Its so wierd to hear you guys talking about being unable to prime in the cold, I just spent the afternoon painting a baby's crib in 32 degree heat (celcius!) while my little girl sprayed me with her water gun from the paddle pool....thats a good girl!

I'll be honest... I primed in the winter when I lived in apartments too... just never thought about it.

I am so unhappy with you right now blackhand. I was excited today that my local meijer finally got a new shipment of salt and I managed to get a hold of some to thaw my drive way meanwhile on the other side of the world you were playing in a paddle pool, how unfair.

Congrats on 100 pages, by the way.

BLACKHAND...... You make me weep.
I curse this icy weather.... no painting at all unless you either stockpile primed models, or devise an elaborate scheme of spraypainting indoors....
Protip- HOLYCRAPLOTS of overspray. dust will get EVERYWHERE if you spray inside. Say, for example, a white-tiled and furnished bathroom.

And WHOO!!! 100 Gitsplittastic Pages!!!

Guys, just get a large old box, cut it in half on the diagonal, and you have an instant spray booth. No over-spray... problem solved. Then all you have to worry about are particulates in the air. My airbrush spray booth is exactly that. Works perfectly well.

And thanks for the milestone... though I'm thinking some folsk were posting just to get me here. Well, on to the next 100!

nope. the OT thread "WAR!" currently holds the record at over 200 pages, though "beat this unit" is gaining on it. There have also been mentions of a uber-long thread in the DCM forum...

LOL! Yeah... don't even go there (739 pages and climbing). I'd like to think that this blog has the most consistent high quality over time thing going for it. It certainly has one of the most involved group of participants... that's why it's so big... it isn't just me showing off what I've done. There are tons of reader generated original content posts throughout! That's also what makes good. It would be a lot less interesting if it was just my stuff... but it's OUR stuff, with our various talents and stills, all organized loosely around a general principal (the Mantis Warrior concept).

So contratulations to us all, we made it to the century mark and in spite of BBL... did it with some useful content!! (poke, poke)

"Barkeeper, Canfields for everyone!"

(Mr. Magoo/Jim Bacchus reference for those of you too young to know.)

Back on topic...

I'm not sure what my goal for the day will be... Thing 2 is coming off a long punishment for misbehavior in school and I promised I'd work on his Warrior squad with him. I think going in and picking out all the metal parts in black would be an achievable mark to reach.

Your implication that that DCM thread is not high quality is baffling to me...

...become a DCM

If the only reason to become a DCM is finding out what this long, long thread is about, then it's most probably not worth your 25 bucks...

Just saying...

Just saying if they really want to find out, that's the easiest way, lol.

That was going to be my point... it's easy to find out what's on that thread... just become a DCM!

Made good progress on Thing 2's tyranid warriors yesterday. 4 are done, last 3 about half-way done. Might make a little more progress yet today but I have a lot to do so probably not too much. Worked a bit on Thing 1's Nightbringer too.

Dread project will resume tomorrow.

Hey, Gits, are you having any difficulty keeping Thing1's nightbringer together? Have you found it necessary to pin him at the waist?
