I have been looking at doing DE for a while now, probably about a year ago to be my alternate army to my orks. All the rumors made me wait it out though and now I am very glad I did.

I am very impressed by the models and thought about it. Then I realized that it costs money and I don't make a lot of money, and homecoming is coming up, and I have other armies I'm working on and that I don't play enough to have 4 armies. So it's not going to work for me to start the bondage elfs

...Possibly. I already have a teeny DE force, but if they're everywhere then I won't bother. Yeah, I'm antisocial .

I won't be jumping on the band wagon, but I can see myself making a Dark Eldar army in a year or so. I know of at least 5 people at my local GW who will be leaping on the bandwagon though. So in my area the DE should be a success.

I'm a big fan of the new models. They look fantastic. I'm not sure if I'll jump on the bandwagon or not, I've got three other armies in various levels of completion. I may buy more into the hype though... Or I may just suck it up and gather up 1,500 points or so.

Either way, I'm eagerly awaiting updates.

I just started an Adeptus Mechanicus army (thanks to the fine folks at MicroArt Studios) and I still have several squads for the start of my Crusading Marines ('Counts As' Black Temparls) to build.

I can see myself getting a box of Wyches to make Techno-Gladiators for Dark Heresy, but that's about it.

Busy somewhere, airin' out the skin jobs.

Shamelessly joining the ranks of the Dark Eldar. Been considering a new space marine army for a long time, but the look of these models has me on board.

....besides, with the same paint scheme...they'll look cool matched up with my Fantasy Dark Elves.

I highly doubt I'm going to play them but I sure as hell am getting some wyches and Lelith Hesperax to paint.

Not only am I going to jump on this bandwagon so hard it'll snap in half under my weight, I'm also going to break my "no named characters ever for any reason" policy and buy Lelith Hesperax. If nothing else, just to paint, but I may field her.

(And yes, I have six armies, and zero named characters. )

If the rules are cool then maybe. I love the models. i think it is the best sculpts that GW has ever released. Models can break any chance of starting an army for me but they can never, alone, make that decision.

Count me in on the Bandraider, but wait! I can expalin!

So I was really, really considering getting DE about a year ago, and I even ordered the codex and a battleforce. (I don't know of any stores that sell them, not even our very own battlebunker) When the models came, my eyes melted and I was blinded for a week by the ugly models. Due to my lack of commitment, I promised noone in particular that I would buy a DE force when they got a new book (kinda a joke at the time) So yeah, bandwagon all the way.

6000 points IG, Leviathins 8th company, (store regiment) 60% painted
4500 points Empire 80-90% painted!
2500 Ogres 2% painted
WIP Biker Battle Company 95% painted
2500 Points Isstavan Drop site massacre Iron Hands (still waiting for dat codex)
I managed to play a 1750 point game with minimal proxieing on the first day DE came out. go me!

in the box: , 8 glade riders, , one female spellsinger, Orion, Ariel, the faerie queen. SOB immolator, 15 sisters.

EVERYBODY knows. (or SHOULD know) that when a new codex comes out there will be a massive influx of players jumping onto the wagon. It's because the newest codex usually has some juicy stuff in it that makes a mockery of the other races previous to it (in some cases at-least). And people want a piece of this, ofcourse theres people who just want something new because their current army is old and boring suddenly (I kid, sorry to those who take it srsly).

to answer your question. No I won't jump into the wagon just because its a new codex and now that said codex will rape mine profusely due to new rules that counter mine.

I'm teetering on that edge, man. I just got a big ol' box of Tyranids alongside my unfinished Iron Warriors and Warriors of Chaos armies, so I think it's probably in my best interests to wait it out for a while.

Of course, come November and Christmas-list time, lord knows how bad/awesome my judgment will be.

I will not be raider-jumping/ensnared upon their slave chains/scaling nets.

I have no wish to start a DE army. Although I can see myself buying several of the kits/boxes purely to add differences to my existing CRAFTWORLD Eldar army.

The new Reavers will make kickass rides for jetbike characters.
Wych bits will see use in Guardian storm squads.

The Raider will possibly join the other vehicles for armies I don't collect in the display cabinet (I don't play Tau, Orks or Necrons either, but have both a hammerhead, a Trukk AND a monolith purely because I like the models).

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).

Well I used to play them for a long time but sold them as I never got them painted (and TBH thought they were squatted)

However as hell has officially frozen over I might just pick them up again. The minis are awesome. Wouldn't be keen if the incubi are metal though.

Codex will be the first stop.

I gotta admit the new DE models look AWESOME (except for the witch character, IMHO she looks like she was a he that just had a part of it's manhood cut off after many years of confusion) and I'm glad they've finally been done some justice after so long. That being said I'm not going to be playing Dark Eldar any time in the forseable future, it is very tempting to do some kit bashing between the DE and DE from fantasy but I'll probably just get the codex so I can read up on their rules, fluff and have a visual source of models for future conversions.

Regardless of what the rules are I'll be pre-ordering next week just because the models are awesome and suddenly I'm bored of painting blue power armour (I actually never thought that would happen), so the Smurfs will have to sit back and watch for a while, as I build my first complete evil army (I've got bits of most armies but they temd to never get finished/the codex changes and invalidates what I've got already)

I've been starting them all year >_>

Everytime I have significant money to start properly something more pressing has come up.

I do however, have a haemy, a jetbike without the rider, and a Archon conversion using Yriel

It'll depend on how the codex itself turns out. The models are great but the ones I really love are the jetbikes. If I can do a reaver heavy list and not shoot myself in the foot, then I'll almost certainly jump on it.
