We really will complain about anything won't we! I think it makes more sense this way, but whatever. I like that the forum is always changing and trying new stuff.

Maybe it has something to do with the massive number of Polls that somehow appeared to merit their own section?

But yes, I like 40k Discussions at the top of the 40k forums

These are the reasons I did it:

1) So the 40K and WHFB forum structure is roughly similar.
2) So newer posters don't just dump their 40K threads into the general forum without reading what the other 40K forums are first (as they'll naturally read the top ones first before getting to the general forum last).


If everyone hates the idea I'm fine with moving it back to the top of the forum list, but if so then I'll move the Fantasy version of the general forums up to the top of that section for consistency.

Yes, we just renamed the 'WHFB background' forum into a general discussion and background forum since the WHFB background forum wasn't getting that much traffic and a few people wanted a general WHFB forum.

If you want to avoid people dumping threads in the general discussion forum, you could always line them up side by side instead of listing them (not sure if that's actually possible given the forum software). Right now I think it's a little irksome that the Army List forum is at the top of the list, as that reinforces the popular misconception that the game is about lists, rather than tactics.

Something else you might consider is making a general proposed rules forum, so that players from different games get to cross-pollinate ideas from different systems.

I like to imagine all the mods of dakka live in a hole in the ground like a hobbit and have small ceiling and constantly bicker over who gets the cheese.

Seconded that collapable sections would be nice, now that we have so many Forums.

Personally, I like general at the top - otherwise, why not move Dakka General to the bottom with OT?

It scared me at first. Still, it would help disperse the threads that just end up on General because they didn't look (like the one about Tzeentch Sorcerers or DPs using two powers that is on right now, it should be in YMDC).

I vote to change it back. I totally missed seeing it, but then I saw HBMC had posted in a forum and I never miss what he has to say, and then saw it( 40KGD) was here.
