I've got an infantry horde of Valhallans. If it weren't for the Swap Shop and eBay I probably would have missed rent while I was building it.

Land Raider Crusader for 40 pounds, OMFG!!! I got one from e-bay for 23 pounds 1,5 year ago and was complaining that I needed to do some extra work on it to set it right. I am now glad that I took it.

A bit of Off-top. You can always do a nice Late War Flames of War mechanised list for under 60 pounds (if You do some shopping around and use alternative plastic miniatures).

Curiously enough they are £20.50 for 10 metal miniatures (£18 for 10 plastic cadians), not bad value if you ignore the amount you have to get for a blob horde!

PS - re the sentinals, I do love the models and find they work really quite well in numbers, but £111 well? I'm not so sure I would buy all of those now!

Sorry, your calcs are a bit wrong there. You divided the pointage by the money total, you should have divided the money by the pointage. i.e.

I remember starting out 40k with 3rd edition. At that time it worked out at around £10 per 100 points (on average)

Now its looking more like £20-£25

This latest price rise is the straw that broke the camel's back for me. I've already sold my tau, my sisters are up for sale (PM me if you're interested - ditto my fantasy dwarfs). I only need one model to finish my dark eldar which I intended to keep as my 6th edition army, but now I'm thinking I can get an Infinity rulebook and either a Kings of War or Dropzone Commander rulebook for the same cost as the new BGB, so I don't know how long I'll keep playing 40k for.

Even my mate with 20,000pts+ of 40k has lost interest now - he wanted a few bits for his Necrons and can't justify the expense. When someone that invested says no more, its time to move on.

Apart from nurglings, this is the highest £ per point thing in the daemons army.
And to make it worse, they are still metal, once they get hit by finecast i expect the price to go up more.

Still worth it though for their ability to pop tanks early on.
