Isn't one of the Primarchs meant to be captured and held in Commoragh?

Pretty sure if he cant pull off an escape, your bog standard marine might struggle

Supposed to be Jaghatai Khan after he tried to follow some Dark Eldar through a warp rift ... not the bestest of ideas

They would probably try and escape or kill as many enemies as possible before being overwhelmed. If they were being questioned though, they may commit suicide rather than give answers to the enemy.

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

Indeed it is and I think it's also a great interpretation Huron. I prefer it to the version of him in Skull Harvest, he doesn't appear quite as mad or sadistic in that.

Here's the link to the story for those who might be interested

There's a story in Legend of the Space Marines called The Returned about a Doom Eagle who was captured and managed to escape and also Apothecary's Honour where an Avenging Son Apothecary is captured and dissected by a World Eaters apothecary, seems they had a lot to talk about during the procedure and exchanged tips ...

I remeber the Avenging sons apothecary but wan't it Fabius Bile trying to steal gene-seed?

The Dark Angels are the kings of torture, seeing as they spend most of their off time toturing the fallen till they confess their sins, so i'm sure they are taught to resist torture as well as give it. Due to the physiology of a SM it would require alot to break one, they would most likely wait it out till they can rip a large piece of flesh off their captor. If they can get off the xeno/rebel/chaos world they will so they can get to an imperial ship/world and contact the chapter, if not they will go rambo and kill as many as possible.

The most supreme torture for an SM would be to get captured by the Tau and be treated with respect, consideration and all the honours of war, until he could be exchanged for prisoners of the IoM.

Heh. I bet most Space Marine chapters maintain pretty hardcore SERE programs.

I think so long as the Space Marine has one battle brother in the prison, they would actively try to incite revolt and then escape.

Ouch.

That story always creeped me out. At least he went insane within seconds of figuring out what had been done to him. At least then he wouldn't have to understand how long eternity is.

Unless your a chaos marine, I don't think you can safely capture a space marine alive, they're not exactly the easiest people to subdue.

Well one thing I believe is that the SM have been captured before we just never hear of them except for Lysander, Uriel, Justicar Alaric all were captured and escaped.
But what about the average joe?
Well they usually fought their way out just like those famous Space Marines.
A Space marine would just go into a coma, but if it was a Iron Warriors guy. Ehh. You would be held until they tortured the hell out of you.
Don't forget Alaric almost gave up! He almost gave in!

well it's pretty safe to assume that regardless of the chapter, any captured space marine would try to escape or die in the attempt. All the fluff seems to point towards this, the only exceptions I can see to this would be say if the marine was interred in a dreadnought sarcophagus (as in the story about the marine who tried to infiltrate the red corsairs), or if he was somehow driven insane or fell to the lure of chaos. That seems to pretty much cover all the bases. I doubt that unless you're able to corrupt the very fiber of their beliefs, like chaos seems able to do, they're going to resist and try to escape.
