I have a question, The voice actors for this movie, will they speak in English accents and will it be in high gothic?

As far as I know voice actors have not been set in stone yet. ADB is still in the process of re-writing the script and with his job at Black Library and his new born to take care of that may take awhile. I know the movie will be in english, although I doubt they will speak in High Gothic, since from my understanding that a pseudo form of Latin. While that may be authentic it might make for a very hard to follow movie.

Personally I always envisioned Coteaz with a Spanish accent, on account of his name and the fact that hes based off the the real life Torquemada who was involved in the Spanish Inquisition. Antonio Banderas anyone?

How about everyone picks who they think would be best for voicing the following roles, can be anyone in the world:

Coteaz

Marcus (Coteaz's apprentice)

Grey Knight Brother-Captain

The narrator in the trailer is painful to hear.

The Tick: Everybody was a baby once, Arthur. Oh, sure, maybe not today, or even yesterday. But once. Babies, chum: tiny, dimpled, fleshy mirrors of our us-ness, that we parents hurl into the future, like leathery footballs of hope. And you've got to get a good spiral on that baby, or evil will make an interception.

The Narrater was ok, Coteaz sounded a little stiff.

It really just sounds like someone talking in a deep voice that they really can't maintain. and the Guardsmen had abit of a drawl

The voice acting and naration in the trailer are pretty poor, everything else looks amazing though!

It's funny that, IMO, the only good part of Ultramarine was the voice acting and that (for now at least) seems to be the only thing stopping this from being insanely good. If you're able to sort that out then I think you' be on to a winner!

As others have already asked, any idea about how this will be distributed yet?

Ok i understand, but from my personal opinion it would be silly to not have them speak in high gothic. High Gothic is the only language spoken by The Imperium in 40k, and is literally just an English Accent and words are, as you said, very inspired from latin. Your film looks so brilliant, it would spoil it to not follow the voice acting as well. As others agree with me, i think, that this is the only thing to be addressed so far.

There are millions of dialects and languages in the Imperium.

This is excellent news man! The trailer is just simply badass. I'm looking forward to more progress and the eventual release date!

High Gothic will literally only be used between members of a governing body, such as between Inquisitors.

An Inquisitor is going to speak Low Gothic to his cronies and any people he's interacting with purely for ease of communication. The Inquisitor probably speaks a dialect of Low Gothic as his birth tongue, I doubt anyone except really high up Nobles will be taught High Gothic from birth.

Its kinda like how Latin was during the Dark Ages.

The animation in the trailer looks on-par with the intro of Dawn Of War series, (better than Ultramarine, let us not speak of that horror again...), but the voice acting is utterly dreadful. (Yes I know it is a work-in-progress).

I’m betting on a chaos vs. grey knights/inq fight. Since there are baneblades, the ig are probably tangled up too. I don't think there's any reason to put in xenos to. It might overcomplicate the plot a bit too much.

My guess is the IG mount a frontal suicide attack against traitor forces while the Gks and Coteaz conduct a surgical strike to retrieve the artifact and/or kill a freshly summoned greater daemon.

So we flash back and forth between the guardsmen's hopeless fight and the awsome kickassery of the GKs. and there was much grimdarkness!

Well, i dont mean to be offensive, but I am hoping the voice acting isnt going to be tacky. Take Lord of The Rings for example, voicing was perfectly cast, and although there were actors who spoke in different accents, such as Americans and Australian actors, they were all made to speak in an English one. Just Saiyan.

And i know people are going to say: Well this film had this
And: This film had that
But i don't care. In all fairness, It is an English company giving another, the ability to make a film about their franchise. Everything i know so far about the background in 40k is that everyone speaks in high gothic, or in other words, latinised english.
