Have you ever had a mini that no matter what you do, what you try, how many times you've done it, you just can't make the paint job work?
Either the colour scheme is off, or the paint doesn't take or it came out to thin, too globby, all the above?
thank god for nail polish remover and paint brushes!

I got the Hector Rex model about this time last year, and have spend many, many hours trying to find a good paint scheme for him. Last week, I decided to strip the model and try again, so I applied paint stripper, and slowly the resin melted...I had used the wrong stripper...

This sometimes happens when I tackle big fancy or elaborate models. I made several attempts on a couple larger-scale Sophie models from Reaper before giving up and trading them, and my attempts at an Eldar Avatar and a couple old Harlequins were less than successful.

I tend to over paint. I think I am done then the next day I look at it and I think. I will just add some_blank_ before I know it my girlfriend says I have added to much. This happens far to often.

Ayup!

The first FlashGit I made, I made the coat from paper to test an idea out. It worked well enough, and everything else turned out nice, but that damn coat was just TOO PLAIN TO PAINT!!!!!!!

Ive since fixed that problem with the others Ive done, but the first one will continue to be one of those

this happens to me all the time...
i have quite a collection of half-painted minis...
sometimes, finishing a certain mini is more painful than bangin' my head against a brick wall...

i always say i will go back and finish 'em sooner or later, but never do...

the best is when you get a mini that paints itself, but that's a very rare occasion...

cheers
jah

When that happens, you know it's time to get rid of the Cat.

Well, I guess I've never been able to get Cypher right. My DA Green is a little more than a heavy wash (REALLY thin), so I can't even use it for anything. I'm not sure if all DA Green is like this, but it's a real let-down. I thought it would be "Blood Red" thickness. You can't paint entire power armors with a wash, unless you're more patient than me

When I played tau, it took me for ever to find a good scheme for my kroot, now I am working on a sisters of battle force, and it has taken me about 2 months a six minis to find a scheme that looks right to me.
