It is a cool idea, and you probably have done as best anyone could given the pose of the model. If you do another one, try actually mounting the model off the ground, on top of 3 to 5mm of flame. It should make what you are trying to achieve more obvious.

Oddly enough I was thinking of something along those lines, using the grots I already have and just making a few special characters so I can field a small one if I choose. Would probably go with a Warboss like yours.

does anyone else think it would make sence to have shoota grots because t4 grots seems odd but if i put a sheild thing infront of the models dp you think it would explain it ?

Like where the model is going. The bionics are looking the part and he's definitely very dynamic. You should drill out the barrels a bit though, it adds a lot to the model!

You should make sure it's clear they're not regular grots IMO, so I feel just a shield might not be a clear enough distinction. Maybe two grots/ base? or some kind of suit?

Oooh, more little greenskins running rampant Interesting twist with the hover-boot stealth-suit mega-grots.
I agree with the Commissar (always a sensible thing to do ), probably needs more than just a shield, unless it's a big ol' looted riot shield I guess. Two grots would do it, but I think the better option is some kind of small exo-suit type affair, or maybe extra armour and some kind of gun/shield hybrid.

yes i've been thinking about the shota grots aswell as a version with chopas and pistols maybe bionics would make sence.
grots from the movie terminator, they're looking for grot connor
anyway i finished the flying mega grot and added some smoke to the base and painted on some glyphsand added some scorched brown to the smoke to look like mud flying away due to the flames pushing away the dirt
and there's somthing about the pumpkins in this rebbelion take a look for yourself

I like it. The painting could be a bit neater (do you thin your paints? it helps out a lot), but I really like the overall feel the model has.

thank you commissarkhaine and i agree the painting could be neater and i do thin my paints down most of the time. But i am you like the overall feel of it.
btw do you think the idea of ork boy count as models would work for grots with bionic limbs.
the fluff is that a grot can chose to join the ranks of the shoota/combat grots after 5 years as a normal grot and are trained extencivly and some are given the option to join the specialist troops like lootas, kommandos, etc...

He came out very dynamic - well done! For your next one () try without the flight stand. You should be able to support him with sturdy wire (eg straightened paperclip) pinned from his feet through the path of the flame to the base - you can then work up the flame effect around the wire. Hope I explained that clearly!

i would but the next one has his pk in the floor and both feet on the ground and he is looking up but i will do that for the next one i do infact i like it so much i might do it for all of them one (one lunging left, one going right and one straight up) so it looks like they're taking off though it is hard to explain im sure it will look ok on the model when built.
i gotta think and im testing my shoota grot idea out and building a mek for his vehicle

Lovely dynamic feel to it, that basing works a treat

I'm all for bionik bitz on grots , the important thing is to make sure they stand out easily from the regular grots, so subtle peg-legs and the like would be out.

hi everyone i wrote some fluff today that details the rebbelions beggining and i wanted to get some feedback on it :
chapter 1
Ragsnap dived into cover as several beams of light passed over his head. He spun around to see Snikgrot doing the same. The cowering grots held their poorly built guns close to their chest quickly breathing. Ragsnap looked to his left just in time to see Snardof hold his blunderbuss too close to him and blow his head clean of his body “idiot” Ragsnap muttered to himself as Snardofs body fell to the floor. Ragsnap then looked to the right where Strugdef, Zagkrunch, Rakgull, Gorecrack, Grotwurt, Snikgrot and Nagres were also hiding with their backs to the wall whilst more lasgun shots flew overhead. Suddenly the runtherd unloaded two shots into the enemy, temporarily silencing incoming fire “move ya lazy gits” yelled the second runtherd as he picked up a grot with his grabba stick and tossed him over the fallen pillar the rest of the grots were hiding behind. Ragsnap and the other grots didn’t need to be told twice and jumped over the cover and ran into the enemy, firing their grot blastas wildly into the enemy. Eventually Ragsnaps pistol ran out of ammo and he was forced to use the knife he’d stolen from the corpse of a human two weeks ago. The first guardsman fell to the knife, the fallen warrior screamed and tried to grab the grot as blood ran from his neck. Other humans began to attack the grot who ducked and dived wildly to get out of the way Suddenly, before Ragsnap saw anything, he had been knocked to the floor and was now confronted by the barrel of an officers lasgun. The grot panicked as his heartbeat increased, putting his hand in front of his and yelling he thought this was the end, but, to Ragsnaps surprise no shot was fired and slowly he moved his hand away from his face to see the officer with a hole clean through his skull and a look of complete shock on his face. The officers pistol dropped to the ground just in front of Ragsnap who turned around to see the smoking barrel of Strugdefs blunderbuss and it’s owners battered yet smiling face “ya owe me one” said Strugdef Ragsnap looked back at the pistol that would have killed him “I’ll ave that, if ya don’t mind” he said to himself as he picked up the las-pistol and smiled. After firing a few shots at the closest humans Ragsnap grinned and looked around to see one of the runtherds being stabbed through the eye by a bayonet “that’s betta” Ragsnap said to himself as the dying ork collapsed and blood poured from his eye. As the grots pushed on the ork boyz made it into the swirling melee that the grots were engaged in, both relief and fear filled Ragsnaps mind as he ducked out of the way whilst making sure to hold onto his new pistol. More orks ran past the terrified grots, often kicking one or two of the grots as they passed by. Finally the flow of passing orks began to stop and the grots who were and the front of the horde could now see the backs of the charging orks. “what the ell was tha” said Nagres as the eight remaining grots looked around too see each other and to Ragsnaps pleasure his friends survived the onslaught and were now looking around the desert and picking up their guns and missing teeth. “Right you lot” said the surviving runtherd “get back in they’re or ya can face da en a me grot prod” he added, the grots reluctantly obeyed and limped towards the horde of orks whilst crude bullets and projectiles sailed overhead .
When the eight Gretchin finally made it to where the orks and humans were battling they were exhausted and would give their right arms and legs not to fight but they carried on because of the terrible squighound gnashing at their heels and the orders being yelled by its master. The grots lazily lifted their guns and began to fire into the ranks of the guardsmen and even killing one or two. Ragsnap finally got his urge to fight back and put more effort into his aiming and was now killing with every squeeze of his guns trigger. Slowly the grots walked and fired towards the enemy with no casualties to the tiny battered grots and finally the orks began to shout at the top of their voice a great loud “WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH” and ran towards the enemy as fast as they could whilst the battered, exhausted Gretchin were finally allowed to rest and finally they didn’t need to fight anymore and sat down behind cover whilst the runtherd did the same and tied up the gnashing squighound before turning off the grot prod and shoving the grots away whilst yelling the occasional “shut it” to the grots who had almost collapsed and wanted nothing more to get to the settlement. Truly this was Ragsnaps life until it hit him, an idea so obvious yet never thought of. So he whispered to the seven others to met him in the hideout at sundown where he would tell them the news....

The grots look nice, love the goggled one with the corrugated shield. I can see what you're doing with the shields but I'm not convinced they'll stand out enough from other grots as they stand. I'm not a player myself, but I'd say if it's not clearly apparent which unit is which opponents woud get aggravated. Personally I'd like to see some small armour pieces, but the shields might be enough if they got a distinctive paint scheme, for instance all the shoota grots had face-paint?
