I say she's pretty hot. Dude, lets not get carried away...its a two inch tall piece of metal. Don't get me wrong, it's a fantastic sculpt, but I dont think "hot" is appropriate for a female toy soldier with a six pack

My large monitor disagrees with your statement.

Yeah my breasts are larger than her (althought thats not uncommon for many other cases ), but that is normal for someone without any % of body fat. Actually I am kinda surprised that someone mentionned that he is freaked by their musculature, for there is not much of it. They are stringy, light-weight, very fast and in stunning form. Yeah sure its a sculpt which even does not represent human but catachan arms? Oh cmon, people with intense physical training based on speed and endurance tend loose taste for eating and look "that way". In my 1st grade in university I quit athletics and started with sanda - I lost about 10 kilos and went something under 70 kilos what was enough for my weight category(and is not much for someone 181 cm tall) and my arms and belly looked similiar. After two years I lost my interest and started to simply visit a gym, gained about 15 kilos in 6 months (weight goes up drasticaly under these conditions), lifted about three times more and guess how did I look? More muscular? Nah, I dont think so. But was I stronger before? No, not really. I just want to say that when you see a lot of body details on a slim figure it means lack of fat not a lot of muscles. And space elves females represents tall, slim figures in very meaning of word : "elf".
But I guess whatever turns you on just turns you on. Man breasts are not everything . New models IMHO represents everything what I said, so I kinda like them because how they look makes "sense" to me.
Still not enough to make me change an army I play. Hower if new SoB models comes with more "bitchy" look I may reconsider (or at least I'll create space brothel with Calgar as big pimp daddy ).

I think the male models look great.
The "females" look like they're using Catachan Jungle Fighter arms. I'll pass.
I don't know if this is necessarily the case with what you've seen, but I was told one of the problems with the Wyches and Warriors is that there are specific female arms and apparently no one told the studio painters so some of the studio models were assembled with the wrong arms.
I don't know how much of a difference there is between affeminant male arms and masculine female arms for elves, but they did apparently modeled them "differently."
Dunno if its true, but its what I was told.

I like them, I think they have bought them up to date and they look fresh. I do prefer some of the older models though, but that's just me being fairly old. I think I preferred the Lelith before, not saying that the new one is bad because it's not, and the previous Haemonculi. Those shooty hats were cool.
They remind me of Pirates of Dark Water actually, just a bit more emo ...

Actually, that side-by-side really shows what I'm talking about. They took the old, ugly warrior models, and gave them a head swap and a couple spikey bitz. They're LESS painful on the eyes, but they're still ugly. As for the wyches, they lost the outrageous 80's hairstyle, but they turned into men with boobs.
I agree that the quality of the sculpting is better on the new models, but the design itself is just as ugly as it once was.
Except, of course, for the vehicles, which actually look fieldable now.

...
You might not personally like them, but that doesn't make them ugly. There is more detail, the detail and lines are sharper, the curves are more gradual. The spikes are three dimensional, the old spikes were flat pieces shaped like blades, these have edges to the blades. The torsos are alot better proportioned. The hands are better detailed and better proportioned to the arms. The arms and legs are posed in much more natural ways that make it look like these weapons aren't agonizing to carry.
When it comes to talking about "more detail" I don't just mean... *ooh they added jagged armor* I mean how the armor sits and how the musculature comes through, such that it looks like an individual wearing form fit armor as opposed to just a skin tight suit with some pads.
A more effinate elven man looks more like females *gasp*. You're dealing with a race of aliens that is more gender neutral, deal with it. If its anything its just a problem with the scale and not the sculpting. Wyches are all about fighting that means muscle and that means more masculine. That pushes the visible gender distinction to a narrower point, especially at this scale.

I quite like them, and I may even pick up a few. May have to pass on the wyches though until someone proves they can be modeled so they don't look like transvestites on steroids.

Then what's a better vision. As best I can tell they put alot of thought behind each and every infantry unit in the codex to make it not just distinctive from a fluff perspective but to look and perform distinctly.
If you haven't already I'd reccommend watching the videos GW put out last week, with the Dark Eldar developement round table discussion.

When the DE are released, I'm going to buy a box of witches to make that one model I like.
I don't want any of the other parts, so if someone wants to hold off buying a box and trade with me for 9/10 or 11/12 or however many is in the box, I'm all game.

Some people simply don't like different models, and at times in can be unfathomable as to why. But that's just the way it is.

How so?
The aesthetic is completely different from the old models. They are, literally, eldar guardians with spikes and a bit more medieval armor. Do you think eldar guardians are godawful to look at, too?

I like the new aesthetic: the sculpts are dynamic, especially on the hellions. The new raiders look swoopy and also remind me of the old wave serpents, which makes me want to create an Eldritch Raiders list.

Although wyches are basically gladiators i think the arms are still more masculine then they should be. Especially since they are essentially elves after all and naturally have a smaller physique.

yes. yes so much. I love the oriental flavor in the hair and armor. klaives dont make a whole lot of sense, if you just look at the weapon (you get leverage for a sword by gripping away from the cutting edge, not towards it) but the incubi models do look super cool. they did a great job. well worth the wait.
