Stress relief for an Ork Big Mek

It'll have an LED Gaze 'O Mork, Chest spotlight, Steam Engine, and possibly control panels in the head....

Whew, finished wiring the head, which was extremely difficult because of lack of space. Enjoy!

Well, I figured out the basic shape and detailing for the Stompa...I'm taking a design inspired by a "supa-sekret" sci-fi show I watch a lot of. Still need to mount the arms and gubbin-ize it a bit more...

Enjoy these teaser pics!

The battery is placed behind the Chimera hatch on this side. The hatch is removable and the battery sits in a cradle, so I can change it out if necessary.

Still trying to figure out what's missing from the main smokestack...hmmmm....

Da lookout grot - I figured a "Supa Hi-Tek" Stompa like this needed something a bit more advanced than flags and such...

"EKS-TER-MIN-ATE!!!"

My Dalek-inspired LED Mek Stompa's finally complete...I may re-do the head in the future to be more Dalek-like (basing it off the actual GW model's head), but would only do so if I work on another Stompa that I could transfer the current head too. This Stompa is about 70% scratchbuilt and 20% GW, with the remainder being comprised of a Tamiya KV2 tank kit.

The head - unfortunately, I can't get a shot of the interior (which is also lit) so you could see the Ork driver and his asst. Grot Oiler

AWESOME!
Could you take a shot of it with some wagons/boyz near it for size comparison?
That eye is great, the battery hatch is quite cool too =]
Oh and you did the colour of the dalek-lumps very well, shame people don't realise how hard lots of gold is to paint well until they've tried it ^^
Mebbe a couple more orks/grots on the stompas shoulders would make it even more awesome/characterful?

Yes, I'll have some in-game shots from this weekend's Apoc game next week - stay tuned!

I left both shoulders empty so I could stand the embarked squad leaders there....KFF Big Mek???

Such an awesome model. I really like the Dalek-esque bumbs on the outer shell. Brilliant work.

Great work. Your vehicles were nice, but the Stompa takes the cake!

Your Kommandos are pretty awesome too. Every single one is full of details. Love it.

amazing conversion work honestly. My only simi gripe is that the skin looks a little bright/cartoony but overall Love the work and look forward to seeing more.

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House!

I just love watching this army progress. Really awesome work on the Stompa, I especially like the hiding photo from the battle report where all you can see is the eye. Can't wait to see more.

Neat conversions. I especially like the sniper, but the Ninja's cool too. The KFF looks great.

Your painting is solid, but since you're going for a kommando force anyway, try painting the entire mini with devlan mud. It'll look much better, trust me.

Been working like a madman lately as I'm fast approaching the total completion of my Ork army...the only things I have left are 1 Biker Nob, 3 Kannonz, (painting) the Nobz, maybe a small unit of Gitz, and these 2...

Hopefully this isn't threadmancy as you posted a link here from another project blog...

I see that I have commented before - and while I don't remember most of it (so its been fun reading through it again) - I must add that the conversion work is excellent! I must have subconsciously taken something in though - my Trukks seem in some part inspired by your masterpieces!

Any final army shot or even just those last few elements?

No worries, here's a shot of the army together from last year. I haven't done much with it recently.

There are more pics over on my showcase blog.
