I have to say, I like the orange jump suites more then the blue one. Nice paintjob on the second ganger.
I just spotted, is that oil that oozes out of his eye? Nicely done anyways.

I dig it. The painted gangers look good, and I like the idea for the leader, it certainly makes for some good fluff.

Morning Guys.
I've got another ganger finished, and thought I'd add a Ratskin Scout to the gang. With the fluff I have in mind for the gang, the Ratskin is very much a second class citizen, but I'm sure he'll come in handy.
I'm in the middle of converting a running ganger (not as easy as I thought, the servitors aren't the easiest to carve up), and the original ganger in the blue jump suit is stripped down ready for a second coat of paint.
Thanks

The orange suits are very boiler suit. It suits them and makes them less servitorish I think. Cool I will watch - Love unique necro gangs

I really like the idea you've taken on here for the VanSaars. I think there is a misconception about the VanSaars and their role in the Underhive. While the House may be heavily technological and the creators of the best weapons in the Hive, the gangs of the Underhive still have to make due with the same horrible conditions as their rival houses.
While they may have connections uphive that can sometimes provide them with better equipment, VanSaar in the Underhive are not really 'posh'. No one is as the conditions make it almost impossible.
This was always my argument on the side of VanSaar losing boltguns on their House Weapons List, in addition to the balance issue. Their house may have the latest and greatest technology, but in the underhive it is difficult to keep especially the most advanced weaponry well maintained. In other words, VanSaar make really good lasguns, but there is no such thing as a good boltgun in the Underhive.
Anyway, back to your work. I agree that the orange suits are great, but be careful in the detail to avoid making them look too much like penal legionares. Keep up the great work. I can't wait to see more!

While I liked the blue jump suit the orange works better.
Classic Ratskins are so much better than the newer ones. Sweet.

I've done a bit more modelling today. Both of the bases are temporary, I've got some resin ones ordered ( http://www.evilmushroomgames.com/new_page_10.htm) because I'm lazy, and if I can get some good looking, ready made ones, then why not...?
I've stripped the first ganger, ready to repaint, and changed his lasgun to a shotgun.
The other model is going to be my first Juve. Getting one of the servitors to run wasn't easy, but I've done what I can with it. I'm going for models that I think look good, not necessarily ones that have the best weapons in the game, hence the bolt pistol on the Juve.
I'm going to paint the two of them tomorrow, and that will probably be my last painting for the next week or so, Christmas comes at the most inconvenient of times! Automatically Appended Next Post: Time to go and drill the barrel on that bolt pistol I think....

Well, to me a bolt pistol is a waste on a Juve, but it looks waaayyyy too good to be discarded!!!
Also like the pipe in the other ganger's hand, it makes him more... lively, like they don't always fight but actually live real lives (before you ask, no, I don't usually wield a pipe IRL haha)...
Good work!

I know what you mean, I just keep telling myself that he wont be a juve forever. Still, if he does hit with it, he should do some damage. It'll all be good when he gets a few skill advances....

I can't believe I haven't run across this before. Very cool gang you're working on. I was actually fiddling around with a servitor a month or so back for one of my necro gangs but just couldn't make it fit with the rest of the gang, but I did really like the concept of using servitors as a tech-y gang for Necro. They have a very gothic look which works great for the world of Necromunda. I'm not too crazy about the orange jumpsuits, but that's purely personal preference, the paint jobs are nicely done. I'll be keeping an eye on this one!

Nice stuff Digging the concept for these guys, it'll be interesting to see how you work around the limited poses the servitors have. And good decision on the boiler suit look they're rocking, works for me.

Hey guys, just a quick update.
I keep the models in a steel case with foam inserts to protect them. The case probably looks like the kind of thing that you'd keep a camera, or some tools in. A few nights ago some evil, dirty, b*****d broke in a stole it (along with other things obviously).
Rather than spend my time finding the guy that stole them (how I'd love to), I'm going to remake the gang. I actually liked the four models I'd already done, so I'm going to remake them as closely as possible. I've got another 8 servitor bodies ready to go, so hopefully it shouldn't take long to get back to the point I was at.
All in all, not happy, but trying to look on the bright side.....

From memory the strap on the lasgun was dheneb stone with some light washes of brown, and the cloth around the barrel was just white with the same washes. The lasgun itself was just chainmail with a wash of black, then dry brushed with mithril. The casing was then painted DA green, and the whole thing was given the same light washes of brown.

Some great use of figures and conversion work here.
A novel take on Van Saars but also quite fitting. They also look a little Delaque/Pit Slave in style too I suppose.
How many "base" servitor models are there to convert from? I guess the danger is that you run out of base figures of similar style to use - maybe some green stuff casting of faces etc to use for converting would help change things up if the need arises.

Too bad bro, it happened to me 4 years ago, almost all my painted & unpainted minis (1000pts worth of Tyranid, a Zombie horde, my preciousliy hoarded amount of bits) were stolen in my basement... So I can relate...
Hopefully these are only 4 minis (though it can more than rakesup killing wishes)...
Good luck on re-building them!

Man, that sucks. Hope you didn't lose too much other stuff. With any luck it was some skag-head who didn't have the wits to see what he had and gave it to his dealer thinking it was a camera or something, who then proceeded to beat the gak out of the thief for trying to scam him with toy soldiers. Little consolation I know.
Here's looking forward to the next lot.

My camera seems to be on its last legs, so I've taken a few pictures with my phone. I've done 5 models so far to replace the 4 that were stolen.
I have a name for the gang, The Sump Hammers, so I'm going for some primitive hammers (used as clubs in the game), this'll be the theme for the gang. I've done another running Juve, this one doesn't have a bolt pistol though, just a nice reliable autopistol. There's two more pretty straight forward gangers, one with lasgun, the other with a shotgun. Finally I tacked my two heavies. The first one has a plasma gun, although it still needs a bit of work on the arm. The second has the usual heavy stubber, and this is the one I'm not sure about. If anything the gun may be too big. I'll have a look at it tomorrow and see what I think. On the other hand, has anyone tried two plasma guns in the same gang, and no heavy weapon?

I'm glad you made them again.
I don't have any issues with the size of the stubber, but I think it'd look better if the sling was tightened, which would fit its purpose and reinforce the massive bulk of the weapon.
Guy with lasgun looks nice, maybe my favourite of the lot.
I also like the added ammo belt on the Juve's handgun, looks great (Chaos Bolt Pistol?). The hammers are quite original as well, very characterful.
Only thing is the shotgun : to me it looks like a shortened lasgun with its clip removed, not a shotgun. Actually, I had to re-read to words to get what it was supposed to be. But that's maybe just me, no big deal...
