through. When I lose I'm not that angry about it but when I win I get the best feeling that the Guard can acctually win against Chaos.

Anything but a kroot army list. I still fell dump when kroots took out my vindi. Atleast it blew up and took a few with it.

I love the challenge of vsing horde nids, its so fun doing last stands and thing against a hoard of crazy aliens with a heavy flamer and then running into them and actually winning combat with the luck of the dice!

Guardsmen definitely. Always worth it to see them all die at the hands of my eldar jetbikes. Even more fun when Checknov? is being used to see all the conscripts just come leaping back for more killing. With Tau is more fun against smurfs as its fun to remove their commander on the first turn with my broadsides

Eldar, cause it's so much fun to watch my IG tear them apart in hth, in spite of their fancy jetbikes or Scorpions or Banshees or Seer Councils on bikes................ Course, that might be because so few of them live to actually get into hth.

I always enjoy taking down space marines. Where I play theres too many people who act like space marines are the only 40k army worth looking at. Once I finish my hive fleet kraken army I get to do it again but with nids.

As a tyranid player, I love playing any army that has lots of infantry. Necrons, for one, and orks are another. nomnomnomnomnom

I play orks. My favorite army to play against is orks.

We run at each other, and then just as we're about to clash in the middle, we join forces and turn on everyone else in the store bwah ha ha...l.

IG, I generally play GK so I have a small specialised army whilst they have hundreds of men running around in chaos, I like to see my enemy's face when he finds has 20 odd storm bolters coming at him, then S6 nemesis force weapons in combat then because I am in combat he can't shoot, win combat in his turn, they die or run, and I move on again.

They get very annoyed.

My favorite opponant is probably Tau. I run an ork footslogging list. "Run as many Railguns as you like, they'll still only kill 1 model a turn".

I like killing me some orks.

My zerkers and khorne lord w/ dae weap chop the Space Monkeys to peices.

Plus there's always plenty to kill.

I also enjoy slaying crons.
Phase out is like the most awesome rule ever!!!

SM are the most rewarding kills for me, for they always give me a challenge

I run Chaos Marines, and hands down my favourite opponent has to be my buddy's 'Nids. The titanic duels between my buddy's Tyrant and my Great Unclean One are unreasonable. Nothing else in either of our lists can quite stand up to our champions, so whoever wins that fight gets a victory slaughter.
