I'm currently in the process of writing my own Sisters of Battle codex in my spare time between other projects and found an easy solution to make Acts of Faith and Faith Points: don't use Faith Points.
In the one I'm doing, each SoB army has a pool of Acts of Faith (much like in the Witchhunters book). Each unit in the army with the Acts of Faith special rule can attempt a single Act of Faith each turn. To perform an Act of Faith the unit rolls 2D6 and must roll equal to or less than half (rounded down, min 4) the unit's highest Leadership value (excluding ICs that join the squad). If they pass the Act of Faith works, if they fail they cannot attempt another Act of Faith.
Certain units will also have a Favoured Act, which allows them to pass their Acts of Faith test using their full Leadership value when using that particular act. For example, Sisters Repentia have Favoured Act (Spirit of the Martyrs), which would allow them to pass an Act of Faith test equal to their Leadership value when using Spirit of the Martyrs rather than half of it.
I've been also toying around with an Acts of Faith sub-rule called Miracle. If a unit passes an Acts of Faith test rolling double 1s, a miracle has occurred. I'm not sure if this should be an improved version of the Act of Faith being used or simply allowing the unit to not count as having even performed an Act of Faith that turn yet.
However, with that said, I like that you have a generic pool of Acts of Faith as well as each unique having its own unique act.

Now that's interesting. I'm not sure about taking away the limited-resource-management by letting every unit attempt an AOF every turn, but rolling more dice to give more finesse to set the probabilities is something I toy with a while back and would do well to consider now. Thanks.

More than welcome.
Another idea I had for miracles is that, when one occurs, you get to roll on a Chaos Daemons-style "Warp Storm Table". Things like resurrecting ICs or units that have died, improving their Shield of Faith save until the beginning of your next turn or the entire game, some kind of omnipotent warpstorm sets in and devastates a few enemy squads, and so on and so forth.
For this idea I had the player rolling dice at the beginning of each turn and, if it was a certain result, a miracle happened. It had all sorts of variables too, like you get +1 to the roll for each of your SoB units destroyed, adding the turn number to the roll, etc. The goal was to get a roll of 13 or something crazy like that.

It's honestly not less limiting (despite appearances) because each unit is only getting 1 attempt per turn, versus as many as you can afford through faith points (and the rules allow you to attempt).
It's a system I considered, but there are times you need a unit to do more than one thing. Like the Battle Sisters, if I've been pinned or have gone to ground I need to become Fearless to get up and act again. Furthermore I may want to try and trigger that Preferred Enemy bonus during the shooting phase to make my shooting a little more effective. Automatically Appended Next Post: I mean it makes math and generation easier (say, put a token next to each unit, when you use their Act of Faith, remove it), but you lose some army flexibility because of it. Automatically Appended Next Post: Miracles on a chart almost makes me think of the old 2nd Ed system where your units rolled on a chart pre-game for a bonus. I could see that coming back in a large random table with the bonus being army wide as the faith ebbs and flows.
Just not OP or bad miracle rules and I'd be fine with that (so basically make the entire table one of small buffs you either roll for at the start of the game, Dark Eldar Combat Drugs style (the way I rather prefer it honestly) or each turn, Warpstorm style).

Hey, here's an idea: Make AOF roles two dice, and then if you roll snake eyes (double 1s), you get a miracle from the Amazing Miracle Table), but if you roll boxcars (double 6s), that particular unit Loses Faith and can't use AOF for the rest of the game. That balances it a bit and adds some lovely unpredictability.

Just my personal opinion but: Ugh.
I do not like being punished for using my army's rules and I don't see the Sisters' faith waxing and waning like that over the course of a short time (these games don't represent long snapshot of what's happening honestly).

If you don't mind acronyms that use letters from the middle of a word it could be KISSeS.
But yes, generally no one likes to use something that could potentially punish them for using it. It's why Plasma guns and pistols aren't really worth 15 points. :/

Now I've homebrewed up some tanks -- but they don't get the free 6++ anymore, they have to buy Armour of Contempt as an upgrade:
