Thousand Sons, all the way. They can use the Force, in the eyes of a Star Wars fan, and are blue, in the eyes of someone who likes blue.

Night Lords are sweet, too, but early or pre-heresy only. According to Lord of the Night, at least. I love the idea of weaponizing fear itself.

But im pretty sure only living creatures could use the force. take general Grevious for example. he was unable to use the force because he was a machine/cyborg, etc. As for the Thousand Sons, theyre more of possessed suits of armour than anything. but thats just me. cool concept though

I love the fact that the Emperor's Children abandoned the siege of the Imperial Palace on Terra because it bored them and instead ran away and went on a massive civilian butchering orgy. Having your planet overrun by the Emperor's Children would surely be one of the worst possible fates in this universe, which is saying a hell of a lot.

Soul Hunter and The Dark King made me really appreciate the Night Lords as a quite nuanced legion with good reasons for having gone off the deep end. I also enjoyed the character who was falling to Khorne and before every battle became incoherent and started frothing at the mouth.

I love everything about the Alpha Legion, especially the part where we know virtually nothing about them, and everything we do know is heavily signposted as almost certainly being untrue. I like that Alpharius/Omegon just kind of turned up without telling anyone where his/their homeworld was (anyone reckon he/they had been kicking around for some time before he/they revealed himself/themselves?). I love that if you actually see the Alpha Legion on the battlefield it means they've probably been in-theatre for months pulling everyone's strings.

I love that the Word Bearers had daemonic scriptures tattooed on their skulls back when Horus was a loyal servant of the Emperor.

I hate the Black Legion because they have none of the personality of the above legions, which is why I have no interest whatsoever in the current codex.

I play black legion just because it covers all the bases really you can have pretty much whatever units you want and it still keeps the army sort of fluffy. World Eaters at heart though. MAIM! KILL! BURN! MAIM! KILL! BURN! MAIM! KILL! BURN! MAIM! KILL! BURN! MAIM! KILL! BURN! MAIM! KILL! BURN! MAIM! KILL! BURN!

Well, I'm thinking Pre-heresy Thousand Sons, and the remaining Sorcerer's that aren't tin men.

I went with Iron Warriors, the industrial metallic colour scheme is awesome and I just think the Warsmith model looks fantastic.

Perhaps,if you read the current codex, and then compare it to previous CSM codices, your opinion may change.
